I don't like the drunk either.
It's wasted time in a setup for another "darn we failed again guess the arc will be longer" that also plagued other shows like Jessica Jones. Except Tennant gave an incredible performance, and I say this as someone who disliked him previously. The drunk gave about the performance I can expect from a cocky guy who's typically only done stunt before.
Should've just re-used Scythe, guy had the best intro in the show just to be another guy in a mortal kombat tournament
I liked the drunk. Felt like a homage to the old kungfu movie characters like Jackie Chan's Drunken Master.

I finished putting all of my dad's Silver Surfer comics into a spreadsheet.
He has two boxes full of Marvel comics mostly from the late 80s and early 90s and wants to sell a lot of them.
I thought I'd share some of the cool looking ones with you guys.

my dad also has a bunch of early 80's-mid 90's comics in a box, they're in great condition and I need to sort through them sometime
I wish the action scenes in Defenders didn't exclusively take place in dark places where you have almost no idea what's actually going on thanks to everyone wearing black and constant cuts.
Also [sp] the power level of the characters is all over the fucking place in the show, when characters have a fight it's not up to who is the better fighter, it's who the plot wants to win at this particular point. Also, how did nobody even think about bringing a gun to a knife fight at any point? For a bunch ruthless pragmatist villains, the Hand sure loves their swords and kung-fu. [/sp]
I think I'm getting bothered with the same kind of "look" and settings they keep using.
At first, I was really enthused, but now I'm not. At least Agents of SHIELD had a variety of places to go to.
I wish they were more daring, artistically. I absolutely hate the washed out, 'concrete' look they've got in every one of these shows
Daredevil had some fun with its visuals from time to time, Iron Fist did alright with some of Ward's [sp]hallucination[/sp] scenes, and Luke Cage was the boldest one (though not by much). Remember the flashback with Cottonmouth's uncle? Or *that* fight scene in DD S1? It was so refreshing to see some creative freedom, before they inevitably devolved back into the CSI-esque blandness that Marvel keeps sticking to
spiderman looked great, it had vibrant, grounded colors
Just finished the Defenders. Overall I'd say it was pretty solid, although I agree with other's comments that some of the fight sequences and cuts were a bit wonky (especially at the start of EP1, what was happening there). Everybody works well together and I've got to say that Danny is a lot better when he has someone to call him out on being a dumb kid. I think there's a lot of potential for character relationships in future, including the classic Luke Cage/Iron Fist team-up.
Really hoping Danny is better in future series. I like the comic book character a lot, and in my opinion there is a lot of really, really good stuff that's going to waste with everything they've done so far. Basically everything to do with Kun'Lun and the history of the Iron Fists as well as what he can actually do as Iron Fist. All of that stuff is interesting, and so is who Danny Rand is as a person stuck between two different worlds, but I just don't see any of it in Netflix's IF.
Iron Fist doesn't have to be smart, because he's not really, he's a guy who knows how to punch real, real good. He doesn't know much about his business, and sure, coming back into the world would leave him a bit behind. But he should not be petulantly dumb. Like I get that he's supposed to have a lot of pride about being Iron Fist, but it's literally all he goes on about while usually whinging about the burden of being Iron Fist. He needs to get a grip.
He's not my main complaint with the series though, and again, not to say that I disliked the series, I thoroughly enjoyed all of it, enough to watch the whole thing over two nights. I have to spoiler tag my biggest gripe, because I don't want to give too much away about the series:
Claire[sp] Temple. Why is she there? What does she do? She was supposed to be Night Nurse, only not for real because the creator had other ideas (there's quote I'm thinking of but I don't have it to hand right now). It's a shame really because I like Rosario Dawson and I liked the character of Claire at first, but as the solo series wore on I've found her increasingly just, boring. All she does is get involved with superheroes and then complain that she is involved with superheroes.
I think what annoys me most about her is that her character just seems all over the place. It's like she had to be relevant to every Defender so she's some super nurse in Daredevil, then she's a reluctant medic for heroes in Jessica Jones, then she's some doting lover for Luke in his series before becoming some honourary ninja warrior with Danny and Colleen in Iron Fist.
She's just so wishy washy, and the same conversation she had with Colleen about 5 different times about her not being sure why she's there, but she's there because she's into it and she's just as important as the actual heroes - that got old the first time I heard it, and it was much worse hearing it again in the late episodes when actual things were happening around them but no! Colleen and Claire need to stop and chat about how being a foundation is a perfectly fine role. Why Claire had to make Colleen sound like some decking or furniture rather than some badass sword lady is beyond me. It was like neither of them knew why they were there and they just kept on propping eachother up with these momentum crushing self esteem chats[/sp]
They should go "fuck it", take Danny, put him in the suit, and make Season 2 a tournament arc involving martial artists from the comic universe.
I'll be perfectly honest: after witnessing the Hand ruining the second season of Daredevil, me having what can only be called a light hatred towards both Jessica Jones and Iron Fist and having being spoiled some, shall we say, questionable plot elements from the new series (namely [The Defenders][sp]Elektra being revived and becoming the main antagonist even if Matt's love apparently redemeed her at the end of Daredevil's second season and the writers trying their hardest to convince us that Matt is dead even if a third season of Daredevil has been announced[/sp]) I'm not exactly jumping to see The Defenders.
I may give Luke Cage a chance this week out of sheer boredom, however
I just got around to Luke Cage and after 2 episodes I gotta say its pretty captivating

