I don't know what is going to happen but I believe that the whole [sp]Call with Marie ending in "I love you" was a deliberate mis-direction to make people assume Hank will die there, Gomez is 100% dead but I think Hank is going to get out of it somehow[/sp]
[sp]You can say the same thing about the cliffhanger making it seem like they're going to survive, but honestly, I can't see any reason for why Hank would live through this, since we all know Walt will get away and then end up having to change his identity. Jesse will get away as well since out of Hank, Gomez, and Jesse, only one can truly make it out alive from this situation. And thanks to the teaser pics they showed of the new season we see Jesse with his hair grown out and his beard a lot more full, which is where we can assume that's him in the same period as Walt during the two future scenes we see during the beginning of season 5 and the start of the half of it. It's kind of like the Gale situation, people didn't think Gale would actually get killed off because they thought Jesse wouldn't be up to the task to actually take him out, but look what happened there.[/sp]
Vince Gilligan is an evil man.
[sp]By cutting to the credits before the gunfight has climaxed we are unsure if Hank and Gomez will survive, but there is still hope. Next week if either character dies I believe it will be even more effective as in the words of Bane - "there can be no true despair without hope". If they survive on the other hand it will be equally effective as that hope will be rewarded.[/sp]
[sp]I honestly think he's giving us false hope here, he's that twisted. Which is why we all love him.[/sp]

OK I have been following this show for awhile but I'm still not clear on the whole [sp]Brock thing. Did Walt really poison a little kid? Why the fuck would he do that?[/sp]
I know I'm probably really dumb and it's probably been explained earlier

[sp]he poisoned brock and told jesse that gus was the one who did it so that jesse would be angry enough to assist in killing gus off[/sp]
So no spoilers as I can't watch until I'm home but was the episode as good as everybody was expecting?
[sp]I'm thinking maybe because he's hit (he got hit, right?) Gomez is gonna tell Hank to make a runner and seeing as how he can't do so himself with his injury he'll cover him. Hank is gonna run to Walt's car and take off (maybe with or without Jesse depending on whether or not he's legged it or not). Nazis are gonna kill Gomez (don't want it to happen, but I think it's inevitable), which Hank will of course see. From here I'm not sure whether or not Hank would get away and Walt would be abducted, or if Hank would save Walt setting up Walt's disappearance which is needed for the Flash Forward. Don't think they're gonna kill off BOTH Gomez and Hank at the same time, though. Maybe Hank will die later in the episode.
Hell I did suggest after the end of last week's episode (I think) that Jesse might go down in a firefight trying to save Walt. Maybe the next episode is where that would occur (he could hear Walt screaming for Jack to leave - maybe he's starting to realise again that Walt isn't 100% gone... although he came pretty damn close to that point for a while during this last episode).[/sp]

Tension slowly rising towards the end of the episode, then ends in total clusterfuck of emotions. Damn right it was good.

[sp]I don't think the Nazi's are as bad at aiming as you think, they're fairly far away and at an awkward angle.[/sp]

Sounds too uneventful for the next episode, I think the whole point of this episode is so you know it's like a roller coaster and now we're going down the most intense part of the ride. [sp]Hank's call to Marie would be meaningless if he survived this, there's no reason for him to survive in the first place. The Nazi's wouldn't spare Hank or Gomez and there's no way in hell they'd be able to just drive off without getting riddled with bullets. I think this whole event is supposed to let you know that everything is closed off at this point, there's nothing Walt can do, and Jesse will just run off since he probably knows he's the target to begin with. Plus with Hank gone Marie will rat on Walt and I'm starting to think she might kill herself; remember that little detail from before where she talks about poisons? They wouldn't just write that in for nothing. Yeah, there's nothing good that will come out of this, I just know every episode will get more dark as we approach the end. I have no idea what will happen to Walt's family, but perhaps they'll be in witness protection after Marie revealing everything. And I know the ending will be very slow and emotionally draining for all of us, something tells me Walt will survive but he will be all alone with nothing left and it may be reminiscent of that scene from Crawl Space. Because him dying is too predictable, and I know Vince Gilligan doesn't go for the predictable route. That's just the way I think these final episodes will play out.[/sp]
I think I'm kind of lucky because my academic year begins in 3 weeks, so the wait the last episodes won't be too painful.
I can't believe how they ended that episode. That final scene had me holding my breath the whole way through it in anticipation.
One week is going to be too long a wait.

