Not only that, but the premise itself of how to fight a person who controls people's minds is also intriguing.
(very minor spoilers) I had to pause after the scene in Iron Fist episode 5 where [sp]Ward flips off all the locations a hidden camera could be[/sp] because I couldn't stop cackling at both the silliness of that moment and also because I've actually done that (someone pulled a great April fool's prank on me once)
It was a great scene and its def getting ripped for reaction gifs

Jesus fuck this makes no sense.
Disregarding how bad The Mummy looks (it's not out, it MIGHT be good, who knows), ASM2 literally killed Sony's Spider-Man franchise (I guess Ghostbusters had something to do with it too, but that was really just the final nail in an already nail-filled coffin).
This is like bringing Joss Whedon back for another Avengers or Alien film; if they already fucked it up, why give them another chance WITH THE SAME FRANCHISE THEY FUCKED UP WITH PRIOR?
Like, Sony's got a shit film division, but their stable of writers and directors can't be THAT small, can it? Why not see if you couldn't get James Mangold? Or Tim Miller? Or Fede Alvarez?

Oh shit is Iron Fist out?
I'd better get on that.
I mean I half expect Spidey to get the black suit during Infinity War-Avengers4, but I'd at least expect a MCU Spider-man 2 of him coming back from the events of Infinity War with the black suit for most of the movie and getting rid of it at the end to lead into a Venom movie. Then again I do sort of expect Phase 4 being a symbiote arc leading into Maximum Carnage/Symbiote Invasion as Avengers 5 in a way.
Edit: Guess who's out of a job?

OH JEEZ I was away too long.
This... doesn't sound much better.
I'm enjoying Iron Fist, i'm not quite sure why the critics don't like the show but whatever

So far, at the end of episode 4, my best guess is they decided it having a white protag was the biggest issue, and decided to write their reviews to try and support it being a terrible show because of that.
Like, the main thing I remember aside from Finn Jones being white was that it was slow and boring, with bad fight scenes. But it's not slow; it's not incredibly quick, but the plot keeps coming and it hasn't gotten boring yet, and the fight scenes are pretty good so far.
At least Danny uses his powers more creatively than Luke "just punch 'em really hard" Cage.

It was good humor when he just goes through that one build bitch-slapping everyone unconscious without breaking a sweat.
I think the plots pretty interesting and the pacing seems fine yeah there are bits here and there but you need that to get some form of character development but i've watched 8 episodes, i think i started at about mid day-ish lol and i'm enjoying it a lot
Edit: Sucks that the critics are shitting on it as it's gonna put a lot of people off it which I don't think it deserves
I told ya
How is Iron Fist so bad
That first fight scene was comical, and it was just downhill from there.
The reviews were slamming the show for the fight scenes, acting and dialogue, at least the ones I saw. Only a few mentioned his race.
I forgot that today was today.

Fucking One More Day.
I don't understand how an idea like that can get by everyone and make it to release. It was IMMEDIATELY hated. Like, day 1.

just one more day
Anyone care to fill me in?

The fight scene's aren't too bad but they're nowhere near the quality I expect by now. The first scene it doesn't even look like he's touching anyone, and every time he lightly taps/pushes the guards they all comically fall unconscious as if he snapped their necks on the spot. The whole thing feels like they wanted it to be less gritty then the last three shows but they didn't go all the way into making it actually fun, so it just feels like the comically bland middle ground.
The whole thing honestly feels like Agents of SHIELD, and feels like it's only slightly higher quality. Which isn't a high bar (though I've only watched the first season).
Anyone care to fill me in?
Same.
i saw the first episode of ironic fisterâ„¢
and i think it's pretty much the same as every other marvel show lol. which is both a relief (since they're all watchable, and have good ideas and themes) and a disappointment (since they rarely flesh out those ideas and themes with much charm)
if you liked the other shows, you'll probably like this one. and if you're like me, you'll do it wishing they were a bit more daring with their stylistic choices every step of the way.
[editline]17th March 2017[/editline]
also the first fight scene looked a bit awkward, but i wouldn't call it bad?
Same.
There is a comic book thread.
[Sp]Spider-Man sold his marriage to the devil because editorial fiat. EiC wanted him back as a single guy living with his aunt[/sp]
-snip-
I think another problem is that by this point in most of the shows (end of episode 1) you get a feeling for what's happening / what's going to happen.
Daredevil you know he's a blind lawyer who is going to fight the mobs, Jessica Jones is a detective who is fighting some insane guy/woman/entity named Kilgrave, Luke Cage was a bit iffy but we at least already met just about all the characters and established the villains.
Iron Fist... he's homeless and doesn't really want anything? Of course it expands later but for the first two episodes it's just a constant question of what's happening and what they're trying to do. The plot is moving forward just because it feels like it's supposed to move forward, there's nothing organic about it.
that flashback effect they use, with the white vertical lines, looks really cheap and distracting
Atleast the event of one more day gave us big-time and superior spiderman. Too bad they gave us ANAD spiderman

How about when he does his backflip and it looks like a special effect from Goosebumps
All it needed was the shitty 90's teleporting sound effect

I'm convinced that Marvel's decline started with Civil War and Spider-Man unmasking himself.
That was when they really made character-assassinating crossover events an annual practice. OMD and ANAD and every other "if we make them mad enough, they'll hate-buy it just to see how bad it is" decision can be traced back to them saying "we'd sell a lot of issues if Peter Parker had a public identity oh fuck wait how do we keep this going shit shit shit undo undo".
Michael Rosanbaum is in GotG 2

Nova?
Stallone is in GotG as well.

Define 'critics', it'll prolly be pretty clear what's up.
Yeah, I'm 3 episodes into Iron Fist and I'm liking it more than Luke Cage and Jessica Jones.
I agree with a lot of critics that some of the dialogue and fight scenes are pretty bad - at least early on. The [sp]hallway-to-elevator[/sp] fight was the first one that I actually liked. The narrative is also sort of cloudy and directionless in the first two episodes. But episode 4/5 the show really picked up and I like it now. Anyone in the FP discord probably knows how much shit I was giving it early on.