It falls off hard unfortunately. It suffers like DD2, JJ, and IF. Outside of a few characters you dont end up giving a shit about the rest.

This is pretty much exactly what I'd like to see.
Defenders final episode spoilers: [sp]I was waiting all season for them to put him in a goddamn costume, and then what we got at the end... Just why? Daredevil's makeshift costume in S1 was more Iron Fist than a green tracksuit. I don't know why they won't cover his face when he constantly wears hoodies and stuff in IF S1 to hide the stunt switch.[/sp]
[Sp]The fact Danny even did the whole DD pose and was clearly trying to honour Matts memory at the end, they had the PERFECT oppurtunity to put him in the mask so A) nobody realized Matt had "died B) to reference Marts first costume to pay tribute[/sp]

i remember watching it and, for some reason, thinking it ended on episode 11 ([sp]bar shootout, shades and diamondback just leave[/sp]). was completely satisfied with it too, before i found out there were 2 more eps and [sp]the end is basically rocky V[/sp]
Well I can safely say now that [sp]Iron Man is going to die in Infinity War[/sp].
[sp]RDJ has been almost exclusively starring in MCU films since Avengers, with maybe one or two films in-between larger projects after Iron Man 3 was done. Then after Infinity War, the guy has like FOUR films slated, meaning he'll have considerably more spare time, meaning his character's the most likely to die.
Second, this armor is just straight up Asgardian design, and it's obviously using an infinity stone - the Space stone has been in containment in Asgard for like five years until the whole place got blown up, so I'm predicting Stark is going to get that stone, put it in his suit and wear it while fighting Thanos, similar to how in the comics Thor gave him a piece of Asgardian tech and Tony immediately used it to build himself the Thorbuster suit.
And since Thanos is after the stones, he's going to grab Stark, smash his chest, and pull that stone out before throwing him into the vacuum of space.[/sp]
Marvel doesn't have the balls
Luke Cage's second half was really disappointing. Cottonmouth was interesting, Diamondback was annoying and his plot was too dated.

RDJ is 52. He can't do this gig forever. Either they retire his character quietly, or they kill him off. I'm betting the latter. The only question is whether they do it in Avengers 3, 4, or both of them (curbstomped by Thanos, infinity stone resurrection, then killed off for real)

Didn't Robert Downy Jr. just recently say he wouldn't mind doing small cameos in the future, or am I confusing him with Chris Evans?

I think they both said they're fine with it
To continue harping on Inhumans but not harping enough about it, they put up posters of some of the characters. They were all cheaply made and look fucking terrible as usual, but I still shake my head at Black Bolt.

Are they trying to make Inhumans look as terrible as is humanly possible?

Don't you mean as inhumanly possible? :v:

GO TO THE CORNER AND THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'VE DONE!
So turns out Logan had a deleted scene during dinner.

So either the execs give/gave even less of a shit about continuity, or, looking at it more positively, they decided to give the people behind the film more freedom
man that scene reminds me of how heartbreaking and good patrick stewart's acting was
The original Logan script had an intro where the X-Men are killed off.
They omitted it because it became more about the X-Men than of Logan and his wacky adventure.
and yeah, I think it's better that the scene became deleted in the case of continuity. After all, Cable needs to exist in some way.
Just looked it up (since I've never read any Marvel material, only watched 90's tv shows based on it) - Cable is supposed to be Jean Grey and Cyclops' son?
They could have easily changed it, right? Marvel Studios changed Ultron's origin story a little bit
He's a pretty popular mutant who's the child of two really well known and loved characters, i dont think they'd want to change his origin
It depends which timeline Deadpool is in
The correct answer is all of them.
