[sp] I think that the trip to Chicago reminded him that he never really wanted to be a lawyer in the first place, he was just trying to impress his brother the whole time, and now without his brother he has no reason to keep practicing law.[/sp]
But we do know that in the end [sp]he DOES practice law. Just not "honest" law. So I mean, he still gets to be a relative big-shot lawyer, with his face on TV and everything. Basically this:[/sp]

I agree that he will eventually decide to get back into law at some point in the next season, but he's not quite there yet
I kinda like the contrast that in BrBra Walter was kind of forced to break bad, while here, it's Sauls choice, it's his nature.

Walt had a plenty of opportunities, his pride just got in the way. He could have had his treatment paid for by Grey Matter but he refused.
[sp]Not to mention the fact that he had all the money he needed, but kept on going. The I'm not in the money buisness, I'm in the empire buisness speech.[/sp]

Yeah, there is a clear and visible parallel between Jimmy and Walt - at the beginning of their path they can be both magically saved by incoming deus ex machina (money from Grey Matter / that big law firm hiring), and they both refuse to use it in favour of following their own, original paths.
Also [sp]Chuck helped with the case big time, piecing together the shredded documents while Jimmy was sleeping etc. Maybe Jimmy felt he didn't want to be in his brothers shadow anymore. He doesn't want to have anything more to do with Chuck, so he declines the job and spreads his wings. Hopefully we get to see the full transition in to S'all good, man next season.[/sp]
[sp]God damn, I want to see how Kim and Chuck is going to react to Jimmy becoming Saul and his shady buisness practice.[/sp]
[sp]Personally I'm dying to find out where he's going to get the name from. [/sp]

that's already been explained

[sp]It's one of his alias for when he's scamming people. He mentions it the first time they pull off the rolex trick.[/sp]

iirc when gilligan approached odenkirk for the role odenkirk said something like "but i'm not jewish" (goodman) and gilligan told him the character changed his name to sound more jewish. i think this is further supported in bb dialogue somewhere, too
yeah I remember back in season 2 of BB Saul basically tells Walt and Jesse that he used that name because apparently Jewish lawyers are more reputable/desired by clients
Watching some of the earlier episodes again while introducing my family to BCS over Easter made me realize just how much of an [sp]ass Chuck was[/sp]. Do you guys remember the fact that [sp]Chuck tried to get Jimmy to change his name? We thought it was Harold at the time...[/sp]

I think it was the scene where he confronts Walt at school and tells him that every Don Corleone needs a Tom Hagen.
in the first scene where walt's pretending to be badgers dad he says he's irish and he just does the jewish thing for jewish customers
in the first scene where walt's pretending to be badgers dad he says he's irish and he just does the jewish thing for jewish customers
Specifically he tells Walt his real name in that scene.
"My real name's McGill. The Jew thing I just do for the homeboys. They all want a pipe-hitting member of the tribe, so to speak."

Since it's an alias from his con artist days I think he's making that up too so he has an explaination for his name.
[sp]"S'all, Good, man!"[/sp]
Oh fuck that's where it derives from? Shit, I should pay more attention...

Wait, which one of these explanations is it?
It's both they are not exclusive.
The origin of the name changes with each explanation. Think Joker.
odenkirk looks so different in bcs, he really shaped up
I really enjoyed [sp]Howard not being a cunt in the last episode. It has however, increased my loathing for Chuck the Betrayer[/sp]

Holy shit, this is just perfect.
Absolutely wouldn't be surprised [sp]if the first scene of the second season is Jimmy getting sideswiped by a van moments later...[/sp]
That would be totally Vince :v:
i didn't realize the nail salon is [sp]the same one saul wanted jesse to use for money laundering in brba[/sp]
My grandfather just left me a voice mail pretending to be Mike calling Saul. :v:
