Yup, real silly... (Although this is a good read: http://dinogoss.blogspot.com.es/2014/07/people-think-feathered-dinosaurs-dont.html)
Personally, the more I study these animals, the more sense they make with a feather coat, as their bodies are already VERY birdlike to begin with.
Anyway, lets see if they pay some attention to the supposedly canon Telltale game. The [sp]Troodon[/sp] there were really good at giving the creeps.
And, as is often-invoked when trying to reconcile JP and modern science, they were literally splicing the dinosaurs with modern reptiles just to make them work. Accurate dinos they ain't.
this
the dinos aren't accurate to begin with, the whole frog-dna splicing doesn't work in real life.

I'd love to see the [sp]Troodon[/sp] on the big screen. They were really terrifying considering they [sp]paralyzed their victims and then laid eggs inside them![/sp] I also wonder if they'll stick to the design of the [sp]Mososaur[/sp] encountered near the end of the game.

If they ever have an Allosaurus, this one would look right at home...

Woah woah. That's the car that got attacked by the T-Rex from JP1, which fell down the tree.
Looks like they seriously built the entire Jurassic World park while the dinosaurs still continued to live on the island.
They have also a new logo, with a cleaner metallic look.

Looks like they're gonna try and keep true to the original, really looking forward to Jurassic World.

obviously WiP but somewhat promising
It's a shame Stan Winston's not around to do the effects again.

His men are around though. And they can do a lot. The Dilophosaurus in the first movie was made by a new guy. When everyone was deciding on which dinosaur they wanted to work, he wanted to work on the Dilophosaurus because it wasn't such a big part of the story. And then they put him, a guy with only like two years of experience, in charge of the entire Dilophosaurus project. And he pulled it off. Amazingly well done.
Never underestimate Stan Winston's crew. They're no Stan Winston, but they're absolutely amazing as well. They did most of the work you've seen in the movies.
Everybody hypes up the use of animatronics. But after rewatching all three Jurassic Park films recently, I noticed that the movement of the animatronic dinosaurs looks really jerky and unnatural.
CG looks way more convincing in my opinion.

Take your nostalgia goggles off and go watch the films again.

1993/1997/2001 was a long time ago. I'm sure that the animatronics have gotten better since then.
I hope so.
The life-sized models look great, but as soon as they make them move too much it really kills the effect.
I think it's the other way around. CGI looks good when it doesn't move, but once it starts moving it kind of looks weird. While that Dilophosaurus for example looked real.
CGI is used for long-distance shots and anything requiring intense movement.
Animatronics are used for mid-range/close shots or anything requiring lots of detail.
This is how it should always be done (and why the effects in Jurassic Park mesh so well).

I did watch the first one recently and the only time the animatronics looked jerky was with the T-Rex in the rain shots, only because the puppet itself was getting wet. Everything else, particularly the raptors looked great.

The only movie to convince me that CG is better is Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Otherwise practical effects and animatronics all the way
Both are good tools. There seems to be some huge circle jerk against CGI. It only people knew how many times they've been fooled by good visual effects.
I like CGI, it makes everything possible but if you rely on it to much then you lose the soul of it. (Star wars prequels.) If you use both like Pacific Rim then it comes off really good and nice looking.
As far as the first film goes, the animatronics are near flawless. When the Tyrannosaur bumps Malcom's and Grant's car and her head raises up, they blend it perfectly with CG to make it seem like one creature.
The Lost World and JP3 however dropped the ball. Especially JP3.

i would love to prove those people wrong with all those star wars stage models

The Lost World's T-Rex, Raptor, and Compy animatronics were pretty damn good. The rest of the animatronics were pretty meh. Jurassic Park 3's animatronics are really stiff and unnatural, except for the baby Pteranodons.

It's a damn shame those animatronics appeared for about two seconds in that movie.
Another still from the film was revealed today
