I liked Episode 7, for what it's worth. Currently on Episode 9.
I do have one question that probably can be answered from the comics, but [sp]if the Hand is a mystical occult of ninjas, why the fuck are they so focused on selling drugs in NYC like some common criminal cartel? And if they're just actually a common criminal cartel, why are they so threatening to K'un L'un to have the Iron Fist swear to destroy them?[/sp]

[sp]My impression is the hand is a really dangerous cult, and heroin dealing through Rand was just a cool get rich quick scheme by Madame Gao. The real sinister stuff they were doing is all the weird shit they do in Daredevil and some of the later stuff they do in Iron Fist. So they're definitely very threatening[/sp]

[sp]Build up resources and capital. They can also brainwash people after revival, which is also implied in DD and Iron Fist, so the focus on social infiltration is probably more an attempt to play off the Hydra stuff from Winter Soldier.
Also they worship a demon.[/sp]
Do the Guardians interact with the Thor's world or go anywhere his people go at all?
[sp]Fuck, Sigourney Weaver is probably The Beast.[/sp]
Just watched the first two or three episodes.
Damn, the back and forth [sp]WHAT IF HE REALLY IS DANNY, NO JOY HE CANT BE[/sp] constantly back and forth was a bit annoying.

The second episode really was the worst one because it was basically this times 100
Same ol' problem of Netflix series being too long, except in this case they try to do all the back and forth stuf in the beginning as opposed to episodes 7-11
I don't think I can finish this. the Iron Fist series of comics holds both the best comic I've ever read, and the worst comic I've ever read, and now probably the worst piece of marvel cinematic media i've ever seen. Hopefully volume 5 of Iron Fist will be even remotely good.
Why did they make danny into a child in a bitchboy's body? He has never come out of k'un lun not knowing how to tie his fucking shoes "I practiced at this for 15 years" yeah, ok buddy. I'm not sure why they even bothered to show the thunderer if he didn't even learn anything from him? was danny actually ever in k'un lun?
Should I keep watching? like does he magically remember his teachings from k'un lun in the last episode?

It's like Daredevil, but in the sense that [sp]he barely uses his fist and even by the end doesn't know how to actually use it.[/sp]
That was a fucking retarded twist in episode 10 with [sp]Colleen was in the Hand the whole time but it's okay because it's the friendly department of the Hand[/sp]
Like how do you go through the first 9 fucking episodes without bringing it up once?
Have to admit the scene in one of the later episodes where they were warming up together to that old hip-hop music was really fucking cute.
Iron Fist S01E13 [sp]I don't understand what Danny being in K'un Lun would've accomplished, he barely knows how to control the Iron Fist, and his normal fighting skills must be below or on-par with that of the monks in the monastery, which I'm assuming there are a lot more of. I'm not exactly sure of the time frame between the start of the season when he left K'un Lun and the end when he returned, but it just seems like even if he spent that time in the monastery he still wouldn't be able to do much with the Iron Fist.[/sp]
He [sp]defeated a dragon, a drunken master, a bunch of Hand goons, and a few champions of the Hand. He easily could've defended the passage even tho he's still green as the Iron Fist[/sp]

[sp]But surely at least one or two of the others in the monastery have the same level of skill, even without the Iron Fist[/sp]

[sp]They do, look at Davos for example. But the Iron Fist is a huge force multiplier[/sp]
When I first saw Carrie-Anne Moss's attorney character in Daredevil, I really hated her but by the end of watching Iron Fist, she's really grown on me.

I agree (unless you mean physically?)
Danny is just so angry and vindictive. He doesn't feel like a hero who's spent 15 years as a monk, he feels like the hero on on his way to becoming one. Like half the shit he does in the present would've gotten his old, wise master to hit him with a stick while coming up with some silly little proverb about discipline (Be mindful of your thoughts? Hatred leads to the dark side?). He doesn't seem to have any sense of control.
Last episode - [sp]how the fuck does Joy go from backing Danny in every way, even so far as confronting her father about framing him, all the way to listening to Davos about how he must be "removed" for ruining her life??[/sp]
Complete character turn around with zero motivation for why.
Also, Harold's [sp]"last words"[/sp] were pure gold.

Sony has added a film that will center around Black Cat and Silver Sable.
Sony needs to be stopped.

I don't buy literally a word Sony says.
We've been waiting about a decade for that Venom movie they've been announcing every few years and it wasn't too long ago we were gonna get "the adventures of young Aunt May".
They talk a big game but no way they go over Marvel's head to make any Spidey stuff on their own. There's too much money at stake.

are they really going to go through with Glass Ceiling? I thought that got canned aft Fan4stic
are they really going to go through with Glass Ceiling? I thought that got canned aft Fan4stic
fant4stic wasn't sony though
are they really going to go through with Glass Ceiling? I thought that got canned aft Ghostbusters
Fixed that for ya.
Honestly, the only reason the idea even got that far was because Amy Pascal said "I WAN MUH GIRL SUPEHEROS", but she got busted way down after the whole Ghostbusters fiasco.
Sony has learned time and time again that shit doesn't work out well when they disrespect the source material; if they just mash Black Cat and Sable into a movie about whatever cause "no lol get it they're both girls", people are gonna see right through it and it's gonna tank. Hard.
Honestly, they're in Marvel's good graces now. Literally no reason for them not to just keep all their Spidey stuff on the shelf until someone from Disney shows up with a check. They gotta realize what a good thing they've got going and just stay on the fucking bench, for all our sakes (but especially their own).
-they spent literally no time choreographing the fights are you kidding me-
I haven't bothered to watch Iron Fist just yet but holy shit is this for real? Like, is the fighting really that bad?
He's fucking Iron Fist, kung fu fights are his thing. This would be like if they were teaching John Bernthal proper trigger discipline right before the cameras started rolling, how could a production with this much pedigree (by which I mean Disney bux) behind it be put together this sloppily?

They certainly aren't that great or thrilling for a guy who is all about martial arts. They're pretty uninspired, look like choreography, and a lot of the hits don't have the impact they should. Much of the show feels more like a CW show rather than the last Marvel Netflix collaborations.
What exactly is in K'un L'un that is important enough for the city to have their greatest warrior just sit guard at the gate for fear of The Hand attacking it, exactly? They never really explained in the show why the Hand and K'un L'un are mortal enemies I don't think.

Frankly, I think they really could have used an episode or two completely focused on Danny's time at K'un Lun showing his training and conditioning [sp]with Davos[/sp], what he had to do to become the Iron Fist (instead of just being told and seeing the aftermath), and- like you said- dwell into the central conflict between the Hand and K'un Lun and what is so special about the place. The first few episodes had too much of the soap opera corporate drama that by the time the Hand starts becoming a thing it feels like two entirely different shows.
I also wish they had some creative hints at his costume, like a green button down shirt that is torn open during a fight to reveal his tattoo, or a green long sleeve shirt or something.

Charlie Cox said he gets his costume in Defenders, so Melvin will probably make it for him.
Also that exact slightly unbuttoned green button up shirt idea was used in the Defenders promo shot they took.
