Weird, unfufiling ending for sure
Glad to see the show still has a knack for pairing songs with [sp]gruesome scenes.[/sp]
Hey look Robbie Amell is on next week!
I decided to rewatch the series from the start. I'm on S01E04, Conduit. Mulder just straight up fires his gun into the air to scare off some wolves. Like what the hell? You can't just discharge a firearm, especially into the air! Could've killed someone. Holy shit man.

I'm really happy that they slipped [sp]The Lone Gunmen[/sp] into tonights episode while Mulder was [sp]high as fuck.[/sp]
Great fucking episode.
The political bullshit in this episode felt really out of place, especially setting up the gmen/nurse as ignorant mean xenophobic bigots literally ranting and raving like an insane person about these nasty ol immigrants coming and taking our jobs and not speaking English. These kind of stupid two-dimensional strawman characters only have a place in comedic episodes like Syzygy, not serious ones to try and make a point, and even then there's never been a political agenda behind it They also dwelled a lot on Miller and Einstein and how capable agents they are and how they know Skinner too and have similar appearances and the same exact roles as Mulder and Scully etc and while this is nothing new to the series, i'm still worried they're going to pull a NCIS and try to make a shitty, pointless spinoff featuring different-but-the-same agents doing the same shit just in a new setting. We don't need X-Files: Los Angeles, I'd rather the series just died with dignity instead of turning into a cash cow.
I finally got my girlfriend to start watching the X Files after showing her Mulder and Scully meet the were-monster. So far we've been bouncing across the seasons watching monster of the week episodes, she really doesn't like aliens so we've stayed away from mythology episodes so far. We already went through the big ones; x-cops, bad blood, clyde bruckman's final repose, home, postmodern prometheus, pusher, etc. Does anyone have any other suggestions for good MOTW episodes?
There's still a few stand out ones off the top of my head, Paper Hearts, Squeeze, its continuation Tooms and The Host are all great. Paper Hearts is probably my favourite, it does tie into mythology slightly about the disappearance of Mulder's sister but it doesn't have any extraterrestrial stuff in there and it's pretty much all explained within the episode.
this episode had a moment.

It's got Dogget (and Reyes I think) but Via Negativa is very good. Arcadia, Ice, there's one where Mulder and Scully are in a forest and there's forest monsters but I forget the title. Don't really know what to say, considering I really liked the mythology episodes a bit more.
Just saw this week's episode and to be honest it was really ham-fisted and stupid when you step back and think about it but I still like it, a lot, more than I'd like to admit actually. Perhaps I'm just wistful. [sp]Mulder's "placebo" drug scene was a mix of laugh out loud and "what the fuck?" moments.[/sp]

That was the single worst episode in the history of The X-Files. Like holy shit it was just bad. I think it just might dethrone the killer trees episode as my personal most horrible episode. Everything was just so over the top that it was not funny or deep or meaningful, it was just stupid. Nothing made any sense, there really was no X-File, I wanted to murder those two fake mulder-scully cookie cutter cutouts, etc etc.
That was a weird episode. [sp]Terrorism and line dancing. The combination I never knew I needed? [/sp]

I never thought I'd be as happy as I am to see the miniseries' finale. Because, as a finale, it has to have SOME plot progression, right? The new season i've been waiting for for 75 percent of my life has to actually touch on the mytharc SOMEHOW.
I feel like they should have just kept the first two episodes, and the finale and just had the whole thing progress the story. It felt so weird going from [sp] Him witnessing alien cloaking technology in the first couple of episodes, to questioning everything in the next one. [/sp] I never watched the original, but from what I've gathered why is [sp] Scully still questioning stuff? They had a child with powers [/sp] I think if they want to continue the series do it with Miller and Einstein because the main two have conflicting thoughts every other episode.

How'd she like Clyde Bruckman? I think that's probably my favorite episode.
Why aren't we using more of this :xfiles: in this thread?
Why aren't we using more of this :xfiles: in this thread?
Whats there to believe in? There's just been ESP and a lizardman, no aliums yet
tbh i've really liked this new short series so far, the latest episode was pretty bizarre, I liked it, but it was pretty /out there/ for an x-files episode, and that's hard to say given the nature of the show, it was just... so not what you'd expect of x-files, but I liked it for what it was in itself, the mushroom (or placebo?) scene was hilarious imo the portrayal of cultural opinions was... curious, like people here might say 'oh it's unrealistic and paints feds in a bad light' or whatever but if you look beyond that veil and more at what they represent, especially from that external, third person perspective, though possibly somewhat exaggerated especially in the personification, it was pretty accurate when looking at those extreme ends of things, but anyway, that's more just my opinion and how it resonated with my perspective on things, it was a bizarre episode but I liked it for what it was, but it was bizarre simply because it felt almost... too grounded in reality? like it was still x-files but it felt more like an individual social commentary under the guise of x-files or something gonna be a bit sad when the miniseries comes to an end, it was nice to have another taste of x-files, do hope the last episode answers some questions... but knowing x-files, it'll probably just raise more.
I just love how they use edit in pop songs like they did in episode 4 of this season with the song downtown and the killing.
THAT'S HOW THEY END THE SEASON? Also [sp] They should have edited the season better imo. Like the intro could have been tweaked to be the intro to the series. Helping people remember, and giving others a brief summary, of what happened in the past. I know it couldn't be because Scully said she tested for alien DNA, but it just felt like an intro shot to a revival of the series. So is her son manning the ship? I'm guessing that's why it came to her. [/sp]
Started watching the show a few days ago on Netflix, about halfway through season 1. Since a lot of people don't like the later seasons, are there some that I'd be fine skipping, or do I just watch everything?
christ that ending.
So this pretty much confirms they're going for more seasons? :xfiles: Hopefully its like 10 episodes, everything was just way too compressed with 6.
It isn't an X-Files finale without a ridiculous ending.

God dam that ending. I really hope this is going to continue cause that ending was like the definition of a cliff hanger.
