My favorite thing about this spider-man is how bug-like he is in the way he's so jumpy/athletic/energetic in the way he moves Like you know how you look at a bug and they'll kinda skitter around like a fly being in one spot then suddenly another? He moves around like that a lot it seems. I also like how he does the crazy backflip in ceremonially to stand by when happy walks in. There's just so much life and energy in the way he moves around a lot. [editline]7th July 2017[/editline] iirc tom holland is a super gymnast IRL so I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of stunts are "practical" minus putting the CGI layer over his prop costume

Everybody knows that spiders are reptiles.
See me after class
I did this on purpose
Just got back from it. Loved it. I would probably say it's the best Spiderman movie ever, except that I'm biased because I grew up with the Raimi films and still count Spiderman 2 as one of my top 5 all time favorite comic book films. It definitely is the closest to the comics, though, and that definitely counts for a whole lot. Also, is it just me, or have comic book villains suddenly got good this year? We already had[sp]Ego[/sp], and I thought Ares was cool too. And now we have the Vulture, who, A, actually has a clear motivation and isn't wasted, and B,[sp]survives the events of the film. Between that and the setup for Scorpion, I think the Sinister Six is definitely happening some time down the line.[/sp] Also, people are saying that Donald Glover was playing[sp]Aaron Davis, aka the Ultimate universe Prowler, which means the nephew he mentions is Miles Morales. Holy shit, they really do have this whole thing planned out waaaay ahead[/sp]

I didn't even know that [sp]miles had an uncle, and I figured it was him when they said nephew. Is that a tad racist?[/sp] :v:
I think it's more of just an easter egg over actually leading to something any time soon.
homecoming's post credits scene [sp]fucking killed me best one they've ever done[/sp]
I loved Spiderman, I'd say its the best Spiderman movie to date and one of Marvel's best movies. One thing really caught me off guard though, although I thought it was great in its own right if a massive tonal shift. [sp]When he goes to confront Vulture after tracking him to his shop, and Vulture drops the roof on him. I was expecting a quip about it and Peter to crawl out of it and dust himself off before chasing Vulture down. I was absolutely not expecting Peter to struggle and fail to escape, then start crying and begging for help. Like it was real as fuck and I loved it for that, but goddamn did the tone take a hard shift right then that caught me off guard.[/sp]

First trailer for it revealed at D23?
Has it been filiming long enough for a trailer?
Filming started months ago, and ends next week, so they'll have enough footage for a trailer, but I doubt it'll be that. Most likely promo shots, BTS stuff and concept art. Maybe [sp]Black Order[/sp] reveal.
I think I heard that, with Civil War, they got some exclusive early footage shown that they did not show elsewhere. Maybe attendees might similarly get some early footage revealed for Infinity War too? Or, it could be something like more concept art.
I think a 30 second clip of the Guardians meeting Thor in space would be pretty cool
I think a 30 second clip of the Guardians meeting Thor in space would be pretty cool
That reminds me of those older rumors floating around of how Hulk was going to be in Guardians Vol 2 after the events of Ultron. :v: But, yeah, Thor seeing the Guardians after Ragnarok would be super cool, especially if Hulk and Dr Strange are still around in some capacity too.

