Damnit, I wake up Sunday morning then remember due to time differences that it'll be Monday morning when I find out. I really really hope it's Whittaker. She'd be excellent. Kris Marshall is only the favourite because he left Death in Paradise when Capaldi announced he was leaving. It will not be him. The tabloids are just running with the odds. Then people are betting on him because of the tabloids. The same tabloids that said Capaldi would regenerate into him before the end of the last episode... which didn't happen. On top of this, we've been told the new Doctor has only known they're the new Doctor in the last month. So the theory he was offered it months ago sort of falls apart. This is all following the pattern of last time. - This time Kris Marshall is Daniel Rigby (the bookies favourite from announcement who nobody wants and won't be it) - Tilda Swindon is Ben Daniels (an actor rumoured on fan forums to have been offered the role, accept, and then turn it down due to contract negotiations) - Jodie Whittiker is Peter Capaldi (the person who becomes favourite the minute an announcement date is made public, a versatile actor that everybody would like but assumes is too old/female for the producers to take a risk for)

As far as a first female doctor goes you honestly couldn't ask for better. Maybe Olivia Colman could match but that's about it. Who knows, could be her. It's gotta be some kind of Broadchurch alum
