[sp]Thoughts on Capaldi's final speech? I thought it was passable. Not going to stick in my memory like "when the doctor was me" or "I don't want to go"[/sp]
[sp]So many fucking 60s sexism jokes though.[/sp]
Oh god you weren't kidding.

Not going to stick in my memory like "when the doctor was me" or "I don't want to go"[/sp]
Kind of eh, still a bit emotional moment for me, but the [sp]speech itself wasn't really up to par[/sp]
Oh god you weren't kidding.
Every time it happened it took me out of the moment, seriously, fuck Moffat.
13's first line sums up how I feel about her segment. It was pretty cool
I would like a smooth regeneration, without explosion or tears
Or at the very least, he should [sp]leave his fucking Tardis while it's happening.[/sp]
[sp] I was on the verge of tears with Matt's last one but this one burst open the floodgates. He wasn't cruel or fierce at the end - Just kind. [/sp]
[sp]Probably reading too much into 60 seconds of television, but I liked that 13 skipped the whole "wow new legs, new arms etc" that every other Doctor has done and just got on with her shit. I like what that maybe implies about Chibnall's direction[/sp] [editline]25th December 2017[/editline] [sp]Not entirely clear on whether she's going to have a regeneration crisis either, she seemed fairly collected. I'd be fine with skipping that too, seen it plenty of times now [/sp]
I felt like The Doctor Falls was a much better ending to the Moffat & Capaldi eras. Moffat has said he only did this Xmas special because Chib wasn’t going to do one and he thought it would be a shame to lose the slot. It shows. It’s all filler and feels rushed. Then it’s just awkward fan service till the end. That green screen. Very little happened. You could probably recut The Doctor Falls to have the last 5 minutes of this episode and it would work better. Was it bad? Not really. Was it good? Not really. It’s only worth it to see Doc 1 again which is nice. But it was a lot of just... nothing? The 2 minutes of Jodie/Chib at the end was more exciting than anything in the episode and frankly felt like a relief. Capaldi will be forever be the greatest Doctor with the most tiresome writing. The best anology for the Capaldi years is a really great band who only ever get to sing songs their dads wrote... with broken instruments. This episode especially looked cheap too. Way more than usual. Jodie was brilliant though.

Not going to stick in my memory like "when the doctor was me" or "I don't want to go"[/sp]
[sp]i thought it was a bit long, could've done with being trimmed down and tightened up a bit. i couldn't recall a line from it except "run fast, be kind"[/sp] anyway it was pretty good [sp]except for the weird obsession with making the first doctor be sexist over and over again.[/sp] also [sp]jodie whittaker's intro was sick.[/sp] 7, maybe 8/10 idk
Wish Chibbo had done this as 13's first ep, but whatever if he wasn't ready then he wasn't ready
ill miss capaldi and his famous speech "Don't forget to subscribe to the official doctor who youtube channel"
Someone on Reddit thought her first line was [sp]'oh, Berlin'[/sp]
Great music choices in this episode, and apparently it was Murray Gold's last episode too, so that explains the variety we got.
Really, REALLY hated the whole 'The First Doctor is a sexist prick' thing, because it just doesn't make sense. Made me cringe every time.
Yeah, it just came out of nowhere. I find it disrespectful of William Hartnell
In 50 years they will resurrect Peter Capaldi's Doctor and have him trash the shit out of the 36th Doctor's bisexual trans nonbinary refugee companion
I really liked the episode. Very excited and curious to see what the future will be like.
I liked it, but it felt completely pointless. It was mainly just an excuse to explain the return of some characters. I am a tiny bit disappointed we didn't see/hear a bit more of Jodie but it was still amazing
It was very Moffatt. A lot of "I saw it and I clapped!" not much substance [editline]25th December 2017[/editline] The [sp]Lethbridge-Stewart reveal[/sp] sums up the episode for me. It's like oh right... cool I guess!
The [sp]Lethbridge-Stewart reveal[/sp] sums up the episode for me. It's like oh right... cool I guess!
So does that mean we have to thank Moffat for the Doctor being a friend of the brigadier, in addition for the whole existence of Doctor Who ? Also, I was rewatching the regeneration and it looks like it was made to be perfect if there hasn't been any spoilers, with discovering the new face/gender of the Doctor in the same time she did
[sp]That reveal of Clara was utter, utter bollocks. Unbelievable bollocks. I groaned at the screen.[/sp]
Apparently the Doctor is [sp]falling onto not London, but Sheffield![/sp]
Apparently the Doctor is [sp]falling onto not London, but Sheffield![/sp]
Makes sense - [sp]that's where they're filming, or were, last I saw[/sp]
New rule: Doctor Who showrunners' final episodes tend to highlight and magnify their writing weaknesses. End of Time was whimsical and silly to the point of absurdity and left me ready for a more mature direction. Twice Upon a Time was 80% fanservice and leaves me wanting a more forward-looking approach. Chibnall's final episode will consist of 55 minutes of legally questionable courtroom drama before the Doctor wins the case by sonic screwdrivering the judge.

[sp]They actually used a bit of Vale Decem (guess in this case Vale Unus, though), awesome.[/sp]
Am I the only one who sees the irony in [sp] them making a point of shouting down any misogyny during the episode and then promptly the first thing the doctor does as soon as she is a female is be catastrophically bad at driving the tardis.[/sp]?

The Doctor just needs to stop trying to fly the damn thing when they're regenerating, they can't even push a button without it blowing up when they do, apparently.[/sp]
Loved the episode [sp] I love how 12's first and last shot of his run are of his eyes.[/sp]
