here's a compilation of interviews at d23. i especially liked josh brolin's comment about tom
I'm abstaining from anything trailer related until it's actually out (all these spoiler bars are murder) but just the cast's reaction alone in these interview already has me electric. Their reactions and the way they talk about the franchise really says how much care, love and respect they have for the properties. Nobody's plain faced, phoning it in or waiting to leave for the next interview. It's great to see how passionate both the cast & crew are for these films. Also Tom & Benedict seem to play off each other pretty well. A Spidey & Doctor Strange movie would be great.
Finally got around to iron fist after what feels like ages of it being available 10/10, good casting, characters and none of it felt like wasted time to me. Ending kinda meh I guess but I found everything else pretty riveting even though [sp]Iron Fist never gets a permanent costume[/sp] I was concerned about Claire being forced but she was for the most part pretty well placed. Just gotta finally watch Cage and I'll be ready for next month
I'm in the opposite boat, I've had Luke Cage finished for a while but I'm wading through my backlog to get to Iron Fist. I can tell you I really enjoyed it. Great casting, I found the story very enjoyable and that opening theme is gonna get stuck in your head.
I meant to watch Luke cage first but pops wanted to check out iron fist and it was really interesting so I stuck to it [editline]17th July 2017[/editline] Wasn't expecting it cuz I've always thought he was kinda lame personally

Will he play MODOK? :v:
Since at this point I don't know if I'm going to see Spider-Man: Homecoming or not, I decided to spoil myself the whole issue behind Zendaya's character, since it's my understanding it caused some ruckus around the Web. [sp]Now, I've already said elsewhere on this board that I don't give two fucks about Spider-Man in general, so I couldn't pass as a Spider-Man comics canon purist by any stretch of the imagination: if they decided to do a racebending to such a central character of the Peter Parker's mythos, Mary Jane Watson, then be my guest. I don't like racebending in general when it comes to fiction and adaptations. That said, is there a particular reason that Zendaya's character isn't ACTUALLY named Mary Jane in the movie? It's not like the twist wouldn't had worked otherwise, because I'm being told no one actually call her by her name or nickname for the majority of the film. So, if her character is clearly supposed to be the MCU version of Mary Jane Watson, why chose a different name, Michelle Jones? Why Zendaya herself and various people involved in the making of Homecoming are still being awfully vague about the whole thing? At this point I must really think that the writers and the producers alike were really trying to racebend the character, but decided to change her name and instructed everyone involved to be as evasive as possible about it so that, if fans reaction to the change will be massively negative, they'll have an handy way to pretend the whole thing never happened in the first place[/sp]
[sp]Amy Pascal. But in serious it's likely this line was made after the bs story that Michelle Gonzalez was actually MJ. It's not vague at all. They call her Michelle through the entire movie. They already sidestepped any rage by already confirming it's not Mary Jane with Feige confirming it. Just a really dumb, confusing joke literally intended to instigate internet arguments. Nothing more.[/sp]

I was really disappointed they didn't play Iron Man's theme in Homecoming. They had one perfect place to play it, and they decided to create a new one. What the hell?
Alright, fine but ... why?
Controversy! Artifice! Fanboyism! [editline]18th July 2017[/editline] Seriously, it's nothing more than a move to stir up shit. Wanna make Mary Jane black, latino, or Laotian, that's a-okay, but don't string people along like it's supposed to be some radical move
Alright, fine but ... why?
You're talking about the movie, aren't you? I think the phrase goes "there's no such thing as bad publicity in showbiz"
I was really disappointed they didn't play Iron Man's theme in Homecoming. They had one perfect place to play it, and they decided to create a new one. What the hell?
Honestly, I liked this music more than the ones in the Amazing series, but I still feel like Elfman's themes and general tone would've suited it better and made some parts feel less hokey and more grounded. That said, Elfman would've probably made his own Iron Man theme too so, continuity musically goes out the window no matter what you do. Just makes me more impressed with Henry Jackman though; the Cap scores have been really solid and even series that he didn't score initially, like Uncharted, he still made heavy use of the established themes and it just sounded so damn cool and fitting.
Woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and heard Ward Meachum's voice. Walked in to see why incase I was losing it and both my parents were watching Iron Fist. My dads seen all of daredevil and like 2 eps of JJ and Cage, but my moms never watched any of it. She's seen some movies though. She'll probably appreciate that there's more emotional drama than action, and my dads favorite movie is Wall Street so the corporate stuff won't bore him. Just unexpected.
OK, when I saw Spiderman Homecoming, why wasn't this obvious to me?: [t]http://cdn1-www.comingsoon.net/assets/uploads/9300/09/file_593695_birdman-poster.jpg[/t] I'm going to get so many late ratings for this.
I'm around episode four of Jessica Jones. Nor that I harbor any ill will towards lesbians, mind you, but ... why all the lesbian drama? I'm also told that in the comics the character of Jeri Hogarth is in fact a male, so there's also that

Michael Keaton just loves things with wings. Nothing wrong with that. Can't wait for him to get cast as Hawkman in the DC universe next
Maybe the Golden Arches on the founder poster are secretly Ray Kroc's angelic wings Edit: [t]http://i.imgur.com/aHxjoCT.jpg[/t] How did I never see it before...
He's also batman
Oh yeah; [t]https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/9f/49/87/9f4987f217905743bcf32736503351ee--birdman-batman-batman-.jpg[/t]
Now we need one with the Vulture
Does anyone have a picture of the scene from Spiderman where [sp]the Vulture flies into the night sky as a reference to Batman?[/sp] I only heard about it after I saw the movie and I don't really want to go see it again just to watch out for that one scene :v:
there was a really cool shot in homecoming with [sp]the vulture in front of the moon when he drops spidey from a height into the lake[/sp] i don't know if you're referring to that one tho
there was a really cool shot in homecoming with [sp]the vulture behind the moon when he drops spidey from a height into the lake[/sp] i don't know if you're referring to that one tho
You mean [sp]In front of the moon? [/sp]
You mean [sp]In front of the moon? Just saw the new Spidey. Holy fuck, Vulture is by far the best MCU villain, film wise. Though what was with his sudden [sp] " I ain't saying shit" stance in prison? Is it out of new found respect for Spidey or is it him just protecting his daughter? [/sp]
[sp]and maybe a little bit about his daughter, but mostly recognizing him as a good kid[/sp]
Finally saw Spider-Man: Homecoming. Absolutely blown away. Loved it. Tom Holland did not disappoint and [sp]the amount of MCU related teasers like Thor's Magic Belt etc.[/sp] were amazing. Can't wait to see his story continue in Infinity War.
Was there any credit scenes in Spider-man? I didn't wait I had to go.
Was there any credit scenes in Spider-man? I didn't wait I had to go.
[sp]One scene after the initial credits montage of Mac Gargan asking Vulture if he knew who Spider-man was, saying he wants to kill him and heard that he might know. Vulture denies it by saying that if he knew he'd already be dead. He then walks on to see his family at the visitation area. At end of credits there's a Captain America PSA about patience where he explains that waiting doesn't always pay off, leaving you to wonder why you waited for something disappointing[/sp] cam of the post credits thats still up: https://youtu.be/FyQNq596Q84
Saw Spiderman Homecoming today and I thought it was Fantastic. Keaton pulls of Vulture fantastically, RDJ didn't overstay his welcome in the movie, Flash was easily the worst character in the movie and I don't get the hate over Zendaya as Michelle in the movie. Her character isn't suppose to give a shit and I think she pulled it off well
