'btw im gay ahah' 'btw i dont like men' every SINGLE episode. it was an absolute joke. i know what you're saying, but donna, or any other companion, didn't go 'btw i like men' every episode, they just showed interest in men. that's the way to do it. the best example is Jack - he didnt go 'i am pansexual' every episode, he just was.[/QUOTE]sorry but what every single episode? unless i'm misremembering (which to be fair is always possible) bill explicitly said she was gay three times throughout the series (the rest of the time she just happened to like girls - as you said) one of those times was in the doctor falls where it was specifically a joke about how the companions always fall in love with the doctor another was in knock knock when she had to turn down that guy, a situation i felt was fairly realistic and gave the students good characterisation the last one is the only one where i'd agree it was even a little bit forced which was in the eaters of light and even that at least was trying to do a little subversion of tropes i just don't see how it was done badly, i thought it was fine. it's also important to note that being pansexual is more likely to not be specifically mentioned in these situations too because if you're pansexual all three of the above situations no longer arise since the reason to turn people down changes from "i am not attracted to you because of your gender" to "i am not attracted to you for other reasons". if you're letting someone down because of your sexuality rather than other reasons you generally say it out loud since it's sometimes easier to be let down because of that (as seen in knock knock).
