http://www.reddit.com/r/breakingbad/comments/1nno0k/breaking_bads_two_endings/ (ending spoilers, obviously) Very interesting read. I'd actually prefer if the series ended with Granite State too
honestly I kinda like that idea
The flash-forwards totally kill the theory but at least it's not as retarded as "it was all a dream!"
So, I just watched the finale. [sp]I was sad to see Walter die, although it did put some closure on the series. Damn, that was a sad ending, though. At least Jesse got away.[/sp]
To be honest, for me the ending just felt like it was any old episode. They could show another episode this week with [sp]Walt waking up in a hospital surrounded by police asking him questions, following Jesse's (attempted?) getaway[/sp] etc etc etc... And I would think nothing of it. It was a perfectly fine episode, but it just didn't feel like a series ender to me.
So someone on reddit posted an interesting alternate ending theory. [sp]A lot things that happened in the finale went almost too smoothly, even some deus ex machina. He happens to find the car keys in the visor, he sneaks into Gretchen and Elliot's house perfectly and when he's there he perfectly finds a way to get his family money. He got into Skyler's apartment without anyone noticing and gets closure with her. He poisons Lydia with the ricin, this is the first time the use of ricin wasn't a total failure. When he confronts the Nazis, everything goes pretty much perfectly. Jack even happens to survive and Walt is able to personally kill him. And Jesse even seems to forgive Walt after everything that Walt did to him. Walt walks through the lab one last time and dies with a smile on his face, undefeated by anyone. It was all perfect and this ending was more happy than anything. While I(and others) were expecting an ending where everyone loses, we got a relatively good end for our two protagonists. No series of events has gone down so perfectly in Breaking Bad without severe consequences or repercussions. So the theory is that the alternate(or real) ending will be that the events of the final episode were all a fantasy of Walter. He dreams it all up while in reality, he's dying of cancer in a cabin, Jesse is still a slave, his family is without money, and his wife is being persecuted.[/sp] Any thoughts?
[sp]Hank is dead, his son hates him and will remember him as a monster, Skyler has to deal with the aftermath of what Walt has done.. I don't think it's a happy ending for everyone[/sp]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyIbLKKcKgQSo (I dont know what is going on with the media tag but here's the url) this was in the comment section about this tribute video. (Old and Late i know) "melenmelenmelen 4 days ago I just came back from the Breaking Bad finale screening w/ the cast and crew at the• Hollywood Forever cemetery, and they played this as the sizzle reel leading right in to the series finale. It looked freaking amazing up there on the giant screen. You should be so proud of your work!!!" Then this comment came next all i can say is im excited for next week ! "narvinek 1 day ago Could you tell me more about this? I'm really excited. And for all of you: YES, I'M WORKING ON THE FINAL TRIBUTE VIDEO RIGHT NOW. I think it should be online• next week."

[sp]But it wasn't the real ricin, it was the one Walt made out of salt or something, then (off camera) he puts it in the roomba. As far as Jesse knows, they found it, but he somehow disregards that as the answer and conveniently jumps to the conclusion that it was fake ricin purely by discovering they Huell took his weed and looking at his cigarettes[/sp]
[sp] Pretty sure it was the real ricin considering he holds onto it and puts it behind the electrical outlet[/sp] [editline]3rd October 2013[/editline] last episode spoiler~ [sp] And then kills Lydia with it [/sp]
I think you're wrong From the wiki: [sp]Saul Goodman returned the ricin cigarette to Walt, stating his wonder that Huell Babineaux didn't break it when he lifted it from Jesse. ("Live Free or Die") Walt hid the ricin capsule behind an electrical outlet in his bedroom and made a false capsule with salt. He hid the fake capsule in a cigarette and planted it in Jesse's Roomba to put Jesse's mind at ease. ("Madrigal")[/sp] Watch the episode Madrigal again (S05E02) and you can see Walt [sp]prepare the fake ricin and put it in a cigarette, then take the real ricin cigarette in the baggie and flush it down the toilet, but instead of flushing it he keeps it and puts it behind the socket[/sp]
[sp]Hank is dead, his son hates him and will remember him as a monster, Skyler has to deal with the aftermath of what Walt has done.. I don't think it's a happy ending for everyone[/sp]
[sp]Given the circumstances leading up to the finale, it was the absolute best possible ending for Walt. Just counting the finale, and the spot Walt was in when it started, we got the happiest possible outcome.[/sp]
I'm glad I actually managed to make my brother watch BB. He didn't like the story when he just heard about it. Now he's half-way through the first season and loves it.

[sp]jesse says "your funeral jack" in s2e6 this is foreshadowing you heard it here first folks!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/sp] [editline]4th October 2013[/editline] Imagine if seasons 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5a had that terrible social media outreach thing. [sp]#awkwardmoveontheprincipal[/sp]
No one would like a protagonist that [sp]shoots a kid[/sp] for almost no reason at all.
Being a witness to a major crime is no reason at all? Pretty sure, from their perspective, he did the best thing for their interests. [editline]4th October 2013[/editline]
haha what nazis absolutely know right from wrong though. and at no point did it say he was raised by them iirc? not to mention you cannot raise a child to have no conscience. sociopaths are born that way just like your sexuality.
You absolutely can raise someone in this manner, not necessarily to not understand or even feel these things, but to repress and ignore and continue on doing what they're doing despite that, until it becomes normal and routine.
Here is a Breaking Bad music video I made. Spoilers up to the final episode
Being a witness to a major crime is no reason at all? Walt, Jesse, and Todd would have been gone by the time the kid told anyone, even if he did say anything about it.
good article by anna gunn that should illuminate how much of a shitty person you are if you hate or hated skyler http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/24/opinion/i-have-a-character-issue.html?_r=0
except morality -> the window when skylar decided that she had to get involved in walt's business with laundering the money. not to mention that bitch smoked while pregnant, and fucked ted. two things that were A) destructive to the White family and B) incredibly pointless for her to do, all points in favor of skylar lost. she also told walt that jesse needed to die. what kind of woman expects to be favorable when she does these crazy vaginal things? i'll bring up a quote i heard that still rings true to this day "all women are inherently psychopaths."

Yes she did jump on board with the laundering, but that doesn't mean she instantly deserves all the hate. If you're gonna hate on Skyler, you should hate on Walt equally if not more.

anyway who says skyler is a cunt should not watch breaking bad sorry
ok, I'll stop watching the show. sorry for not liking a character [editline]4th October 2013[/editline] it's time. i've heard both a lot of good and a lot of bad about Fly, so I guess I'll find out now
Fly is a masterpiece, period
The first time around I really liked Fly but didn't know why. When I rewatched it I realized that it's because it's pretty much entirely conversation and interaction between Walt and Jesse, and it felt really good to just see them in that environment talking about some deep shit.
anyway who says skyler is a cunt should not watch breaking bad sorry
These kind of comments are the worst. It's just a series. God damnit! You can support any character you want. It's not like i'm a bad person for thinking Heisenberg is awesome and Skyler can go fuck herself for all i care about. It's made for entertainment and i feel more entertained by Walt being a badass than by Skyler being a bitch and ruining his business. Everyone has the right to watch the show the way they want. "should not watch breaking bad sorry". Yeah, and you should stop breathing, sorry.
