Richard Mylan is the latest name being bandied about for 13. Could see that, actually. Not "too young" or "too old." Familiar face for the BBC though probably not that well known overall. Doing some good stage work. Does work in Cardiff, too :v:
Also he isn't Kris Marshall...

Great choice IMO. Might be a new take on the Doctor we haven't seen before. I'd imagine his character would lie somewhere in the middle of Eccleston and Tennant
The one about the Pre-Credits came from somebody who friend saw it and decide to tell instead of keeping quiet
has it been leaked what it actually is then? how did they see it?
edit: well I guess it was someone in production, obviously
The Pre Credit scene was removed in the Early preview copies, then added onto the Later ones
So people who saw it first saw it without the Pre Credits, while people who watched this week had it added on
pure spec on my part lads
[sp] the Doctor will send Bill in disguised as a top-knot, she will legit get captured and converted, The Power Of Love saves her in The Doctor Falls, something to do with the memory of her mum [/sp]
put your fucking houses/parents houses/pocket money on it lads.

if you're gonna remove it, keep it removed

You're forgetting who the showrunner is mate.
I've just put a tenner on Mylan and I suggest you all do the same tbh, names don't show up this late in the game for nothing.

If it helps, the GB poster who has claimed to have a name (& insisting that it's not Marshall) announced that he could no longer participate in discussion after the bets went down on Mylan - and before his name was mentioned there.
Of course it could be completely unrelated. Looking for patterns and all that. Mylan didnt want to do it some years ago. Marshall will be announced tomorrow.
Sorry if I'm late to the party, but do we have a definite announcement date yet?
Sorry if I'm late to the party, but do we have a definite announcement date yet?
nope, but people are speculating that an event which is scheduled for the finale date is actually a secret reveal party
who knows, maybe saturday's episode ends with the announcement of the announcement event
I like the synopsis for The Doctor Falls
The Doctor makes a final stand against an army of Cybermen to protect a tiny band of humans from destruction.
I've said multiple times how I would have liked to have seen RTD's original pitch for The End of Time (10 dying to save a small family of strangers) - this seems to be like that.

10 died to save wilf
11 died to save the town of christmas

The scope of the story would have been smaller. No Time Lords. No Silence. No 1000 year war. No Dalek/Cybermen/Sontaran gatherings. No battle to save all of time and space. In the case of 10 - just a small band of strangers on a ship with a radiation leak.
Obviously it's already different as we have two Masters and the Cybermen :v: But if it's all taking place on this ship with some new characters we haven't met before, it feels more RTD-like than Moffat's location-hopping.
Norton said he thought he “knew” who the next Doctor was going to be – based on paparazzi shots taken outside Cardiff’s Roath Lock studios. And it was a remark which appeared to disconcert Mackie’s support team waiting nearby.
“Look at them all panicked in there! I’m not naming anybody,” he laughed, adding that he wanted to talk to Mackie about the subject "off air".
Earlier in the interview there was a slightly awkward moment when Mackie swore live on air.
Speaking of Saturday night’s episode she said there would be some “crazy s***” going on, prompting Norton to say sorry for the “very very bad” slip and adding, “we apologise and we move on”.
Mackie had an entertaining interview with Graham Norton.

Kinda hope she goes. I want a totally clean slate.
Anyone know what pap shots Norton was on about?
[sp] calling it now. it's a simulation. [/sp]
so like, I predicted the entire episode to my friends before it aired (and literally as soon as john simm was on screen I said "that's john simm") but it was still really good and came together well so I guess that shows it was great
totally called that opening :D
Well, we are fucked now
I expected a better episode. Could have been better if we didn't know about the cybermen and the Master already
I've known Razor was the Master for weeks, some cunt leaked it. It was quite obviously really though.
That was off the fucking chain. Talalay is the best director this show has ever had. Genuinely scary at parts.
"Hello Missy, I'm the Master." CHILLS
EDIT: The Master waited years just to convert Bill to make Missy evil again. H O L Y S H I T.
Oh fuck that was good.
it would have definitely been way better if we hadn't known all the stuff but the fact that it was still good shows a lot
Since it airs tonight over here across the pond, and I don't have work for once, is it worth a watch? I'm trying to get GF into the show (I showed her the Eleventh Hour and she loved it) and she will be with me tonight, so wondering if it's any good for a new viewer as well
Just one question, how did the Master know about Missy being turned good by the Doctor ?
The ending was ruined by the stompy Cyberman and new-who voice. I loved the slow evolution into the Cybermen and I wish they had just kept them moving like people when fully converted tbh. Would have been a lot creepier.
Capaldi's fucking hair at the start.
Just one question, how did the Master know about Missy being turned good by the Doctor ?
i assume we'll find that out next time
Capaldi's fucking hair at the start.
It's what it's like throughout the whole of Christmas.
This seemingly confirms that the finale is a three parter, with Christmas rounding it off.
The ending was ruined by the stompy Cyberman and new-who voice.
i listened to it again and it sounds like a pretty mondasian voice to me

Explains Talalay directing all three. Doesn't explain how [sp]that other person[/sp] shows up.
I like how Simm says 'genesis.' Throwing that out there.
