man i loved this movie
if you're going in expecting a "Good Film" you'll probably be disappointed
but i was expecting stupid silly tropey hollywood action with dinosaurs and it was the shit
Also, the bit after [sp]the I-Rex got killed and the T-Rex and Blue looking at eachother reminded me of Kung Fury (after they kill Hitler) for some reason?? Like I was actually expecting the Raptor and the T-Rex to hug or some shit fucking Kung Fury fucked me up.[/sp]
[sp]After playing Saints Row IV's Enter the Dominatrix, wherein they are saved by a race of talking Velociraptors, it was hard to look at Blue without picturing him talking.[/sp]
Loved this movie! I enjoyed it so fucking much. Still need to give it a [sp]8.5/10.[/sp]
[sp]The bad:
- Masranis death was too quick and he didn't get enough screentime
- Not enough camouflage scenes (lost potential with this)
- They cut way too many scenes to get it into 2 hours. Like the explanation why the park works now and so on and what the fuck happened with Barry (Omar Sy)? It's like he's stuck forever in the forest.
- A bit too much CGI, especially with the raptors
- Some bad characterization
The good:
- Very good score by Michael Giacchino
- The cameo of the Diliphosaurus
- The suspension in some scenes was amazingly done and the chase sequences as well
- It captured the Jurassic Park feel very good
- Opposed to others I liked the cheesiness in some scenes.
- The Indominus Rex was amazing and absolutely terrifying and they gave a very good explanation for its behavior
- The humanization with the raptors was pretty convincing
- Some very good effects
- Lots of awesome death scenes[/sp]
Favorite death scene:
[sp]The fat coworker guy who hid in front of the vehicle. Giving Owen his last look before he gets chomped from above.[/sp]

I was skeptic before, but after watching this movie.. Love it! Especially the final scene. Boy did that made me giddy.
[sp] They show Barry walking around the makeshift hospital at the end of the movie. [/sp]
Thanks! I think I missed it somehow..
Oh jesus, the tracktitles of the soundtrack :v:
[sp]- Clearly his first rodeo
- Owen you nothing
- Indominus Wrecks
- Raptor your heart out
- Our rex is bigger than yours[/sp]
It's weird. Everyone I know loved it, and I really did not enjoy it at all.
That and everyone clapped at the end of the movie, which is still strange.

Is this really a thing Americans do?
Something needs to be said, however, about the CGI.
There were moments where I genuinely did not know if it was CGI or practical. Namely [sp]the part where the I-Rex first gets out of his cage and is sniffing the car Owen is hiding under, the caged raptors, the killed dinos.[/sp]
It seems to me like they did use animatronics at some point but gave all of them CGI makeup.
Even without that, the CGI, for me, was completely believable. I don't know how, but at no moment did I feel like 'yeah that's a digital puppet of the actors'. The [sp]pterodactyl attack scene hit that right in the head, if I had felt like those were just CGI actors, all the tension would have gone out, but nope. Held me all the way in.[/sp]
I did think it was a bit fucking weird though how [sp]The scientists made this awfully huge deadly monster but just refused to tell anyone what genes they put in it. Surely that would be a big deal and at least a few others would need to know but apparently not[/sp]

[sp]Fear of spies from other companies, maybe? Bear in mind, Nedry willingly brought down the entire park to steal embryos in the original, spying for something like the indominus doesn't seem that far off.[/sp]
I loved the movie, but [sp]The scene with a bunch of branchiosaurs lying dead depressed me so much. It felt like it was shitting on this scene from the first movie: http://cdn.playbuzz.com/cdn/812b256c-0967-4962-ae75-8872f8f8385a/04251189-8ac2-4347-9f46-ef91ae52b24d.jpg[/sp]

yeah im pretty sure that [sp]if i owned the park i would want to know what was in the genetically created dinosaur[/sp]
also i love that [sp]dr. wu still used frog dna[/sp]

[sp]Imo that is one of the two biggest mistakes they made. Literally anybody related to even the tiniest part of security would want that info known. Rex alone is tough enough to deal with, but finding out ON THE FLY that he can change colours/skinpatterns, can change his own thermal signature ánd is basically a Raptor the size of a fucking T-Rex is the stuff that turns this from "fuck, containment breach" to "JESUS FUCK EVACUATE THE WHOLE GODDAMN ISLAND HOW CAN HE DO THAT". The second biggest mistake is that they have no less than FIVE detection/containment measures on the I-Rex (Walls, cameras, observation area, thermal imaging ánd tracking device) but Claire fucks off to the Control Center while Owen and 2 guards both immediately go into the paddock BEFORE they check the I-Rex' position on the tracking device. If even one of these mistakes hadn't been made it would've been much less of a problem as it turned out to be.[/sp]
Is this really a thing Americans do?
It's not a stereotype. It's something americans do. They clapped at the end of the climax and when the credits rolled.
As if we some how survived a dinosaur attack.
Just saw Jurassic World. Was def an 8/10. But got so many questions though.
[sp]Is InGen evil now, along with Dr. Wu? Because they definitely seemed highly evil and looks almost like they planned out the events in the park. On that note, I really fucking hated Hoskins in the movie, I'm so glad he died. But I'm sad they also had to kill Masrani. He wasn't as bad as I thought he could've been, he was like Hammond honestly. And I also hate Wu now, I liked him in the first, sorta. But now he's just straight up evil to me. If there is a sequel(which no doubt they're gonna make), I hope they shed light on why Wu and Hoskins did what they were doing, and why InGen suddenly turned face. From the sounds of it, they want the dinosaurs for war machines. I hope, if they make a sequel, they don't center dinosaurs as war machines. And honestly, I really want Jurassic World to be the last movie in the Jurassic series.[/sp]
Also, [sp]Not a question, but a statement; I fucking loved that dinosaur battle between one of Owens raptors, the trex and the irex. Was the highlight of the film for me. Also loved how they included the original park, seeing the original jeep's and the original T-Rex and the banner... oh god, it was amazing.[/sp]

