http://www.ew.com/article/2016/12/08/logan-early-reactions-praise-gritty-tone :why: No fucking way it's a 40 minute preview, at that point you might as well show the rest of it.
But that's apparently what they did. A bunch of people got to go evidently, and most of their reactions that I've seen have been positive. Cautiously optimistic? Or after 40 minutes the movie turns into a crapfest.
what i've gathered is logan is sort of like the old man logan comics? I liked the trailer, but I'm still sort of confused about how the entire plot is lol. but I guess a good trailer doesn't reveal much about the story
Tom Holland is hot
Doesn't the Old Man Logan comic deal heavily with the Hulk?
pretty much - the whole plot kinda kicks off with Wolverine owing the Hulk family money, if I remember correctly
Don't forget mysterio and spiderman and Hawkeye [editline]9th December 2016[/editline] There's simply no way to make such an adaptation atm
Its a loose adapration that rolls with the idea of Logan being older, having retired Wolverine and on a roadtrip. Those factors and Wolverine being the "only" mutant/X-Man left are the only things from OML they're adapting
Some interesting cameos in the Trailer: Also The Vulture ML figure was revealed:
It's straight ripping it off, not a 'nod'. Honestly this trailer wasn't even that good.
Why must people who dont read comics look at a comic adaption and go "its ripping off the other one thats also based off the same comics"? Spider-Man doing X incredible feat of strength is something that happens all the time.
vulture looks :incredible:
hes wearing a WW2 style Flight Jacket
you're a fly guy
Looks like they just announced the release date for the second Spiderman movie, which is Friday, July 5, 2019.
they really need to stop announcing sequels when the first one isn't out yet. not that i think homecoming will do bad, but it's like "come on, man."

What even is the nod to the Raimi films?
boat/L-train
What? The boat scene is supposed to be a nod to the train in SM2? That's all? It feels like if we're gonna go as vague as "holding webs in each hand while a method of transportation crashes" then the whole trailer is a nod to the Raimi films. Because it's Spider-Man.
raimi's 4th film was going to use vulture iirc.
Lmao you know fucking nothing about me dude, but thank you for acting like you do!
Well i can only assume because you see "Spider-Man pulling off an incredible feat of strength to save people" and think its ripping off the Riami films and not just being an homage to the thousand times he's done it in the comics.
Well i can only assume because you see "Spider-Man pulling off an incredible feat of strength to save people" and think its ripping off the Riami films and not just being an homage to the thousand times he's done it in the comics.
"Incredible feat of strength that endangers Spider-Man" is probably the most Spider-Man feat of superheroism. It's been done in just about every Spidey cartoon, multiple times across multiple comic lines and in both mainstream movie versions.
Well i can only assume because you see "Spider-Man pulling off an incredible feat of strength to save people" and think its ripping off the Riami films and not just being an homage to the thousand times he's done it in the comics.
No, just think Spider-Man doing that particular pose/action is ripping off something that Raimi did 12 years ago. It's very on the nose. For the record, just so you know, Spider-Man was the only comic book I read growing up, and he's a hero very close to my heart.

I think a boat ripping in half and trying to stop the train are pretty different things going on, and just because the pose is similar doesn't mean it's ripping off or even paying homage to Raimi's films. It's merely the pose that makes the most sense to communicate the action going on in the scene.
I did like how Civil War casually highlighted Spider-Man's super strength, which people tend to passively neglect or underestimate. Or people don't and that's just me making assumptions, but hey.
i mean, his muscles there are huge as shit, how can he even hide that in plain clothes?
Baggy layered clothing.
http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/news/793811-tom-holland-reveals-he-secretly-enrolled-in-a-high-school-to-prepare-for-spider-man#/slide/1
“The coolest thing I think I did for the movie was I was enrolled in a high school in New York, in the Bronx, as a secret. No one knew who I was or what I was doing. I had a fake name and a fake accent. I went to school for three days. It was really fun. It was really interesting because New York high schools are so different to schools that I went to in London. Where I went to a school where you have to wear a suit and tie and it’s all boys, and for me it was the first time that I was in a classroom with girls. It was a really strange experience, it was really fun. “I told one person. I told one kid at the school. I was like ‘Hey man, listen, I’m actually Spider-Man.’ He did not believe me… At the time I hadn’t made the movie, so I didn’t have any pictures to show him to prove that I was Spider-Man…. No one believed me. Which is actually a good thing, because it makes me think that if Peter Parker went up in his school and was like ‘I’m Spider-Man,’ everyone would be like ‘Nah dude, no you’re not.'”
Between his actual performance, showing up at the hospital in his spidey suit, and this. He just seems to fit the role so well.
Marvel Studios have been doing great, but did you know that for the last two months Marvel Comics returned to topping the charts in retail sales and market share. It seems that the success of DC Rebirth didn't affect Marvel Comics in any way and form and they are still going strong. [Sp]The Mouse is watching, there will be consequences.[/sp]
Woah, you mean taunting your core audience in hopes that they'll hate-buy your product combined with pandering to a demographic that historically doesn't spend money on physical media is a bad business strategy? Color me shocked, it's almost like people don't LIKE constant character-assassinating events that really have no long-lasting effect on the status quo and reboots where everyone gets a million new SPECIAL COLLECTOR'S EDITION #1 issues!
Well looks like footage of the Iron Man Experience ride at Hong Kong Disneyland has came out:
