Is Agents of Shield season 4 worth a watch? I stopped after s3 [sp]main reason I watched this show is for Brett fucking Dalton[/sp]
Still good without him?
it gets better every season, and season 4 is the best so far
the third arc is great for a lot of reasons.
Feige is like ummm we never discussed this.
Hopefully that means Marvel will get more say in what happens with these movies or are able to redirect them to not be made entirely.
but it just sounds like she has no idea what shes saying
I do wonder if Sony is trying to plan this so their standalone films make more money.
Disney just needs to buy Sony so they can prevent Spider-man MCU having complications post IW
They're probably gonna be like the Netflix series', Homecoming is canon to them but nothing the otherway.
Which is still retarded

Pretty much the best season they've had.
At this point it might be a good investment for Disney to just outright buy the Spider-Man rights back from Sony, if only to prevent Kevin from having a stroke as a result of dealing with so many crazy people.

Why does Amy Pascall always look drunk in ever singe one of her public appearances?

I mean, she may as well be. Would explain a lot :v:

She's literally mentally retarded
i finished season 4 of agents of shield over the weekend. rather enjoyable episodes throughout with my favourite being the midseason lmd story arc.
Amy Pascal is unbelievably stupid, like, to the point where I don't understand how she got anywhere near where she is today, or how that no one has replaced her.

It makes me really wonder if she has some blackmail on someone, especially since she was able to climb her way back up after the Sony hack revealed the racist things she said about Obama, and she got demoted for it.

Her mindset and mentality are rather common in the entertainment industry, and they value persistence and drive over intelligence or ability to organize talent.

See I almost have a hard time buying that over the blackmail/neoptism theories.
Just because the way she (and most Sony execs, it seems) are so COMICALLY stupid. They come off like parodies of network executives you'd see on The Simpsons and I honestly can't think of another company that makes so many hilariously bad decisions.
I mean, I'm sure there's files upon files of horrible scrapped concepts for the MCU over at Disney, but come on, "maybe Spidey could participate in a tough mudder and listen to EDM music, the millenials are really into this "SNAP-CHAT", I think we should apply the MCU mentality to Ghostbusters of all things, etc."
I could maybe see that mindset flying back in the 70's or maybe 80's when no one really gave a shit about the accuracy of your adaptation (the idea of Superman spinning the world backwards or giving the Joker a name and backstory seems fucking outrageous by today's standards), but not in a world where Marvel has clearly established what the public wants and enjoys.
It all reminds me a lot of Kevin Smith's experience with John Peters:

Amy Pascal is like that mother who never speaks to her son but when they are in public and she is talking to someone she compliments him for qualities he doesn't have
Looks like Midnight's Edge just did a video on the whole kerfuffle.

"Fantastic Four film aimed at kids"
as if the previous attempts werent
This just in: the Fantastic Four still suck
Honestly, a kid-friendly adaptation would work perfectly. They're Marvel's first family and the reason they don't work so well these days is because they're fucking silly. It's classic sci-fi schlock with a strong "power of family/friendship" element at its core, not to mention how they've all got weird and wacky powers (we understand why Spider-Man can stick to walls and why Wolverine has claws, Thing is just made out of rocks because SPACE ENERGY) and matching singlets (and a flying car that looks like a bathtub).
Making a nice, lighthearted sci-fi adventure sounds like the absolute best way to go about adapting something like that. That said, coming from the minds behind "we took a parody book series and threw millions of dollars at it and oops it bombed" doesn't leave me too optimistic.
I've seen people suggest an MCU period piece set in the 60's involving time-travel and dimension hopping (explaining how they end up in the modern day) and that's always sounded really promising, if only because it's weird in such a way that perfectly compliments the F4.

Give it to Lord and Miller, now that they've walked off of the Han Solo movie.
dude they've made a movie about a guy who can shrink and talk to ants because of a helmet and it worked

But that's exactly my point. Executives look at stuff like Fant4stic and wonder "gee, why did this dreary, grim, slog of a film about fire boy, clear girl, rock dude, and professor stretch do poorly?"
Ant-Man worked because it was an off-beat, lighthearted adventure where the hero rides his pet ant into battle and fights the villain on his daughter's Thomas the Tank Engine playset. If they made a Fantastic 4 movie that was an upbeat science adventure in the same way that Ant-Man was an upbeat heist adventure, it'd work out perfectly.

And then you look at the older series where the people in charge insisted on a bunch of dumb bullshit to make it "cool", like casting Jessica Alba and insisting that Doctor Doom couldn't have an accent. Don't try to make the F4 cool. They're a super powered family who fight aliens and wizards in a flying bathtub. Just do that and people will like it, so long as it's a well-made film.
Ironically, the best F4 film is the shoestring-ass Roger Coreman one from the 90's, just because it's so sincere. A little bit of effort makes all the difference in the world.
:snip:
Having just recently seen GOTG 2, I really can't get over how cool yet simple in design the sentient arrow weapon is.
I want to see dr doom be done right on the big screen. He's supposed to be cheesy and a threat! Especially with a name like doom he HAS to have some cheese
Apparently Carnage is going to be the main villain of the Venom movie
Sony will get a to-be-determined Marvel character for Spider-Man 2 like it received for Homecoming with the box-office monster Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr. But sources say it won't be Iron Man next time around.
Thinking it could be Captain America, but maybe if Spider-man 2 is mysterio we'll get Doctor Strange?

Peter and Strange have some good books together, I'd like to see that. I don't think it will be Cap because Evans has been clear after Avengers he's done.

Wasn't that just a rumor though?
