I actually thought that this was because [sp]she and Walt had too much money to launder, she was trying to give it away out of guilt and desperation.[/sp]
[sp]Personally I assumed that she was focused on the situation with Hank and was a little out of it.[/sp]
I hope the box set comes with a ton of commentary for each episode that will literally confirm and point out all of the hidden messages/foreshadows

pretty much every actor on this show is cool as shit in person
Aaron is a legend. I hope he does well after Breaking Bad, the Need for Speed movie role should help with that if it's a success.
There's a Need for Speed movie? Somehow I don't expect it to be a success, even though I'm a huge NFS fan
Maybe Aaron will prove me wrong
ugh
is anyone else annoyed by everyone trying to say everything in this entire show is a reference
keyword there is "perhaps"
[sp]The shootout scene was accurate. It's not a COD game, you don't have a crosshair, it's supposed to be real life.[/sp]
Except in real life when six guys are firing full auto (with an automatic shotgun, no less) at two guys out in the open, the two guys out in the open are going to get ventilated pretty quickly.
I'm pretty sure having Jesse sound like he's right next to Walt rather than over the phone was intentional.
It was more of a confrontation as opposed to just a normal phone call. Anyone that watches Breaking Bad will know that they don't skimp on little things like that.

Exactly. As soon as that auto shotty fired up, I expected it to cut to a scene of absolute death. But this is TV, so drama, suspense and cliffhangers are king.
So does Walt have like a free pass to go as fast as he can on busy public roads because this is like the third time he's raced across town at 100 mph without being pulled over

BTW. As much as I hate pointing non-existent references everywhere, this thing is great - a little bit of foreshadowing from S04E04 (spoilers): http://imgur.com/a/AhBdx
I just watched the lastest episode, that was quite intense. [sp]The thing with Brock was quite unexpected to me, overall the episode was really great except for the ending. The shootout looked so great and felt powerful but how the fuck did they miss so baldy, Hank and Gomez were so outmanned and outgunned. The sheer firepower should have cut them down. The strict cut at the end didn't help either. It felt incredibly cheap and forced. Hank was awesome in this episode though.[/sp]
so what do you guys think about [sp]walt claiming that he intentionally kept brock alive when poisoning him? i thought the doctors almost lost him, do you think him saying that to jesse was just a desparate attempt at convincing him to come back on his side or do you think it was genuine?[/sp]

I think the doctors just didn't know what was causing it at first so they couldn't fully treat it.

[sp]I'm pretty sure that's been accepted as fact since it happened. Walt would have just used the ricin if he really wanted to kill him(or didn't care). He wouldn't go out of his way to use a different poison for no reason.[/sp]
i really want walt and jesse to reconcile
Can anyone explain how Ozymandias is related to the next episode? I only know that Ozymandias is a poem and that's it.
[sp]maybe hank will grab walt and get behind him (hostage style). the nazis won't want to kill walt because they need him to cook for them and gomez (if he's alive) could block any additional shots aimed at hank. i don't know what they'd do after that, though.[/sp]

[sp]I don't think that Hank would be capable of killing Walt or holding him as a hostage, he wants to put him in jail forever and let him rot. He even said that suicide was the easy way out for Walt. So I don't think that Hank would do such a thing. [/sp]
Can anyone explain how Ozymandias is related to the next episode? I only know that Ozymandias is a poem and that's it.
Well the poem itself is just about how empires all fall eventually, as do the emperors that rule them.
I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.
So one can guess on fairly sturdy grounds that shit is going to go down this next episode. [sp]I'd say this will probably be about when Walt goes underground, with the fake identity and shit. It's the end of him as we know it. His Ozymandias moment, when he's lost everything. We have to wait and see.[/sp]
Can anyone explain how Ozymandias is related to the next episode? I only know that Ozymandias is a poem and that's it.
[sp]The poem is about a traveler who finds a statue of a man out in the desert. The monument is in complete ruins. Only the legs still stand, and the head is on the ground and broken. The inscription on the pedestal reads "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!" The man was a very powerful king, so feared and respected that a giant statue was built in his honor. Yet now, the statue is completely ruined and there is nothing but for miles around it. There is no sign that his empire even existed except for the ruinous monument.
The theme of the poem is basically saying that no king rules forever. And after they're gone, even the memories will fade. Basically how it relates to the show is, Heisenberg will fall, and everything he built up will sooner or later be forgotten. Even if he remains a legend or an icon after he's gone, that wont last forever.[/sp]

I'd say it makes more sense if it was just different angles of the first few seconds, it seems sort of bullshit to have a group that managed to shoot everyone in the head on a raid and murder people in jail with precision timing suddenly just flop over to not even aiming and missing every single shot.

[sp]It will be the episode where he leaves. The one after it is titled "The Granite State," so it's pretty likely he'll leave at the end of this upcoming episode. There's still about 8 months to cover between now and the flashforwards, interesting to see how they'll cover that time.[/sp]

[sp]Yeah, they don't seem to be complete amateurs and it doesn't make much sense to me. If somehow they had a bad position or bad angle to shoot from, it should have been very clear from the start. The thing is that the whole scence just looks like a clear case right from the bat. There is a heavy emphasis on the automatic weapons, including the automatic shotgun. They are all stationary and have enough time to set up and aim properly. Furthermore we know that they are pretty skillful because they killed declan gangs without any issue and the jail killings.
If Hank and Gomez get out alive, it's poor writing. They should have shot it differently and kept the shootout for the next episode.[/sp]

[sp]They won't get out, I think the extensive shot was probably to act as a enjoy them while you can, cause once it's done their dead. Much like the star trek script idea, this is their big thing to mark them leaving the show (Gomez and Hank) so yeah.
I must say I do like how alot of the characters from the series are getting their final goodbyes before it's all over. I don't know why, but I always like when shows try to give one last hurrah to these characters no matter how small of a part they played in the series.[/sp]
pretty much every actor on this show is cool as shit in person
Mike did a voice on Axe Cop so he's one of my faves
So this idea popped into my head last night while I was trying to go to sleep...
[sp]The ricin is for Lydia. Walt will put it into Lydia's coffee or tea or whatever. She'll drink it, leave a lipstick mark.
Then Todd drinks from it.[/sp]
[sp] I think Walt will end up poisoning himself with the Ricin. It's been such a key plot device through the entire series but it's never actually been used on anybody, and I have no idea why he would need secretive poison to kill someone when he's already geared up for a huge firefight. It only seems fitting that Walt succumbs to the ricin.[/sp]
saw this on /tv/ and thought it was interesting (mild spoiler on the most recent episode)
