The Doctor Who Spoilers and Speculation Thread V2 - The End of an Era (The Moff Falls)

I suppose [sp]It will make more sense if the next episode relates to the superstition about the number 13 - her being just unlucky that she pressed the wrong button that caused it all to explode.[/sp]
Also [sp]wow the cinematography/look of the show literally changed[/sp] the second Jodie appeared
That also happened [sp]When David Tennant regenerated into Matt Smith, because RTD's script stops just before Matt Smith is shown. I imagine that everything after Jodie Whittaker appeared was Chibnall-made.[/sp]
Rachel Talalay wanted to shoot both sides of the regeneration very differently.
[sp]Very much a fan of seeing through 13’s eyes. I liked the split second when you could see she had clenched both fists in celebration.[/sp]
Someone on Reddit thought her first line was [sp]'oh, Berlin'[/sp]
I wish I didn't read this before I watched the episode lol

at least he got the last word
[sp]don't forget to subscribe to the official doctor who youtube channel[/sp]
I haven't watched Doctor Who in the last couple of years ever since Clara flew off in the American Diner, but I kind of had to watch this episode. I thought it was pretty good, although I didn't know who the companions(?) were. I absolutely agree with people here on how terrible that [sp]Clara[/sp] part was. Hoping for good things for this new season.
wahey
burned through the entirety of s10 yesterday and today
i really enjoyed the christmas special especially since it covers my favourite moment in human history, the christmas armistice

You should give Series 10 a watch, it's probably the best Capaldi season.
"[sp]hate is always foolish… and love, is always wise[/sp]"
I honestly didn't expect them to go back and have [sp]Rusty[/sp] make an appearance after 3 years. I honestly thought he was a one off

dont get why this was a thing tbh.
this whole episode was basically moffat writing the laziest episode he could think of. WEAT/TDF were much better finales for his era.
It's now CONFIRMED that they had to [sp]grab Jenna Coleman off the set of Victoria, hand her a script and shove her in front of a green screen[/sp]

They gave poor capaldi 20 minutes to do his final scene.
Twice upon a time feels like a Fan fic tbh.

I would have been wholly in favour of them making it moreso if it meant Susan stepping out of that light instead of Bill. I hadn’t really thought about it in a while, but I’m actually really surprised it didn’t happen for whatever reason after both Ford and Capaldi enthused about the idea. I would even have accepted shoddy green screen work.
My biggest wish for the new episodes are better looking sets. I know that they are restricted budget-wise but I am tired of spaceships looking like painted concrete

For a moment I really thought it would be Susan - they could have used the actress from Adventure in Space and Time. But it wouldn't have fitted in with the story Moffat wanted to write, I guess.
Between the BBC and Doctor Who YouTube channels, the regeneration scene has almost 2 million views already. Not bad going.
Just saw the episode, immediate thoughts: It was pretty nice.
[sp]Got a bit cheeky with the whole "first doc is old-timey" stuff and my eyes fucking rolled into the back of my skull at Bill and Clara,[/sp] but the regeneration was probably one of my favorites so far. And the sudden change in cinematography really is a sign of a new era - and even if it was just little over a minute it looks really good.
Sooo, when's the next series?
I liked some of the call back themes

I think I heard Doomsday
Looks like [sp]Tennant to Smith's regen where the TARDIS started exploding for no reason and he almost fell out, except Whitaker did fall out. Is that a nod to Moffat leaving? I hope it doesn't begin with the Doctor lying unconscious on the ground then wakes up with amnesia [/sp]

But it didn't [sp]explode for no reason, both 10 and 12 had been delaying their regenerations and when they finally went it was explosive and damaged the TARDIS. Compare that to 11's where he only just got given a new set of regenerations before he sneezed into 12[/sp]
11s regeneration blew up a dalek saucer, he didnt just sneeze into it.

That's all I remember about that episode tbh :v: I got the impression that wasn't part of the regeneration proper though, from what he says afterwards
11s regeneration blew up a dalek saucer, he didnt just sneeze into it.
He didn't like the colour of his kidneys, so he changed them.
I was half expecting [sp]The Dalek in the tower to be Dalek Caan.[/sp] Also shoutout to whoever did the captions for the ABC [sp]During the Doctor of War scene they had the Cyberman voice as the Borg....[/sp]

Also, I hope that with Chinball, we don't get someone saying 'I'm sorry...So sorry' in future series, because that line of dialogue has been used ad infinitum over the last few years.