[sp]I'm pretty sure it was done out of precaution, especially after the Nedry incident in Jurassic Park. He shut down and ruined the whole park to steal the dinosaur embryo's. I think, since Dr. Wu was mainly behind the creation of the I.Rex, he wanted nothing major to come from the dinosaur other than it was a genetically modified dinosaur. He might of been worried of spies. It might've also been a dummy dinosaur to see how dangerous and fierce a genetically modified creation can be. Especially since Hoskins was more into the dinosaurs for how they could've been useful in combat. Since he and Dr. Wu were apparently on close terms, he might've bred the I.Rex purely to test how dangerous it could be, and he got what he wanted. Might also be why Hoskins was interested in Owens raptor crew, and how it responded to human command.[/sp]
The dinosaurs were cool I guess but the plot/characters/script were all so awful it took me right out of the movie.
Its a solid 3 stars.
Also good job using the big reveal with the jurassic park theme on some park buildings and a load of cgi people. It isn't a big sweeping shot of the island or dinosaurs, nope its some buildings. The whole direction of this film was a total mess.
i've just realized this about sums up my feelings on jurassic world

This movie was terrible. It was worse than Alien: resurrection.

You mean the completely open and functional park that they showed (which is kind of a big deal)? Seems like a good use of the theme to me.
This movie was terrible. It was worse than Alien: resurrection.
It wasn't the best, but I can't even see how Jurassic World would even rank worse than Alien: Resurrection. I couldn't even see Jurassic Park 3 ranking worse than that film.
This movie was terrible. It was worse than Alien: resurrection.
If you compare this to alien resurrection, you really have lost your mental capacity for criticism. Literally, that is one of the worst posts, you don't even realize how bad Alien: Resurrection is. It's just shit. Pure shit. JW isn't pure shit, it's gold, if not maybe bronze. You can't compare Alien: Resurrection, aka gold covered shit with Jurassic World which is just gold (or bronze).
I went in with absolutely shit expectations. I was certain it was going to be a bad movie.
But nah, it was pretty solid. Wouldn't mind seeing it again but I probably won't rush to do it.
[sp]Also god fucking damn that poor assistant lady. Like, she wasn't even a bad person and she gets one of- if not the- most horrible deaths in the series. I didn't even get a kick out of it, it just made me uncomfortable.[/sp]
You know what the worst part about [sp]Zara's (the British/Irish/whatevereuropeanaccentimamericanshutup) lady who was supposed to watch over the kids) death? When the Mosasaurus rose up, its teeth tore into the flying dinosaur---but she was swallowed whole. That means that, if she wasn't killed by the sharp teeth that was inside the creature's jaws, she probably STILL wasn't dead and wouldn't be for however long it took her to suffocate while being digested. Fucking cruel.
Why do people have fetishes of being eaten alive again?[/sp]
Jurassic Park is a good movie in the way that Godzilla or Independence Day are good. Shallow yes, but you watch it for the dino mayhem and funny moments. Plus, you get to see hunky handsome Chris Pratt prototype himself for his Indiana Jones role.
Actually, was the film shallow? It seemed to offer some commentary on consumerism and the war on terror. Like all the guests at the park represent big, dumb middle class America who need to be constantly entertained by WOW factor that the greedy corporations give them. Coincidentally, if you wanna get meta, that's basically what's happening in real life with millions of people attending theaters to watch this corporate movie.

Don't call JW by JP. I thought you were calling the original shallow for a moment.
Most good movies are written by one person, or an established team. This movie shows you why. When multiple people write the movie, you get this kind of garbage. Yes the movie delivers on the mindless action, so if that's what you want then you'll be happy.
The movie starts with parents sending their kids to the park, why? The movie offers vague hints, but there's no follow up. [sp]the divorce part is what I mean[/sp]
Other stuff is almost too ridiculous to put into words. [sp]Raptors as anti-terrorist special forces? Someone really thought that sounded even remotely plausible?[/sp]
Another low moment [sp]when the raptors are pitched as the anti-I Rex weapon of choice. They are obviously too small. How stupid is D'Onofrio's character supposed to be? How stupid are the other characters to not just say "Raptors are too small, they'll just get killed"?[/sp]
The whole thing is just poorly constructed. This is what you get when so many people stick their ideas in the script.
To all the people complaining about the raptors, just be glad we didn't get the original concept.
Gonna go see it tomorrow. Pretty pumped to see dinosaurs on the big screen again.

[sp]That's because Dr. Wu and Hoskins made a secret deal. Dr. Wu implemented some other animal genes into the creation and they didn't want anyone to know. Wu is also not one of the good guys.[/sp]

The melody use was to showcase that Hammonds dream came true with Jurassic World. The park was open.

That's because the raptors still remain to be the most intelligent dinosaurs. They use tactics and their speed to overcome threats.
I really enjoyed Jurassic World when I saw it last Friday.
I enjoyed the humor in it, the raptors and the end.
The musical score is also really great and I love listening to it.
I don't really have any criticisms about the movie, and I'd gladly re-watch it again.
