Listen, if you're someone in this thread who has reservations about a female Doctor alright - I completely disagree with you but I get it - but just try and be open to it, that's all I ask. Someone needs to make a blog or a twitter or something featuring all the funniest comments from people who overreact negatively to a female Doctor asap. The comments full on ragin' about it will be hilarious.

I'm totally ok with this but whats going to swing it for me is who we get as a companion. I'd have been distraught right now if we got a female doctor with moffat doing the writing (can you fucking imagine that) but with a new guy doing this I'm really optimistic and a bit excited, but again, i just dont want them to fuck it up with a shitty companion.

Joking aside I'm pretty excited. Chibnall and Whittiker are now the freshest start we've had for Dr Who in years, and I'm hoping they're able to reflect that in the marketting as well. Now they've gotten past that lets hope all goes well on the Companion front. Also the next coupe months of wardrobe mock-ups are some of my favourite, its great seeing all the community come together and hopefully any idiots REEEEing over a female Doctor will be weeded out quickly or come to accept it Guess I better finally get around to watching Broadchurch as well

While I wish her luck, I have my reservations about this writing staff's ability to pull off a female doctor.

The Doctor has always been kind of a father figure to me so this will take some getting used to. However, Jodie is an excellent actor and Chibnall is an excellent writer, so I'm feeling very optimistic.

I don't see any problem here. Old or young...man or woman...as long as they're still saving people from monsters and bad guys with their wits, hearts, and blue box they will always be the Doctor to me.

I thought it was supposed to be Doctor WHO not Doctor HER I for one will never watch the show again; I am not paying my TV license anymore and I am throwing away all of the Doctor Who memorabilia I have amassed over the years. The show is dead to me.
