I have no idea where this show is going now [editline]21st April 2013[/editline] Not that it's necessarily a bad thing.
Bit of a shitty episode tbh, although it his the history channel they probably wanted to have some cultural BS shoved in the series.
I thought it was a fine episode. Sometimes you need a breather from action episodes, and we've had quite a few of those lately.
I never knew the Norse [sp]had human sacrifices like that[/sp]
I never knew the Norse [sp]had human sacrifices like that[/sp]
it's something a lot of old cultures had, actually. even [sp]christians[/sp]
My parents started watching Vikings the day it started. They're only on the 3rd episode now.

So, new episode soon
So, new episode soon
Last episode soon
well, that was some shit
That was a bit of a disappointing finale, to be honest.
That seer sure does have a strange fetish, making people lick his hand. I bet he jerks off with it and gets some sick pleasure in making people lick his wiener hands

Wow i think the series really declined after episode 5 it kinda sounds shallow but all I wanted to see was ragnar and his homies fuck some shit up in england but we got loads of hormonal woman bullcrap.
Not a bad final episode for the season sets things up for next season.
Yeah, so next season we'll be seeing the war between Horik/Borg, tension between Lagertha and Aslaug for Ragnar, probably to be decided by whoever gives him a son, possible new expeditions West, the fight between Ragnar and Rollo, and whatever impacts this plague on Ragnar's hometown will have. Next season is going to be gooood
Finally Aslög makes an appearance. I was beginning to think it would never happen. It was not mentioned in the episode but her father is Sigurd Fafnesbane.
They didn't have an epic battle nor a life and death cliff hanger, but I think it was a well enough done season finale with pretty decent cliff hangers that will lead to a lot of story for next season. [sp]What will happen to Ragnar's village, especially now that his daughter is dead?[/sp] [sp]How will Ragnar's wife react to him bringing home a woman with his child?[/sp] [sp]How will the war between the Jarl and the Norwegian king play out?[/sp] and most importantly, [sp]In what way will Rollo try to backstab (literally?) Ragnar?[/sp]
My theories regarding Rollo in the second season: [sp]After seeing Rollo allign with the rebellious Earl I can only think that his death will come in the battle obviously on the horizon for the second season. As for the circumstances of his death I think some how he will save Ragnar just before dying or by sacrificing himself. Rollos character has had so many ups and downs allignment wise and hopefully his early loyalty will earn him a heros death. That or he becomes the new Earl of the disputed territorry there by fulfilling his promise of making Siggy a "Earls wife again". [/sp]
What I desire to find out is exactly how [sp]Rollo is going to betray Ragnar. He's pledged himself to fight for the Swedish Jarl, but is he going to literally fight along side him or is he going to covertly sabotage Ragnar when they return back home?[/sp] [editline]1st May 2013[/editline] I do hate though how they [sp]made the priest seem extremely important and central to the story at the beginning of the season and the commercials made it seem as if the story will be about his and Ragnar's relationship, but by the end of the season I can't even remember his name and he's completely nonexistent.[/sp]

[sp] Not to mention the whole sacrifice episode, was the point to show the priest a christian who still opposed living with the Vikings? I wanted to think he had been assimilated. [/sp]
Agreed. [sp] Not to mention the whole sacrifice episode, was the point to show the priest a christian who still opposed living with the Vikings? well i can't say that i didn't like seeing another side of viking culture. but part of me hoped [sp]priest would die[/sp] of course since that didnt happen, maybe [sp]rollo will kill him in an act of betrayal against ragnar?[/sp]
I'm kind of hoping so. He really serves no point in the story.
At first I though he would facilitate a "futility of religion type thing". Apparently his only perpouse is to stare confused off camera when shits goin down.
bumping the thread there's a soundtrack out with music composed for the series, plus the full intro song by fever ray. :D
Well there is a comic con trailer for season 2 that shows a stand off between Ragnar and his group against his brother and Jarl Borg. That's all you have to know but if you don't care about spoilers then here you go http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi1491118361/ if you want to watch it. [sp]To show the death of a character in a teaser trailer is dumb honestly, I hope that's not what really happens like what's the point of showing that for a teaser?[/sp] Also there is more info here: http://film-book.com/vikings-season-2-tv-show-trailer-plot-details-san-diego-comic-con-2013/ Wessex is going to be in and there is going to be a timeline jump of several years so Bjorn is going to be older
oh fuck they did not just do what i think they did also, clive standen (rollo) recently starred in another viking film, hammer of the gods.
