[sp]So the billboard thing actually was a scam? I had no idea until I opened up the thread. Was there something in the episode I missed or were you guys just speculating?[/sp]

Was there something in the episode I missed or were you guys just speculating?[/sp]
[sp]When the billboard guy is "rescued" by Jimmy the guy says "Took you long enough" and they shake their hands in a very "friendly" manner which lets us know that there is some sort of a relationship between the two of them.[/sp] [editline]24th February 2015[/editline] Although as ColossalSoft mentioned, I never thought that [sp]Jimmy was smart enough to set the billboard up knowing that C&D would happen so that he could rescue the guy and gain publicity. I just thought he came up with that plan after C&D. But then again he was/is a "con artist". Also makes alot more sense.[/sp]
[sp]Jimmy went into the tailor a list to match the suit exactly, he knew exactly what he was doing[/sp]
[sp]So the billboard thing actually was a scam? I had no idea until I opened up the thread.
[sp]He knew it would result in a C&D, then he could stage the rescue on TV to gain attention.[/sp]
[sp]I knew he did the C&D on purpose, but I thought that was so he could get the media on his side. And when that failed, I thought he made the video as a last-ditch effort. But I must've blinked and missed the handshake, now I'm all caught up. Thanks guys.[/sp]
[sp]What I love most about Jimmys cons is how you never see them coming right up until the handshake, It also adds more to how Jimmy seen right through those two skater brothers ruse earlier.[/sp]
That intro flashback was top-notch.
I got a real Mr. Show vibe from stoner Bob Odenkirk

After that episode, whenever I heard Saul Goodman's name, I'll just keep hearing it being said as "S'all good, man"
I can't even pronounce it anymore. "S'all good, man" "Saul good, man" "Saulgood man" i have to force it pretty hard now to actually say "Saul Goodman" which ends up sounding weird in my mind. What have they done with me. Fuck.
One particular thing I noticed [sp]was during the billboard scene, Jimmy kept looking behind every 20 seconds. At first I took no notice of it but now I know upon reflection that this was a really obvious tell-tale sign of this being a con. He's just waiting for him to deliberately fuck up so he can save the day and score more for his business[/sp] [sp]Also considering the hefty bribe he got from the Kettlemen's, he had to make sure when laundering it, he had enough business to warrant that much cash. So this con was brilliant not just for him but for his future business. Remember, he found a rock and now he's building his church on it[/sp]
[sp]The guy says something like "It took you long enough", implying that he knew Jimmy was gonna 'save' him[/sp]
[sp]Same fist bump sorta deal happened too, similar to that at the start.[/sp]
Oh christ, i was starting to read the spoilers then realised it related to yesterdays episode. Anyone else miss breaking bad and then watch it afterwards. I watched a season a week for a month and a half (took a break before 4th season), so I could watch the next one once 'getting into it' For Better call Saul i've been watching it weekly. What a pain now I get to experience the cliffhanger..
Does anyone know the name of the weird medical issue Chuck has? They might have mentioned it but I forgot.

[sp]I thought the billboard set-up was a little bait, saw it coming from the moment the guy fell off. The first scam was really good though.[/sp] Great ep.
Am I the only one who totally believed the billboard scene until I came to this thread?
Am I the only one who totally believed the billboard scene until I came to this thread?
I believed it too, I just thought the guy was being an asshole when he said "took you long enough".
Does anyone know the name of the weird medical issue Chuck has? They might have mentioned it but I forgot.
It's called [sp]bullshit.[/sp] [sp]More seriously though, it's some kind of nocebo effect.[/sp]
Am I the only one who totally believed the billboard scene until I came to this thread?
I'm not trying to make fun of you, but... seriously? This whole show has basically been built around Jimmy conning people.
Yeah and it's why he didn't [sp]want Chuck to know... as he'd see right through it As if he'd seriously want that suit or that logo, he got rid of the hair cut straight away. We know Saul. Look at him eye up the brightly coloured shirt and tie we all associate him with. If he was being genuine that's what he would've bought, instead he wanted to smear HHM and promote himself. Fooled Hamlin into thinking he had a victory and made it into his own, just like he did to the dude at the start with the watch.[/sp]
I'm not trying to make fun of you, but... seriously? This whole show has basically been built around Jimmy conning people.
I thought it was just a lucky fluke and [sp]Hamlin was pissed because he managed to edge him out that way[/sp] Plus the whole thing with Chuck and the [sp]newspaper I thought was to do with the fact that he might get suspicious of the fact that Jimmy somehow managed to get the money together for a huge billboard ad in a prime position?[/sp] And like above, [sp]I thought billboard guy was just being an asshole, or it just passed me by.[/sp]
i kinda feel bad for chuck after this episode, the sequence where [sp]he goes out on the street really captured what's going on in his head. and even if he was in agony out there, he wanted to make sure that the dollar bill wouldn't fly away.[/sp] he is such a genuine character.
when he gets jimmy out of [sp]jail in a former episode[/sp] he sure looks like a die hard lawyer. [editline]26th February 2015[/editline] man imagine how much fun and how much of a burden it is to write something like this series
man imagine how much fun and how much of a burden it is to write something like this series
You hear a lot of this stuff in the insider podcast. I highly recommend you listen to it.
I am so disillusioned to realise the [sp]billboard incident wasn't genuine[/sp] I really want to believe Jimmy is a decent guy at heart
I am so disillusioned to realise the [sp]billboard incident wasn't genuine[/sp] I really want to believe Jimmy is a decent guy at heart
He is. Otherwise he would have ditched Chuck a long time ago. He doesn't treat other people like shit either. It's just that sometimes you just have to do, what you have to do.
He is. Otherwise he would have ditched Chuck a long time ago. He doesn't treat other people like shit either. It's just that sometimes you just have to do, what you have to do.
For now. His transformations isn't going to be as violent and bloody as Walter White's. Saul we see in Breaking Bad doesn't have any delusions about being a good guy. Jimmy here thinks that his intentions are more important than the means. Saul doesn't care.
I can't wait when Saul takes over Jimmy just like with Walter and Heisenberg and Hank and Frank.
