welcome to the internet
Oh jesus, last episode.
[sp]All I could do was laugh all the way through Walt's 'confession' tape. You amazing son of a bitch.[/sp]

Don't come here unless a new episode has aired then.
Apparently Vince Gilligan and the crew shaved their hair with Cranson in Season 1.

Shaving for the sake of shaving. It was a spiritual exercise in the case of Norris
[sp]A nice comparison between Todd and Jesse was brought up recently. Todd and Jesse are both young men. They both look up to Walt as a sort of mentor/father figure. They both respect him by calling him Mr. White. And overall they both obey as well as try to impress him. The big difference between them is that Jesse hates the concept of killing someone, even to save himself. He feels an incredible amount of guilt when bad things happen to innocent people. Todd of course takes extreme measures without a second thought or any remorse.
They both represent Walter in different points at the show. The old Walt would only ever kill if it meant saving a life. Walter at this point is willing to kill not out of physical defense, but to save himself from being caught. Jesse only killed to save his life and Walt's. Todd has only killed to save himself legally speaking, not life or death, or to gain more power like when they overtook Declan's operation. Similar to how Walt killed Mike (and almost killed Lydia) for very petty reasons.
Jesse was basically Walt's right hand, and even like a son to him throughout the first four seasons. But when Walt transformed into the monster he is now, he got a "new Jesse," which fits his personality now.[/sp]

[sp]walter was never any kind of father figure towards jesse, nor did jesse ever respect him; he's extremely defiant and disrespectful to walter for the whole show.[/sp]
this isnt true at all watch the show again lmfao
[sp]Todd disabling the nanny came and bragging to Walt about it wasn't trying to impress him?
Or when Jesse made his own batch in season 3 and showed it to Walt, expecting him to be proud of it?[/sp]

[sp]I know the respect thing doesn't apply to Jesse currently, but I was talking about a majority of the show.[/sp]
How many episodes are left in season 5? Do you think I could rush through the rest of season 4 and what's been revealed in season 5 and still be able to catch the finale on time or is it just fruitless?

You have 4 weeks after tomorrow until the final episode. You can do it. I watched the whole series in 4 days on my rewatch.
There's still five episodes left in the season. It's actually quite sad that after tomorrow's episode, we'll already be halfway done with the new half-season.

[sp] Being disrespectful does not mean that you don't look up to someone as a father figure. Children always disrespect and even rebel against their parents. Its undeniable that Jesse looks up to Walt as kind of a father figure, the fact that they've had some fights and they're currently not friendly doesn't mean otherwise.
Honestly, are we watching the same show? This is surface level, extremely apparent stuff. [/sp]

[sp]just because someone is older and someone is younger doesn't mean there's any sort of father son relationship, walter just yells at and manipulates jesse.
he just sees him as a minion and pawn to be used.
the only real father son dynamic was with mike and jesse.[/sp]

[sp] I never implied that. Walt took Jesse from a street scum drug addict and raised him to pretty much head the biggest drug empire in ABQ. Sure, as time has gone on and Walt has become more and more corrupt, that father son relationship has all but vanished, but it was still there.
Also, Mike and Jesse's father/son dynamic was a contrast to the at-the-time poor Walt and Jesse father/son relationship. [/sp]
I normally respect peoples opinions, they can dislike things no matter what I think of it. Sure, I may try to deduce what you dislike about it and try to persuade you otherwise, but I don't get pissy when someone doesn't like Godhand or Kanye or some shit like that.
But when people tell me they hate breaking bad I call them fucking idiots
Scenes like in "ABQ" when Walt and Jesse are in "The Shooting Gallery" after [sp]Jane's death[/sp] show that they've got a relationship that's more than just teacher/student. Jesse's relationship with his parents make it easy to see how in the beginning he could see Walt as a father figure, and [sp]Walt accidentally calling Junior "Jesse" in "Salud"[/sp] lays it out pretty plainly that Walt sees Jesse as a son. Of course the relationship is basically gone now, but it was there at one point.
My dad is finally watching Breaking Bad on a frequent basis. We're almost done with season 5A now. It kind of disappoints me at how little he reacts to most of the episodes I consider to be exciting. He doesn't seem to get surprised or awed by anything. He does like the show though.
The only time he had a big reaction was when [sp]Walt ran over those two guys and shot one.[/sp] But things like [sp]Crawl Space, Hank getting attacked, and Todd killing the kid,[/sp] he doesn't react at all. Finally I just asked him after that last one, "Did that surprise or shock you at all?" He just said [sp]"I knew he was gonna get shot when he appeared, it was just a matter of by who." Which also kind of irked me, if he thought it was even possible for Jesse(or even Walt) to ruthlessly shoot a child like that.[/sp]
Yeah, anyone who thinks that Walt didn't care for Jesse at any point or for any duration during Breaking Bad are overlooking a lot. It didn't exist in the beginning of their partnership, and surely not now, but for a period of time there was more to it then Walt just using Jesse.
Like when [sp]Walter goes to find Jesse in that den after Jane dies. Mike insists that Walt shouldn't go himself and that it's dangerous and under watch frequently, but Walt goes anyway.[/sp]
To the people who read too deeply into Walt adopting the habits of those who he kills:
