Apparently the composer was asked to change his style in subsequent games because people hated the first OST, which is a real shame because it really stands out as the most interesting of any of the soundtracks imo.

Oh, I remember that game well: it caused a political ruckus in the Italian parliament upon release because the promotional material [I]could[/I] suggest pedopornographic content.
The ruckus was of such magnitude that the UK refused to sell it in its stores altogether.
The fact I was never able to finish it is still a sore spot for me (the story is surprisingly deep and psycological, but the gameplay proper is anything short of [I]incredibly frustrating all the time[/I])

The boss theme for Vindicta and Gorvek. A great thing about the music in RS is that they often use separate instruments, sound sets and melodies for different faction alignments. T[URL="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sm1__oTVSw"]his song, like many Zarosian themes, has its roots in Zaros Stirs from when the player finally uncovers a long mystery about who Zaros is[/URL]. But for Vindicta, the original track is extremely broken and distorted, symbolizing just how broken of a character Vindicta is. She's a really tragic character - the last of her species, her master failing to revive her species. Her name literally meaning "Revenge" as given to her by Gorvek.
