I'm planning to go see the movie tomorrow. The reviews say the 3D conversion is quite better than Titanic 3D and way better than Star Wars Episode 1
But they're using the T. rex logo instead of the Spinosaur logo, meaning they've learned their lesson and won't pull that "something bigger and meaner than T. rex" bullshit next time.
I wouldn't hold my breath. So far there's been a lot of talk recently about a new dinosaur being front and center for JP4. Wouldn't be surprised if they even have him as a new logo once the actual marketing starts up.
I thought they would have learned from Jurrasic Park 3.
New Dinosaur better be Carcharodontosaurus or some kind of Super big T-Rex.
OR A BLEND BETWEEN THE TWO, OH SHIT.
So Jurassic Park now has better CGI and 3D than most movies coming out today, god damn.
The Stan Wilson School youtube page has a whole lot of videos about the animatronic dinosaurs used in the movies. These are just a few, but there are a bunch more on the channel itself.

Saw JP3D last night. As I was too young to see it when it first came out in theaters 20 years ago, actually being able to see it in theaters now was a special moment for me. I loved it. It was like watching it for the first time all over again.
The 3D effects weren't horrible, but there were several occasions where I just couldn't focus on the scene because there was so much stuff in the foreground, and I had to close my eyes for a few seconds.
Looks like Jurassic Park 4 might be on Isla Nublar. The director just tweeted this:

I was just about to post that.
Man I'm fucking psyched about this. I've always wanted to see Nublar again.
I just watched it and I have to say, I was quite impressed with the 3D effects. It amazes me they got it to look as good as it did on such an old movie. They certainly spared no expense. Also, I had only watched Jurassic Park when I was young and didn't understand it so watching it at the theater was like watching it for the first time and was really awesome. I think it is now one of my favorite films ever.
I love the shit out of Jurassic Park, and I tend to try and stay on the optimistic side of things as far as movies go, but...
Resurrecting a franchise that's been absent for 12 years, with a director who's only directed a formulaic indie film based on an old internet meme, with a production team that almost considered a script about an evil army of human-dino hybrids?
I do not have high hopes for JPIV.
Jurassic Park 4 is being delayed to ensure quality:

Apparently the director gave them a script and when Universal read it they decided to go all out on this one.

That's good. I'm glad they're not just making a quick cash grab. I really wonder what the hell they're going to do with the film though. Where can you go with it?
Here is the sysnosis of a old script draft (the draft has been scrapped due to the major revisions from Trevorrow, but if it wasn't for him, this is the original plot before he came along)
JURASSIC PARK 4, set in present day Isla Nublar, is now an actual theme park, as originally intended by John Hammond in the first film. It garners 10 million visitors per year and is completely safe – until it’s not. The park itself is described as very Sea World-esque and includes an area called the Isla Nublar Lagoon. That means underwater dino’s for the first time. No indication of what kind, but there’s concept art showing one of the aquatic dino’s, as part of a show, jumping out of the lagoon and eating a strung up great white shark like it was a fish for a dolphin at sea world.
As part of a show, you ask? That’s right, folks, this will feature “tamed” dino’s. In fact, our source indicated that the usually menacing Velociraptors (which will finally be muzzled, along with the T-Rex – until they’re not) will actually be used to help fight the threat, which begins in the form of a new dinosaur, not seen in any of the previous films (and not disclosed to us) shows to be much smarter than originally thought and is the main cause of havoc breaking out at the park.
So, to sum it all up, JURASSIC PARK 4 will take place back on Isla Nublar with a fully operational dinosaur theme park (I’m sure no expense was spared) that’s both prosperous and safe, until a new dinosaur figures out a way to wreak havoc, causing the use of the now tamed Velociraptors (and T-Rex? Unclear) as a means to fighting the threat.

That's everything I want in a Jurassic Park IV and more.
Oh god are the troublemakers those dino-human hybrids. That was fucking dumb as shit. Also sounds a little cartoony with the part about making tamed dinos fighting the baddies.
Maybe it is those invisible/camo dinos from the lost world book, or not. Just throwing it out there.
And then the twist at end was that it was Malcolm all along

That's, that's chaos theory.
I saw this news yesterday.
Don't know about you guys, but it sounds terrible to me...
I hope the new script is nothing like this, and they completely overhauled it to not be absolute shit.
This whole script goes against the grain of what the JP movies have always been about: you think you have control, but you don't. "Life finds a way" etc.

But it's still the same principle, it just takes a bit longer to get going.
The park is up and running, they've got everything totally under control!
Until they don't. Then all hell breaks loose.
But it's stupid.
Who in their right mind would try and start another fucking dinosaur park after what happened to the first park. On the very same island nonetheless...
This whole thing sounds like bad fanfiction.
Is there any good site with some good fan fictions how the next movie could be? It's interesting reading such possiblites how the story could be.

This might strike you as strange but we humans tend to have a LOT of confidence in ourselves even when we shouldn't.
"Yeah, those guys tried it and failed but we won't make those mistakes, I swear!"

It's something I like to call the Frankenstein principle.
"Oh, I know things went horribly wrong last time, but that was because of X! I won't be so careless!"
It's human nature to want to succeed. The money and glory that would come with something like successfully resurrecting dinosaurs could prove too much for whoever's in charge on In-Gen now. They build a new park and like the last one, there's no problems at all until something goes wrong.
There were multiple mentions of Sea World... maybe they created a concrete-zoo style park? That would negate the initial issues of the first one, and then give a reason for making the park...?

They can't play that card anymore, since they literally had Hammond say "Don't worry, I'm not making the same mistakes again" in The Lost World.
(And yes, I know Hammond isn't in control of InGen anymore, but I doubt the current owner of InGen could get any more retarded than Hammond or his nephew).

But that's always the interesting thing, I find, about Hammond as a character.
You might look at him and say, "what an idiot, tampering with that shit", but say all of his resources are passed onto you.
Can you honestly say that you'd immediately destroy all the tech used to create dinosaurs? That not once would you ever think, "if I did this differently, it might work..."?
Aside from the novelty of "WOAH FUCK DINOSAURS", there's all the possibilities to better mankind. What if the cure for cancer is found within some prehistoric creature? What if a prehistoric plant is resilient enough to help end world hunger? These are the kinds of temptations that make the metaphorical big red button all the harder to not press.
