Welp, I told myself I'd never see a 3D movie remake but... god damn it, this just might get me to see it.

i saw jp in cinemas when it was rereleased in the uk a year ago. i hate 3d so i won't bother with seeing it again, as much as i love it

It had a re-release last September
I can't hear the Jurassic Park theme anymore without thinking "Oh my fucking god, fucking dinosaurs, holy shiiiiit..."

Objectively, it's all set up like one big circle (so you need to walk ALL THE WAY AROUND to get to something on the opposite side of the park), the food is shit, and there's barely any shade. But my God, THE THEMING. Islands of Adventure recreated the Visitor's Center from Jurassic Park, walking in there as a 6 year old, I was about ready to shit my pants, it was the BEST. You walk along the paths, you can see Nedry's jeep. Wanna learn about how Jurassic Park clones its dinosaurs? Well here's... MISTER DNA! And it's not just Jurassic Park, hell, I literally shed a tear this past Summer when I walked into the Harry Potter section to be greeted with the Hogwarts express and swelling music from the movies. Theming is one thing the folks at Universal GET. And they are GOOD AT IT.
Jurassic Park 4 coming June 13, 2014 guys, it's really happening!!
I hope they'll do a little updating on the CGI. It was great for its time, but could use some polishing.
To be honest the CGI in the first film still looks pretty great even today.
To be honest the CGI in the first film still looks pretty great even today.
The only thing that looks REALLY dated (as in, dated enough that I wouldn't mind if they touched it up) is the Gallimimuses jumping over the log.
Jurassic Park 4 coming June 13, 2014 guys, it's really happening!!
I'm a bit worried about that one since Speilberg is only producing.
To be honest the CGI in the first film still looks pretty great even today.
That's because it was mostly real scale models and robots [editline]12th January 2013[/editline] For example
I hope Spielberg keeps the puppet and models tradition with JP4.
I hope Spielberg keeps the puppet and models tradition with JP4.
Didn't he not use the Stan Winston Workshop with JP3? Because good God some of those animatronics were shitty (when compared to the AMAZING ones from the first JP). The T-Rex and Spinosaurus had like no range of motion.
I hope Spielberg keeps the puppet and models tradition with JP4.
Considering how Stan Winston is dead, unlikely [editline]13th January 2013[/editline] This is CGI from Jurassic Park It mostly looks very dated
For a movie from 1993, I reckon it's held up alright.

It doesn't even look good for '93, it just looks good in general. Some parts are a little iffy (mostly the Gallimimus scene), but everything else is totally solid.
I hope they'll do a little updating on the CGI. It was great for its time, but could use some polishing.
Holy fuck, I can't believe I wrote this. Shame on me.
Considering how Stan Winston is dead, unlikely
Stan Winston's Workshop is still up and running, so...

That T-rex scene during daylight looks fucking incredible to this day. The only thing that is starting to show its age (stretched textures) is the up-close shot of that Brachiosaur in the beginning of the movie.
I do sure hope they release this in The Netherlands as well. Jurassic Park is my favorite movie of all time, I would be furiously pissed if I didn't get to see it.
it mostly looks fine, but there's no reason why they shouldn't refresh the cgi a bit. it's 10 years old after all.
20 years old you mean.
Jurassic Park 4 coming June 13, 2014 guys, it's really happening!!
So one and a half year for pre-production, shooting and post-production? I hope the final result isn't too rushed.
So one and a half year for pre-production, shooting and post-production? I hope the final result isn't too rushed.
I'm pretty sure they're already past the pre-production stage. Didn't Spielberg announce at comic-con last year how they finally had a script they were happy with, and were now preparing to start shooting?

Yeah, Youtube fucks with the colors quite a bit.
I'm plenty excited. Only releasing it for a week seems a little bit rubbish tho, but otherwise I'm happy. Please don't update or change anything... the CG holds up marvelously for 20 years on.

I am planning on seeing it in RealD which is basically the same as IMAX 3D but without the cool stuff IMAX has also [t]http://www.jurassicpark4-movie.com/uploads/jurassicpark4movieposter.jpg[/t]