[sp]Not only that, but people seem to forget that aiming a gun in real life isn't like Call of Duty. I can imagine trying to hit your target like that isn't easy.[/sp]

Fuck yes, I'm sure it's going to get only more exciting form now on.
[sp]I was expecting the episode to end on Hank and Gomez, maybe Jesse, too, just getting shot but this firefight was amazing, too. Although I was bit surprised no one got hit right off.[/sp]
Uh spoiler
[sp]Someone please add that to shooting kids^[/sp]

[sp]well, walt called jesse a coward for going to the DEA, just like gus said "no man goes to the DEA". perhaps it was a deliberate throwback to gus.[/sp]
One way I could see the show going: [sp] Hank, Gomez die, then the shooting stops. Walter stops them killing Jesse. The nazis then get both of them to cook the meth for them, holding them there because if they say no they can kill Walt's family and Andrea and Brock (since Walt has already shown them where Andrea and Brock live in trying to draw out Jesse) Kind of like the whole Gus situation.
In the flash forward when Walt gets the ricin, i can see it meant for two things: 1. To put in the meth he cooks to fuck up the nazi's business. The gun is for when they find out, or maybe even to get it there in the first place if he's already stopped cooking for them. 2. To take himself, to give himselfa day or so before it kicks in to accomplish whatever he needs to with the gun, since with the cancer he's going to die anyway he can do it on his terms and doesn't have to risk being captured. [sp]While that's true, they had a really long time to aim at a stationary target before the shooting started, and they had no trouble wiping out Declan's gang, so they're clearly fairly well trained. You would think at least one in 5 would hit something.[/sp]

[sp] I agree I was hoping the end would be a showdown with the main characters, but I'm not sure how else they can be part of the storyline. Hoping it's wrong though. [/sp]
[sp]what if hank dies but right before he calls marie and tells her where they recorded walter's phone call?[/sp]
[sp] Maybe if Hank dies, and Marie thinks that either Walt did it, or wanted it to happen she'll break bad and kill Skyler. A man can dream.[/sp]

also something i noticed in the scene where hank and marie say "i love you over the phone"... their wedding rings are very prominent in the shots, especially when hank waves, his glints from the sunlight.[/sp]

[sp]It actually is pretty easy at that range. Especially with the amount of guns they have. Given, that AA-12 has a fucking terrible ironsight, but they had a lot of people shooting a lot of guns. Hitting a human sized target at around 30 yards with a pistol is really not that hard. Given, it seems like the suv was blocking most of the view for the nazis on the right.[/sp]
Also I like how the nazis drive a fullsized longbox pickup and a crown vic. One of my best friends has a white truck just like that and I drive a crown vic.

[sp]tribal police are pretty much a joke. They get paid shit and have an even smaller budget. 3 barely paid indians with cheap shotguns arent going to fuck up the nazis any time soon.[/sp]

Shit's gunna turn into The Departed
Christ I swear all my neighbours heard "FUCKING NO WAY" when the black screen happened.
I loved this episode, but probably the best thing was [sp]how Walt acted during the arrest. Calm. Knowledge that all is lost. Walking there badass with hands in the air, calling Jesse a coward - totally 100% Gus here.[/sp]
And this episode features my new favourite shot from entire series - [sp]When Walter got that message with picture, and the camera made a sudden zoom. It's very unusual for Breaking Bad and that's what made it effective.[/sp]
