Bump for season 20. I wonder what topic they'll tackle as an overarching plotline this season?
they will probably tackle nostalgia, people afraid of change, and race/gender politics i mean, you seen that 20th anniversary memories video right, they had the shitty nostalgic non-sp-related stock music and everything. i doubt the south park peeps would use that music just cause. now member berries are a thing in this season.
What's the bet they make a joke about the old South Park that was just toilet humour?
Ehh decent episode, but I was hoping they'd drop the whole [sp]Douche and Turd[/sp] thing. That was funny the first time in its original episode but even there they played that joke out. It would've been neat to hear that just one time to get a good reference, but no more than that.
Yeah, I was disappointed by that too. I was wondering how they would handle that since that episode already summed up most people's feelings so seeing that done again made me think they just couldn't think of anything else.

They're rebooting a joke from an episode they made over a decade ago.
Personally I'm quite happy with the return of [sp]turd sandwich and giant douche, even if it's not the costumes. Seems rather fitting to me.[/sp] Also [sp]Kyle didn't wipe[/sp] :ohno:
Given the member berries it was probably intentional. They're rebooting a joke from an episode they made over a decade ago.
This is why I fucking love Matt and Trey. There are so many brilliant things hidden away in each episode that most people never catch the first time.
I don't know. The joke was really obvious, and they kept doing it. It wasn't really funny at all, and I was expecting more at the end than what we got.
What a brutal episode. Two [sp]social media[/sp] deaths.
What a brutal episode. Two [sp]social media[/sp] deaths.
[sp]I just love how everybody acts like social media is their life. Has a deep meaning to it.[/sp]
That was def one of the weaker episodes. There were like 2 jokes and they just repeated them for 22 minutes. I was just expecting something funny but I never got more than a small chuckle for a second.
Perhaps theres too much going on this year.
not fond of their format like the last season where every episode is a sequence of the last one. i fucking love south park and have watched all their episodes but i didn't watch last season because somehow i felt like the lorde thing was sorta dumb? like it was an okay joke that they included throughout the whole season, ugh. why not just make a season like the older ones where every episode talks about a subject, but is an episode by itself?
because they did that for 18 years try drawing warhammer commissions for the next 18 years
i get you but i just think it worked better then. like how the lorde joke was an okay joke dragged through the entire season, i fear this might happen this season too but okay!!
Again, 18 years of "commentary of the week" has been done, and they were actually thinking of cancelling the show themselves a while back, so if this is what keeps them on point and still funny, in a world where American Dad, Simpsons and Family Guy are soulless zombies trotted out to dance every week, I'll take referential long form any day of the week. Secondly, they've changed formats quite a bit over the years, so this really isn't strange or unusual for them.
i simply feel like the older format was more entertaining that's all. but you're 100% on point and yeah we should be thankful they're still motivated and can still pull off good humour.
I really like what this is building to and the twist of [sp]Cartman not being the asshole behind everything for once[/sp] is pretty interesting. I wish it was revealed that [sp]the troll is Kyle's dad much later on, maybe towards the middle of the season rather than the start, would have given the twist more impact[/sp]
I'm almost positive [sp]Gerald's wine is made with memberberries or something along those lines[/sp]
the [sp]boston keyboard[/sp] was the best joke of the episode subtle enough to miss but lost my shit when i did for some reason
Just wait until Cartman finds out that Skankhunt42 is a jew
Damn they worked fast on this one. [editline]29th September 2016[/editline] "I'm the type of guy that would get drunk with putin and probably suck his dick" *thunderous cheers*
i simply feel like the older format was more entertaining that's all. but you're 100% on point and yeah we should be thankful they're still motivated and can still pull off good humour.
member old south park??
this week's episode was pretty great
I really like the camera hold on Ike as if he's the perp, and just him being all innocent.
I am really liking the new format for episodes, especially with how more interconnected they are, I've never been more excited to see next week's episode. But how many storylines are going on right now? Randy's investigation on member berries AND member berries themselves Mr. Mackey's addiction to member merries Garrison's campaign Gerald's internet trolling vs Denmark The boy's fear that Cartman may come for them and the drama with the girls Cartman's own drama and plans there's so much shit going on
Spoilers of course. :v:
I dont really like the whole memberberries thing, it seems random and out of place, and frankly not very funny. I liked the episodes better as non connected, one off stories. I gotta say im a little dissapointed. [editline]3rd October 2016[/editline]
Spoilers of course. :v:
This was funny though.
yeah they changing their scheduling on cc, so next episode is on the 12th
i really take back what i said about this season. last two episodes were amazing.
