I really love the colors on that suit. Wish the webbing was a bit more pronounced and I still don't like the mandatory "it's like real life, put some random black trim all over it" stuff, but goddamn those colors POP.
I'm not a fan of the leg trim. but everything else works imo
The design is really good regardless.
When i look at Raimi Spider-Man, i think "oh hey its Tugboat Spider-Man".
When i look at Webb Spider-Man, i think "oh hey, its Garfield Spider-Man".
But when i look at MCU Spider-Man, i dont think "Oh hey its Holland Spider-Man", or "Oh hey its MCU Spider-Man", i just think "Oh hey, its Spider-Man".
yeah it's the closest to a nice comic booky inspired design while staying sorta realistic
Here's my 2 cents on the Spider-man suit. I love the eyes, the small spider logo, the tick logo on the back and the dark web being thin and flat. But the other black lines on the blue sections... they put too many on the suit. I don't mind the thicker black lines around the joints. Except the wrists. They also made the web-shooters too visible in my opinion. Like they are an extra gadget instead of part of the suit.
Because of the things I mentioned at start of my post it is still the best suit we got so far. Though I have to admit, even though ASM2 was a bad movie the suit in there wasn't too bad either.
It's Holland who should get more praise than the suit. Although Tobey and Garfield has some qualities of Spider-man, Holland really feels like the whole package.

I disagree, actually.
The problem with doing the traditional webshooters is they'd invariably be awkward looking and have a noticable bump on the costume (same with his traditional utility belt) and the TASM and TASM2 webshooters looked out of place since they were so distinct and protruded from the suit so much.
The MCU suits black lines help the webshooters blend into the overall design better.

Not to mention there was a Spider-Man design where they were like, huge fucking clunky silver braclets at one point.

I think it was the Scarlet Spider design?
[editline]e[/editline]
It was, it was also Ben Reilly's design once Peter retired.
Being able to animate the eyes will make a huge difference.
Just saw Logan. That was pretty intense. I'm glad that Jackman's last movie as Wolverine was actually pretty strong
Did the (spoiler for ending of doctor strange) [sp]timeloop trick that strange pulled on Doramammu, feel like an asspull to anyone else[/sp]
They set it up earlier in the movie so I'm OK with it, I'm not OK with it as a plot device though. [sp]It's basically just a quicksave and if gaming has taught me anything it's that with enough of those, nothing is impossible. If Strange is as smart as he is, the moment shit hits the fan in the big teamup in Infinity Wars, he can just Groundhog Day it out over and over unless they somehow write him out of the fight(which I hope)[/sp]

[sp]Well, considering they made the Eye of Agamotto the time stone, I'm guessing it'll get destroyed and Thanos will get a hold of the gem?[/sp]

[sp]Well Thanos needs the gem, so.[/sp]

I thought he was able to do what he did because time didn't exist there

[sp]He stopped time on Earth first.[/sp] Then he went there while nothing happened on Earth, and introduced time to the place without.
I thought he was able to do what he did because time didn't exist there
He did it while on earth too, I think the timestone brought time to the timeless dimension. But I suppose he needs to see Thanos and the Black Order coming in order to have the spell ready and active.
If his accident took place during Ironman 2, then the reference of his name in the Winter Soldier would make a lot more sense.
However, how long does Dr Strange cover, from beginning of film to end then? They clearly mention the Avengers in the film, so the ending at least takes place after the Battle of New York.
Well yeah, why would a surgeon be a threat to Hydra?
That little spider drone is adorable, interested to see exactly how much tech they give Spidey. I hope after this film he's making it himself though.
Well yeah, why would a surgeon be threat to Hydra?
He's not covered through their HMO
So is there a reason none of the movies make any sort of reference to the Netflix heroes?
They've probably got bigger things to worry about, not to mention they're on a smaller scale mostly beating up low level thugs as opposed to Hydra goons and aliens from another world. The Hand are an exception, but they most likely don't know about them

Smaller scale heroes, also licensing.
I hope we get a scene with Stark and Parker brainstorming cool ideas for spidey's suit and most not working out

Ike Perlmutter and Kevin Feige not getting along. Ike runs the TV shows, Kevin does the films.
[editline]•[/editline]
And by "runs the TV shows" I mean delegates someone else to do it and just make money off the merchandising.
It's honestly pitiful that such drama has to hold the MCU back.
If it means I can hold out for a huge budget Iron Fist film set in the MCU one day I'll accept it. I think right now its a race between Ike and Feige trying to get IPs over to their side of Marvel and at some point we're gonna peak and Studios will just take their bigger street level IPs back and redo them or soft reboot them, maybe keeping the actors around. Maybe not for another phase or 2 but one day, if the MCU hasn't sputtered out, it'll happen, espacially if the shows don't learn their lesson of not having to be nitty gritty for every hero
Its also part of the reason Marvel Studios changed their logo, so people know its set in the MCU as opposed to the typical comic flip book Mrvel intro. I realised that while watching Logan.

So Venom is gonna be an R-rated horror film and the start of a universe.

Sony and in-fighting will be the downfall of the MCU, I can already tell.
The best advice I can offer about the Venom and Black Cat movies is to not go to the Emoji Movie, and tell others to not go as well. If Sony has to lop off the film division Disney is going to offer a fat check to get Spiderman, Venom et. all back into the fray so they can make the films and get the merchandising.

But nothing, not even a mention of Dare Devil on TV in the background? Even Agents of Shield got Fury, Sitwell, Maria Hill and the Triskelion, so there was some crossover. But Netflix guys seem to be limited to vague references
