You know how Walt sold his "portion" of Gray Matter for $5000, but if he kept it he said he would have been a billionaire?
So Walt [sp]kept his third of the methylamine in hopes of fixing his mistake he made all those years ago, but from what we can tell from what has happened already and what's probably going to happen in the second half of season 5, Walt is going to have his downfall and everything's going to go down, because of his pride and ego.[/sp]
Just a thought I was having: Maybe if Walt stayed with Gray Matter, maybe something similar to what is happening to him right now would have happened to him with Gray Matter. We know that power corrupts him, and to think of all the power he would have if he was a billionaire and a lead man of Gray Matter, he possibly could have done completely irrational things that would lead to the downfall of Gray Matter and destroy his family relations, just like what is happening right now with his drug business.
I just think where his life branches off (if he had held onto his part of Gray Matter, and if he sold his part of Gray Matter and then began his drug empire) he would end up with the same situation, just one being with a science company and the other with his drug empire.

I don't think it's [sp]just power that corrupted him. It was based mostly on the fact that his wife now hates him, he basically lost the very thing he was working to protect. His past mistake of leaving Gray Matter also drives him now. He lost everything that used to be important to him, and without his drug empire he'd have absolutely nothing. He'd give it up in a heartbeat if it meant fixing his marriage and family life. But at this point everything is beyond repair. He could sell his methylamine and have more money than he'd ever need, but he'd be alone and have nothing. He wants to keep his empire going because it's the one and only thing he has left to lose.[/sp]