The "come on Spider-Man" combined with that beautiful score hit me right where I live.[/sp] [editline]8th July 2017[/editline] Saw Homecoming last night, here's my takeaway: THE GOOD: [sp]-The lifting scene -Practical sets and effects (Pete crawling into his room and dropping from the ceiling when Ned sees him was all one shot and it looked really good) -Vulture is the best MCU villain to date, Keaton was amazing -I actually really liked Liz as a character, nice to see she's best girl here as well as in Spectacular -The action was actually really slick -Iron Man wasn't in it for more than maybe 5 minutes, it was very much Peter's movie -I'm so glad he rejected that shit-tier Iron Spider suit at the end -Literally nearly every named character in this movie was from the comics, and that's cool -Some really nice cinematography (the shot of Keaton at the red light when he finds out Pete is Spider-Man is great) -Flash actually worked pretty well, despite not being an aryan super-jock, I actually really felt for Peter after the whole "Penis Parker" thing at Liz's party -Name-drops/references were both cool and subtle, this wasn't an Iron Man 2 or Amazing Spider-Man 2 where the whole goal is to promote movies that haven't happened yet -This movie gets my infinite respect for keeping Spidey strictly street-level instead of fast-tracking him into the Avengers for the sake of marketing synergy -The comedy honestly worked really well -Spider-Man didn't shut the fuck up for even a second and that's exactly how it's supposed to be; also no mumbling or weird pseudo-Brooklyn accent[/sp] THE BAD: [sp]-I don't like how his suit is 100% Stark-tech, Peter doesn't need an AI to talk to or 500 different types of webs. Give him Spider-Tracers, the Spider-Signal, and then have him create the rest of his kit on his own. -Zendaya can't act to save her life, really don't get why they cast her -Ending gag is funny, but I was really hoping one of the post-credits scenes showed Pete explaining his way out of it (May can know, but Peter can't know she knows); that said, the Cap PSA is a top-tier stinger -Woulda liked at least one mention/appearance from Uncle Ben in some way. There's that "everything she's been through" line, but it's still a big part of his character; woulda been nice during that montage of May getting Pete ready for the dance, maybe it was Ben's old tuxedo or something -While some shots were nice, others were a complete mess; when Toomes grabs Pete and flies him around the first time, the camera is just spinning all over the place and it's impossible to even see what's happening. I get they were trying to convey Pete's bafflement and surprise, but there's other ways to do that than to just whip your camera around until everything blends together, especially when it's being viewed on the big screen -Some of the CGI was ROUGH[/sp] THE WEIRD: [sp]-The whole MJ reveal was exactly what I expected; you could cut Zendaya out of the entire movie and it would play exactly the same. She was completely unnecessary aside from that little gag at the end and it just comes off like "oh, we were afraid to actually race-bend this character, so here's an OC who's also named MJ". If you're gonna do something like that, actually commit. -Tony and Pepper's engagement was cute, but the bit went on a bit long; it kinda felt like it stole Pete's thunder during the finale -I would've liked some reference to Jameson or the Bugle; it's been over a decade since we last saw JJJ on screen. I know JK Simmons was basically made for the role, but are they really so intimidated by living up to his performance after so long? If they don't put him in the sequel (especially since this one sets up that Pete wants to stay independent and street-level rather than moving upstate to be an Avenger), it'd be a massive oversight IMO[/sp] Overall, pleasantly surprised, I liked it more than I expected to. Now all we need is for the Emoji Movie to bomb and Sony to sell the Spidey rights back to Marvel for some emergency cash.
wow what? I thought zendaya was fucking great I'm shocked you would think this she added so much to the film in the short time she was in it
homecoming needed more shocker
homecoming needed more shocker
Honestly kinda wish [sp]the first guy didn't die, he had the perfect personality for Shocker, the second guy was too serious.[/sp]
wow what? I thought zendaya was fucking great I'm shocked you would think this she added so much to the film in the short time she was in it
She literally did nothing in the film I'm hoping we get Mary Jane Watson in the next movie [Sp] it's pretty cool you see her and Gwen at one point in the movie[/sp]
Anyone else think the MCU timeline's a bit of a mess?
Nobody gets to talk about superhero movie timelines being a mess when the X-Men film series is till ongoing, in which every single fucking movie manages to contradict the last one while trying to explain the one before that.
X-Men film series is till ongoing.
Wait, it's still going? I thought it was over with Logan?
Wait, it's still going? I thought it was over with Logan?
Nah that was only the end of Hugh Jackman's run.
But literally everyone is dead
But literally everyone is dead
Deadpool 2 is introducing the time traveler Cable. Btw if you ever want to experience an aneurysm, look up the Summers family tree and try to make sense of it, you can thank Cable for a good chunk of that. [editline]9th July 2017[/editline] Plus, Logan is like a continuity time bomb anyway. When the time period rolls around again in the films it'll be ignored so either time travel stops it from happening or its not acknowledged and everything breaks again.
I'm pretty sure that was Betty Brant, not Gwen
Ah maybe I keep forgetting Betty is blonde in the movie
