I really liked last season. I might be one of the few.
I liked it too, there was like one episode that was eh, but overall it was pretty solid. Seasons 11-12 to me are the worst, but it's been getting better since then.
I think I prefer the more down-to-earth episodes about the kids in school rather than the country-hopping ridiculousness which often ends up happening. It's still funny though. I liked the latest two episodes quite a bit.

Matt and Trey always say that they prefer the episodes where "the boys are just being boys", can't remember the name of the episode but the episode where Cartman gets in a fight with Wendy was their example.

The plot could be done so easily.
Local hipster band distributes their music for free via torrents, MPAA arrests anyone who downloads it.
I think Christian Rock hard exploited that plot. Stan got a lot of shit for downloading a song.
So is the new season good? I really haven't heard much about it.
I wish there was more episodes that were like the early seasons, like a user said above, when it was all sort of in South Park and featured more of the towns people. Still love the show now, but would be nice to have more of the old school episodes.

Personally, I think an episode about No Child Left Behind (or atleast that whole "everyone is a special snowflake who has a right to success" attitude) would be pretty good. It's not exactly current, but I think it could be pretty funny.
