Starlord's fuck up was almost mandatory. event hough his "fuck ups" in past movies lead to lucky victories, someone had to take the blame and allow thanos to win. in that scenario the only posible candidates were him or spiderman, and that other peter had no posible reasons to do it other than "being young". it was all set up fromt he start - Strange was probably aware of that too, but allowed it to happen. Its almost Dr Manhattan all over again

What Peter did with Thanos already happened in GoTG2, when Ego accidentally let it slip that he killed Pete's mother he just snapped at him, letting his emotions take hold.

You can argue that Strange saw the future in which, for example, they bopped Peter on the head after incapacitating Thanos (but before he could fuck that up), and that it leads to one of the failure states. Strange just pulling a Tzeentch.

Starlord is referred to as Starlord or just Quill so much that I was really confused why you guys were talking about Spiderman with Gamora at first. I completely forgot his name is Pete too.

This was also a change that happened later though, Hela was gonna destroy Thor's hammer in that alley and kill Odin that was living as a hobo in New York. There is even a cut scene where Thor tells Bruce that Hela killed Odin.

Waititi mentioned either in the commentary, or in some other home media extra, that it was antonal change - having Odin die like a hobo in an NY alleyway while being under Loki's spell was too dark

I was actually more frustrated with Dr Strange at that point. I realize it's a pedantic complaint, since you can probably make up millions of "but why didn't they just" scenarios (such as Stark making suits for everybody)... But still, the moment they were pulling Thanos' arm to get the gauntlet off, I was immediately reminded of the earlier scene where a monster got its arm cut off by a portal, and I just haven't been able to shake the feeling that they shouldn't have included that scene because of how dumb it felt to me that Strange never got that idea, especially considering how that one moment basically decided the outcome of the movie.
