I really want the toys to be framed as Jurassic World merchandise. Like, for the back of the box to make it seem like it's something that was bought in a cheesy gift shop on Isla Nublar.

I instantly pictured the merchandise they zoom out from before Hammond gives his flea circus monologue. The one thing that made the first film stand out for me when I watched Jurassic Park recently in my film class, was how it has different selling points for various groups of people. When you were a kid the thing we payed attention to was the dinosaurs. Once we were older, you start to appreciate the in-universe ethical debate on cloning, playing god, and corporate greed. That in my mind is what the sequels lacked. I really hope they keep the atmosphere and the science vs ethics vibe that made the original relevant to audiences even today. In 20-30 years, the CGI and the actors may not be as long lived, but it is the critique of a society and its practices, that allow the film's message to endure.
Just read through the old JP4 script by John Sayles. It had some good parts. Many bad. And some parts where you really wonder what the fuck this guy smoked.
See, the first movie is weird to me because, despite everything that goes wrong, I still identify with John Hammond. Like, yeah, they cut corners (and that's bad), but I would still build a dinosaur zoo in a heartbeat, ethics of playing god be dammed. Clone me a T-Rex and put that shit on a lunch box then sell me both. [editline]21st December 2014[/editline]
Just read through the old JP4 script by John Sayles. Everything else (about the dino-men in a castle in Sweden) just sounded retarded though.

And then there's this character called Darwin who mistakes a Kronosaurus for Flipper, the dolphin. And gets eaten.
For those who haven't seen it, the Masrani website got updated in the beginning of December.
December 2014: The end of an era for Mascom's "Glinda" Mascom satellite Glinda will descend to Earth later this week after 15 years of service. The outdated relay equipment will be decommissioned to make way for a newer model satellite. Glinda was launched to interconnect ground teams studying dangerous storm patterns. The project was brought under the Masrani wing after a successful series of experiments and since then the team behind it have saved thousands of lives by opening our understanding of the biology of storm patterns. This resulted in the invention of a highly advanced warning system that was state of the art at the time. "Glinda won’t impact on the ground," Jessie Rosegrant reassures. "Its trajectory should put it far over the Pacific Ocean, where it’ll burn up in our upper atmosphere."
They have also uploaded three new slider images for the career tab.
more here: http://threeplatesonebrick.com/blog/
I hope one of the rexes in the movie does look like that, the coloring is closer to what was described in the JP novels.
there's a jurassic world novel out already?
there's a jurassic world novel out already?
Sorry, I meant Crichton's Jurassic Park novels.
One of the raptors in this movie is also striped, like in the first novel. Just not striped like a tiger, but it's close.
Damn I need to reread the novels. How do you guys have all those little details memorized?
Damn I need to reread the novels. How do you guys have all those little details memorized?
I've read the first one recently and I posted lots of concept art of the first two movies on the last page. The raptors were supposed to look like in the novel. Jurassic World.com just got updated! Ankylosaurus, Stegosaurus, Mosasaurus and Galimimus are now there. + Sizecharts! There's also an agression index that goes from low, medium to high for the dinosaurs and the kind of attraction. And now the site won't load for me, shit.
Is it just me, or does that Rex look way more bird-like while older ones looked bulkier?
you mean we're getting accurate t-rexes for once? oh lawdy lawd.
Now I know what I'm getting as breakfast each morning.
Won't be accurate unless half of the pouch is full of air.
Short leaked scene where [sp]the kids are being attacked in their gyrosphere, with placeholder stuff everywhere[/sp] http://instagram.com/p/xaVoyeLbI8/?modal=true For those who haven't seen it. Also two side images of raptors. The first one also appears on the animatronic shot with Pratt, so it seems to be real. the "blue" design seems like a throwback to the JP3 raptors in a way
As long as they don't put the little frills on the back of the head, it's fine with me.
There's a tumblr that is recreating the novel into a graphic novel http://michaelcrichtonsjurassicpark.tumblr.com/
For a moment I was confused as fuck. And then I realized that the first page was at the bottom... Looks very professional. I like it.
Jurassic World is confirmed to have a trailer at the Superbowl event on February 1st. http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/news/396037-jurassic-world-super-bowl-ad-confirmed#/slide/1
Mercedes and Universal partnership detailed: The new Mercedes AMG Sport, alongside new pictures: [t]http://www.jurassicworld.org/news/uploads/Mercedes-JW3.jpg[/t] [t]http://www.jurassicworld.org/news/uploads/Mercedes-JW2.jpg[/t][t]http://www.jurassicworld.org/news/uploads/Mercedes-JW1.jpg[/t]
The Jurassic Park franchise is no stranger to Mercedes‑Benz, previously teaming up for The Lost World, and now again for Jurassic World. These high-class and high-style vehicles aren't just for show though - they are more than capable off-road, which is absolutely necessary on a tropical, dinosaur-infested island “We are delighted to have been able to support this epic action-adventure with our vehicles,” said Dr. Jens Thiemer, Head of Marketing Communications for Mercedes-Benz Cars. “Our wide range of SUVs in particular fit perfectly with Jurassic World’s various requirements, with the focus on our new trendsetter, the GLE Coupé.” Some have suggested this vehicle seems too flashy for a park like Jurassic World, but rest assured, this isn't the 'tour vehicle'. Rather, this seems to Claire's (Bryce Dallas Howard) personal car, further supporting her position of power and importance at the park itself. While that vehicle seems unique to her character, with other park staff driving Merecedes G-Wagens and Sprinter Passenger Vans. Also appearing is the impressive Mercedes 6x6, a behemoth of vehicle driven by the parks Animal Control Unit security. “Unveiling the new GLE Coupé in Jurassic World was a natural fit as we continue our relationship with Mercedes,” said producer Frank Marshall. “Audiences will find that the vehicles featured in the film lend themselves perfectly as the transportation of choice in the fully functioning international theme park we have created at Jurassic World.” As one would imagine, high levels of security and secrecy were followed to stop the vehicles from leaking, especially as the 2016 Coupé was only just unveiled in December. With this diverse lineup of vehicles Jurassic World is all but certain to have high-stakes chase scenes, with many dino-thrills.

Are there any back ups of this? Can't find a working link anywhere.
I saw a webm of it, and the guy filmed it off of a monitor above him from three feet away with tons of glare. I mean, I heard the Trex roar at one point.
I mean, I heard the Trex roar at one point.
Which is most likely a placeholder. It also used music from the first movie for it.
Also don't forget that a rex roar was used for the trailer of JP3 for the Spinosaurus.
Some brief new footage at 24:40 Of course it's going to be about an upcoming commercial, seeing how many scenes it had with close shots of the car.
