everything else is okay, it would be nice if the logo wasn't splattered all over
Excellent Episode.
Loved the shot where it panned over the row of severed heads and down to Ragnar, smiling like a maniac :v:.
In this poem, the ferryman Harbard and the god Thor compete in a flyting or verbal contest with one other. The ferryman Hárbarðr (Greybeard) is rude and obnoxious towards Thor who is returning to Asgard after a journey in Jötunheimr, the land of the giants. Hárbarðr obstructs his way and refuses him passage across a swollen river. He begins by saying that Thor dresses poorly and that his mother is dead.
God damn Harbard is one cold ass motherfucker
[sp]what the FUCK? did she fucking piss on ragnar???[/sp]
Nooo, not [sp]Siggy! She's one of my favorite female characters[/sp]

Also, who is "the wanderer"?
[sp]Harbard[/sp] [sp]He has over 200 names[/sp] [sp]Odin[/sp]
[sp]Did Siggy imagine Freya when she was saving the boys?[/sp]
Also, who is "the wanderer"?
Aside from the possibility that it's just a wandering drifter who likes to lure children onto frozen rivers, Odin at one point says that one of his bynames is Hárbarðr. There's also a Hárbarðr in the Poetic Edda, who has a rap battle against Thor. There's a theory that it was actually Odin in disguise, but there's some debate that says it was Loki.
HOWEVER, Harbard in the show says that he was with Thor on his travels to Jotunheimr, and it is said that Thor went with his servants, Þjálfi and Röskva, and with Loki.
On an unrelated topic, is anyone else an Ásatrúar?
Given that [sp]Siggy drowned[/sp], I would put my money on the latter.
honestly I'm just saying he's a random guy
I really don't feel he's Odin because hes got two functioning eyes, he could be Loki but doesn't entirely fit the profile
I think the writers are just pulling our legs and trying to get us to think its one of em
Either way, I sort of disapprove of the "slight bit of magic" in the show.

yeah I'd rather have it be realistic, honestly some of the Aethelstan scenes last season were kind of annoying
[sp]Did Siggy imagine Freya when she was saving the boys?[/sp]
No it was [sp]her daughter[/sp] that died earlier in the show.
Welp, I guess that settles the Harbard discussion.
[editline]oh hamburgers[/editline]

So much for the [sp]tiny viking. RIP[/sp]
Also, on an unrelated note, I kinda like Farmer Ragnar better than King Ragnar, to be honest.
Shittt, was going to post before tonight's episode that[sp]I thought Torstein and Siggy were going to be the only major deaths of the season.[/sp]
During Comic-Con, Travis Fimmel mentioned that[sp]a cast member that wasn't present on the panel was going to have to their character killed off so I had my hopes that Athelstan was going to make it after Torstein and Siggy kicked the bucket, but I guess I was wrong. Definitely going to miss Ragnar's bromance with Athelstan.[/sp]
What an episode. Felt so sad for Ragnar. [sp]He has no one left that he fully trusts. That ending monologue was so sad, but so well acted out. I love how you can see a certain realisation on Ragnar's face when he says "I doubt your God would like me visiting you in Heaven".[/sp]
Anybody else going to the open casting for this on Tuesday/ Wednesday? I might skip a few lectures and head down, havent watched the show since season one though.
i put a couple of student actor friends up for it. haven't watched the show but getting them in to an extras role would be good for their CVs.
I decided to start watching this today, and holy shit I love it.

dunno if I like the direction its been going with the past episode or few
Don't know if Ragnar knows [sp]Floki killed him. I guess he has a pretty good hunch.[/sp]
Sheesh. It's starting to get crazy. I'm getting hyped for the next episodes, and can't wait to see more.
