While I'm fine with whomever as The Doctor, that coming from The Doctor who pretty much killed the series until Nuwho came around is hilarious. [editline]edit[/editline] Though to be fair that was less Colin Baker who is a perfectly fine actor in his own right and more the material he had to work with.

Does the season that just ended really tie in anything from the season before it? I feel like it could be watched without it and be fine

As a jumping off point for new viewers, s10 failed really. The best places to start are s1 (2005), s5 (2010) and I assume s11 (2018)

It isn't that, I have a friend who dislikes Moffatt and Clara and is 2 seasons behind, they want to watch the one that just ended though.

Even if you don't like the new actor (in this case actress) why would you immediately be dissapointed? It's not like they cast Kim Kardashian as the new Doctor. The casting fits the role!
