Things are still up in the air. The Emoji Movie was a modest success (it made about 3X its budget, which sounds really impressive until you factor in how much they probably spent on advertising) and Spider-Man did gangbusters; so basically, they got enough money to keep chugging for another summer or so, but they also saw Marvel make a bigass profit with their property. So while it's not the ideal scenario of Sony shutting down the film branch and liquidating Spidey and pals to Marvel, there's a chance that they'll at least work together on future projects, which is better than nothing I suppose.
Actually Spider-man is right behind Batman in licensing profits, so Sony's probably all smiles on several fronts, not just movies.
Does Sony get the merch rights? Because Ultimate Spider-Man is 100% Disney and I feel like they wouldn't make it such a blatant toy commercial of a show if Sony ended up bringing home that take.

I'm honestly not excited about Punisher after the Defenders.
So here is footage of the Halloween overlay for Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout: [sp]It features a creature from Thor Ragnarok[/sp].
im glad that marvel is perpetually not allowed in disney world because for them to tear down the tower of terror to replace it with that would be horrible
im glad that marvel is perpetually not allowed in disney world because for them to tear down the tower of terror to replace it with that would be horrible
To be fair, nothing is holding Guardians back since they are currently replacing the Universe of Energy with them already. I personally feel that the only thing saving Tower currently is that 80% of Hollywood Studios is under construction and that they can't afford to shut down another E ticket attraction.

They also can't use the Marvel name if they put something allowed like Guardians. It's kind of a mess legally. Disney World is gonna keep its Tower of Terror, which was always better than Disneyland's half-baked tower anyway.
Disney World is gonna keep its Tower of Terror, which was always better than Disneyland's half-baked tower anyway.
If The Great Movie Ride wasn't safe, neither is Tower. While I don't think it will be any time soon, I think eventually all the parks will lose The Twilight Zone theming one way or another, especially since how they propped up Mission Breakout's success at the last D23.
Also how people had a collective aneurysm about Tower of Terror getting the axe. They hadn't finalized the Florida one just yet and realized it'd be bad for business and that they could just stick something in Universe of Energy instead.
I'm honestly not excited about Punisher after the Defenders.
Different showrunners, writers, actors, and directors. Also Punisher is a character who's premise works so well you would need to intentionally butcher it to near beyond recognition to actually make it bad. War Zone for example, is campy schlock, but its amazing campy schlock, and thats probably considered the worst of the live action stuff. The premise of course being "shoots criminals real good", because he's essentially a horror movie slasher villain. Jon Bernthal proved he makes for a killer ass Frank back in DD Season 2 so at the very worst we'll have some excellent Frank acting that'll carry the show. Also the few clips of fighting in the trailer looked promising because Punisher has a more brutal and quick fighting style compared to the fancy special effects heavy martial arts of the other Netflix heroes, being that he's former military and uses guns primarily.
My only complaint with War Zone is they overdo the trashy violence and language in bad ways [editline]17th September 2017[/editline] But some things were still good

I also could see them putting in Mission Breakout in Hollywood Studios solely due to the positive reception it got after it opened in California.

More hyped for Punisher than I was for DD season 2
Easiest way to fuck with the canon: The guy who played Colossus in X-Men 1/2/Last Stand is coming back, but it is currently unknown if he's reprising his role

The completely fucked up continuity.
Almost like Edward Norton coming back to the MCU.
Chris Evans: Human Torch or Captain America?
Chris Evans: Human Torch or Captain America?
To be fair, Fantastic Four was never part of the MCU. The Incredible Hulk was supposed to be in the MCU, and the movie is referenced, it's just that somewhere between the movie and the Avengers, Bruce got a makeover.
I'm okay with Rhodey getting a new actor even though Cheadle looks way too old now, but I'm more than bothered with the shift from Norton to Ruffalo. In hindsight, they shouldn't have gone with Norton, who seems to have a reputation for being really selective with his movies.
Cheadle is being replaced?

Remember how Marvel Entertainment deliberately sabotaged the X-Men for years due to movie rights? Remember how they were pushing the Inhumans for years because they own the movie rights? Leading to it being downgraded to a TV show, which they hyped up and built up to with all the Inhuman stuff in AOS and all the Inhuman pushing in the comics, where they were presented as the hot new shit and were so much better than the X-Men and Inhuman Inhuman Inhuman Inhumans? https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/marvel/inhumans/it-appears-as-if-marvels-inhumans-has-been-cancelled-by-abc-before-season-1-even-airs-a153972
It Appears As If Marvel's INHUMANS Has Been Cancelled By ABC Before Season 1 Even Airs Marvel's Inhumans has been torn apart by critics and word of mouth isn't pointing to particularly strong ratings when it debuts on ABC. As a result, it appears as if the show has already been cancelled. Things have not been looking good for Inhumans for quite some time. Set photos and the first official image weren't at all well-received, while the trailers for the series pointed to the ABC/IMAX collaboration not being anywhere near as good as all that talk of a big budget suggested. In terms of box office performance, Inhumans did only ok earlier this month and ratings are expected to be low. As a result, it probably won't surprise you to learn that ABC and Marvel seem to be preparing for the worst. According to Renew Cancel TV, the network is promoting Inhumans as "the COMPLETE series" rather than a first season and that's led them to believe plans for a second season have been scrapped. I had long lost respect for him.
