[sp]He's taken another shot at the high road now though, we'll have to see why that doesn't turn out well for him. I think Saul's always had a bit of good in him, things with Walt got too heavy for him and in the end he wasn't involved by choice. Granted, BCS is set before Saul turned so corrupt but I think that's what the light switch scene demonstrated, he's a risk taker but he still has a moral core.[/sp]
[sp]To me Saul always felt like a chaotic neutral. He's not really bad or good, he doesn't even really have a normal set of morals. Jimmy is a little more interesting though, he's a nice guy who cons people who usually kind of deserve it anyway, in a karmic sense. He seems to be trying really hard to choose between being good or bad, and I think he'll go further and further in both directions until he finds his place as Saul, a seedy lawyer who rests comfortably in the gray area of the law and human morality as a perpetuator of chaos. He becomes simultaneously a lawyer and a con man, the two worlds he's struggling to separate in Better Call Saul. His clients are his partners in crime, and his mark is the law.[/sp]
Man, Breaking Bad had a lot of 10/10 cinematography.
the crawlspace scene is still my favorite, in all fields
next is probably [sp]the drug ride with jesse where he floats away[/sp]
As much as I adore Breaking Bad's cinematography, I will always remember this show for its amazing, straight 10/10 montages. The editing, fitting the visual scenery to the music, it's all perfect. These three are pretty much pinnacles of what I saw on both TV and film.
[sp]The difference between walt and saul is that saul always has been bad at heart. The only reason he got this good stuff is because he was screwed and got bailed out. Then went good for his brother who just backstabbed him anyways. Which if good back stabs you and bad is damn fun there isn't a point not to be bad[/sp]
wtf? it is the complete opposite of this.
[sp]walter has always been a secret cunt. wheras saul is the theif with the heart of gold.[/sp]

That's my favorite montage from the whole series, it's just so perfect and the music was absolutely perfect.
Take a deep breath...
Pick yourself up...
Dust yourself off...
And start all over again
everyone just thinks "i am the one who knocks" scene is the best of all time... yeah nah
it just feels really forced, and imo some of the line delivery doesn't even make it that powerful :v:

A few of those lines don't even really make that much sense, especially when it's taken so far out of context

I think so many people embraced that bit because they never expected him to snap at Skylar, and show his true colors to her. [sp]I think, it's been a while since I watched that episode, that was season 3, right?[/sp]
Anyway, this has been my favorite exchange from the show.

I hope that the next seasons of BCS develop his post-breaking bad persona more, and tie in the two timelines together.

I don't mean to keep going back to the montages, but I really liked the Crystal Blue Persuasion one. Great song, shame there's no good YouTube link

Always thought these scenes were extremely brutal even by BrBa's standards, but damn it's such a good scene.
pryce gives me an extreme jerry lundergaard vibe, right down to the accent
you can practically hear him saying "i'm cooperatin here" when he flip flops to the cops
two words: [sp]squat cobbler[/sp]
I'm just happy that [sp]He got his baseball cards back, because it's really all about the baseball cards.[/sp] This show is nothing without [sp]the baseball cards[/sp]
[sp]I like that we got to see a little Saul tonight. Not exactly Saul as we knew him, but he's definitely building the character now
also i can't totally figure out the symbolism of the cupholder in the Mercedes, did it have to do with fitting his personal life into his professional life? that's going to be a challenge if he keeps doing seedy law and making her mad
this review explains it better than i could www.ign.com/articles/2016/02/23/better-call-saul-cobbler-review[/sp]
i really love the [sp]yellow pimpmobile guy with the baseball cards, not that he's a spoiler but still[/sp]
[sp]doing exactly everything wrong (just seen 1½e of s02 so far) and mike just sighing[/sp]
Wow, compared to that guy, Walt and Jesse in the first seasons were criminal masterminds, I can see why Mike was so lenient to them in Breaking Bad

That [sp]cupholder thing obviously symbolises how being 2nd best does not fit.[/sp]
[sp]he's totally gonna want his old car back due to it not fitting him[/sp]
oh hey, i saw this being filmed
[t]http://i.imgur.com/3S65isW.jpg[/t]
saw a mercedes with a camera rig on it with the camera pointing at the hood ornament (like in the image) like 4 or 5 months ago when i was driving back to santa fe from abq. couldn't ever figure out what show it was for and ended up just thinking it was for some obscure show i'd never see. didn't expect to see it on bcs at all.

[sp]It seemed a little deeper than that. He just got a nice new job, a nice new office and a nice new car and he's trying to fit in the things he liked about his old job and way of life, but the two simply aren't compatible, which becomes more evident near the end. His ideas and his actions are conflicting and he wants them to work together[/sp]

I went to abq a few years ago for the hot air balloon festival during the off season of the show and saw a bunch of filming locations in their usual everyday purposes, it was pretty cool.
I really liked [sp]how the boardroom scene summed up Jimmy's relationship with Chuck and Kim with the tension, stalling and recovery. That was a very well made scene.[/sp]

Everything works on so many levels in this show.
Also I like how [sp]visibly disturbed Mike was by midlife crisis' utter retardation.[/sp]

[sp]Even though he was a complete idiot, I felt bad when he said the cards belonged to his father.[/sp]
FYI, on the BCS podcast they said there may or may not be [sp]an actual squat cobbler video[/sp], they said they'll think about putting it on the DVD extras
The best part of Better Call Saul that was missing from Breaking Bad is finally we have a female character that audience can sympathize with and even like. Kim is a keeper.
[sp]I don't want them to break up :([/sp]
I'm almost positive that's exactly what's going to happen, and in turn that becomes the breaking point where Jimmy finally becomes Saul.
[editline]24th February 2016[/editline]
[sp]I'm thinking that's going to happen at the end of this season. After their discussion at the end of episode 2, it seems all the more likely[/sp]

[sp]Shit sorry I am kidding![/sp]
