Few things warm my heart the way seeing practical effects, puppets, creatures, and animatronics used in modern film making does.
Velociraptor looks really cool!

legend of zelda came up with that arrangement of triangles yes
It's been confirmed, the raptor is the real deal from the movie
Is that a Triforce in the background?
raptor is secretly hero of time
It's a Lizalfos.
So, a map of the park was given out as a prop for extras, and apparently someone managed to get hold of it: [t]http://i.imgur.com/6Q3rZQV.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/cYOjZ1x.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/wlK3sxE.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/gipOyaA.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/6M27ori.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/SJSGneq.jpg[/t]
It looks exactly like a map to a Disney park. Right down to the 'Bracelet Scanband', which is something Disney started doing with the Magic Band.

I'm really hyped to see the dinosaurs which have never been shown in the previous movies.
It's odd that velociraptors aren't mentioned on any of the leaked material.
Raptors are pretty much confirmed though, Colin Trevorrow mentioned them in a plot interview and the leaked animatronic as you see is real. They are probably a disclosed project in the park.
loving that attention to detail [editline]14th July 2014[/editline] can somebody just clone dinosaurs already and make the thing irl
can somebody just clone dinosaurs already and make the thing irl
if we are able to reach a sufficient level of advancement in genetic engineering we might be able to create dinosaurs from scratch that will take a LOOOOOOOOONG time though
can somebody just clone dinosaurs already and make the thing irl
It's not possible.
Maybe this movie will herald a sequel to Operation Genesis? Maybe?

Give the idea to competent devs, improve the Dinosaur AI and add a lot more features. Everybody would be happy. Everybody would buy it! Now with Water Animals :v:
Oh man I remember genesis, my favorite thing to do was to build an island with a giant shallow lake (like 3 feet deep really shallow) with a ring of land surrounding it. I would then put all the vegetation on one side and leave the other side barren, then I would put a shitton of apex predators on the side with the vegetation and then spawn herbivores on the other side that was barren. Basically I got to watch as the herbivores traveled across the lake to the vegetation while the carnivores would travel the other way across the lake looking for food and they would collide into a giant dinosaur battle. Good times.

Jurassic Park did wonders for the general vision of dinosaurs, but nowadays it just repeats late 80's stuff, and is an example of the stuff it changed. And I still wonder how Greg Paul came to the conclusion that Deinonychus was a species of Velociraptor, despite being about 50% larger in lineal dimensions, lacking diagnostic characters of Velociraptor (seriously, that snout is unique), and living in a completely different environment, in a different continent, and 30 fucking million years earlier... Deinonychus deserved the fame, Velociraptor was pretty much a random critter whose resemblance to Deinonychus came into scene after the latter did the important stuff. This was a golden chance for making feathered theropods imposing, while we are at it. Lion-like T.rex and eagle-like raptors FTW, and remember that people liked upright, lumbering kaiju theropods until they saw the original Jurassic Park. Oh well, I hope it is enjoyable at least. And doesn't really fuck up another animal, poor Dilophosaurus.
But dinosaurs with feathers, no matter how scientifically accurate, aren't very cool, in my opinion.

JP3's feathered raptors came out of nowhere and completely changed the raptors we saw in TLW:JP, which took place on the same island. Not to mention the "accurate" Spinosaurus which also appeared out of nowhere and suddenly became the top predator of Site B. The movie gave zero explanation for both of those things, leaving fans to create theories in order to keep the canon together. I'm glad the raptor design is staying true to the canon, and isn't another radical redesign like JP3's. Though, it's still going to give the general public the impression that Velociraptors were six feet tall, scaly, and could open doors. Then again, Jurassic Park isn't known for it's accuracy.
And, as is often-invoked when trying to reconcile JP and modern science, they were literally splicing the dinosaurs with modern reptiles just to make them work. Accurate dinos they ain't.
But dinosaurs with feathers, no matter how scientifically accurate, aren't very cool, in my opinion.
most reconstructions look like harmless little chickens but theres also stuff like this [t]http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-V_1bCE4tFnY/UDQhOi25OMI/AAAAAAAABvI/MkN9swDqJ3A/s1600/Deinonychus_antirrhopus_byRhynn_V02.jpg[/t] it depends on the artist really
Well, if people complain about the inaccuracy of the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park, for not having feathers, then they should also complain about the changes the Velociraptor and Dilophosaurus have gotten. But I barely see them complaining about the reversed sizes of those two dinosaurs. The Velos are meant to be rather small while the Dilopho is supposed to be over 2-3 metres tall. Or the inaccuracy about the T-Rex only being able to see by movement, which was completely made up by Crichton.
At least the T.rex acted like an animal in the film, in the book it seemed actively malicious. And the book raptors were Xenomorphs with eyes, for fuck's sake. They even had the skeletal look, courtesy of Greg Paul's restorations showing the details of cranial anatomy in the life animal. By the way, there are plenty of bird species that aren't chickens. And a grown rooster deserves some respect; damn bold bastards like to flap, claw and peck. Also this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPCfW76uQfE Seriously, Jurassic Park spent half the movie pulling the "birds are dinosaurs" idea. And it was pretty accurate for 1987 standards (in 1993, true), except for calling the oversized Deinonychus Velociraptor, the implied bad Tyrannosaurian vision, and the frilled Dilophosaurus (which was canonically a juvenile). Still stated to be theme park monsters, but they are very influential in the public knowledge of the animals. Oh, and if a Velociraptor being able to run up almost vertical slopes thanks to its wings, then pull off the modern raptor technique and use its claws and wings to jump on top of a larger animal and outright dominate it, or a Tyrannosaurus spotting a fucking mane and beard, doesn't seem cool to you, then you have a quite limited concept of cool.
Feathered Dinosaurs look absolutely ridicioulus and idgaf about what science says in this case. They never had feathers end of story.
I don't care if they look silly. They still move fast and are strong and have really fucking sharp teeth and killer instincts. I do not want that shit coming near me.
