I wonder if Deadpool will make a joke about White Chicks (2004) [editline]9th March 2017[/editline] Can't wait for costume photos, didn't even realize Domino was gonna be in this

ok so my mom is a big comic book nerd and i'm thinking about taking her to the movies for her birthday to see logan. She once told me she rented Deadpool but had to eject the disk after 30 minutes because she couldn't handle all that violence. Would Logan be too much for her? I think Prometheus was near her upper limit for R rated violence

Surprisingly less blood and gore than expected, though there is just enough to warrant an R rating. For me at least, the R rating was more for the swearing than the violence.

I never would have known unless you told me. There is barely any swearing in the Russian dub, they replaced all the fucks with casual stuff like "damn". Was Logan screaming "fuck" repeatedly in that one scene where he beats up a car, by any chance?

Hearing Professor X say "fuck" sometimes felt out of character though.
This is actually the funniest thing in the world to me right now.
[sp]It's actually quite sad in context[/sp]
[sp]It's actually quite sad in context[/sp]
Really the whole movie was. In fact, days after seeing it, I felt more depressed than anything in regard to it. It kind of was a shitty ending to the entire X-Men saga, really. The more I think about it, the more I didn't like it. Don't get me wrong, the film itself was great and the story was good, along with the action. But as part of the X-Men films altogether, it's leaving me dissatisfied as an ending.
I believe so. Honestly it felt more natural hearing him say it. But I guess you can explain it away with the whole degenerative mental disease thing.
i loved it. fuck happy endings. this is a proper, mature send off to the characters
They didn't send them off, they [sp]killed them all off[/sp] though
The X-Men are destined to never get a happy ending. This has been pretty much consistent since their inception. Hell, there are two prominent characters who each come from a possible future in which the same fucking guy killed the world, one where the the killbots went too psycho and killed the world, one where all of the supervillains teamed up and killed the world (in which [sp]Wolverine himself ended up killing the X-Men[/sp]), and those are just some of the cavalcade of bad endings the X-Men will likely face. And in a meta sense, they will always be representative of a suffering minority group, and will always in turn suffer themselves. In both the lore and in the writing behind it, they're going to continue being targets of prejudice, marginalized, and attacked/murdered for having abilities forever. Honestly when you think about it, its horrifically dark. Any comic, any TV show, any movie you see of them where they fight and make good strides, it'll always be for nothing. Everything they do is inherently in vain in every continuity.
So I just figured out something about the Infinity stones being set up that kind of blew my mind. [sp] T esseract H eimdall/Hammer A ether N ecklace O rb S cepter [/sp] :blaze:
thats really pushing it tbh i really dont think so
Especially when Heimdall/Hammer is purely speculation.
[sp]'necklace'[/sp] i mean come on
I should really stop watching movie teasers/trailers. The Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 one was amazing, sure. But the last scene of the last trailer they released spoils the story.
I'm not worried about how they do Baby Groot, I'm worried about Drax.
I'm not worried about how they do Baby Groot, I'm worried about Drax.
Gunn kinda explained his role in the Guardians "family" which I thought was interesting and hasn't really been shown in the trailers since he's mostly been a joke magnet. Thematic spoilers as opposed to plot spoilers [Sp]He treats Mantis like a surrogate daughter in place of his dead daughter which I'm sure wI'll lead to a few more serious scenes than we've seen. [/sp] Also I feel like half his jokes in the trailers won't be in the final cut, I think Gunn just loves having Bautista fuck about
I saw Logan yesterday. It's really a comic book movie I needed. I was getting really tired of the same formula over and over. Deadpool was funny and it was nice to see them just go for the gore and swears. In Logan though they don't shy away from showing our heroes on the rock bottom of their lives and deal with some hard shit. Great performances from the main trio, Hugh, Patrick and the girl. My only issues are stylistic choices (spoilers): [sp]They could've made evil Logan, X-24, look a bit more interesting. Him just having black tank top and always fighting good Logan who wore white tank top was a bit too obvious. Maybe something semi-superhero-costume-like. Just to contrast better the old Logan. I know he was supposed to represent Logan's rage but his design was a bit lazy. Next is the Reavers. Rather than have them these distracting robo-limbs that they don't even use that much make them just normal military. In the end they serve the plot's purpose but if they were supposed to be cooler than normal henchmen it didn't work.[/sp]

Anyone else worried about Iron Fist? I know the reviews are bad because of controversy mainly, but I'm not sure.
Not at all. How can someone trust the opinions of people who are stark raving mad about a white character being white in an adaptation? After Jessica Jones I don't think I see any way for this to be objectively bad
I won't even be able to start watching it until a week after it comes out anyway, so I'll decide upon what I hear in this thread.
