Lol Hanzee [sp] Turns into a non threatening fat italo-american with balding patterns (which native americans don't have) [/sp]
[sp]Only thing in this season that felt silly. Besides that, one of the best tv shows ever. [/sp]
I love this show and I think that this season definitely maintained unique art and cinematography, but in terms of story it was nothing like season 1.
I noticed how everyone here is praising this season but please pay attention as i elaborate. (spoilers are for both seasons)
[sp] Season 1 was probably something like a year ago but if would take me seconds to come up with the top moments of it.
Hell, Lester meeting Malvo at the doctor's office? Lester killing his wife,or that poster Lester had in his basement with the fish going the other way, I can go on for hours.
that season had so many memorable moments, and I think that's especially what make a good writing.
How many moments from this season do you think you are going to remember in a year? that big cool gunfight from episode 9? maybe. that time mike killed the undertaker
in a move that probably reminded you of Django Unchained?
I'm not saying this season was poorly written, what I am saying is that the story did not have those outstanding elements that defined season 1.
Come on, this finale? Imagine watching the entire first season ending with Malvo getting away. I don't think anything topped that moment when Malvo was shot 5 times and still opened his mouth.
The spaceship, how can you just do that? it's unfair to the audience.[/sp]
This season was fun to watch and technically speaking was very professional, but in my opinion, it lacked a lot in terms of writing.

[sp]hanzee's killing spree
UFO at sioux falls
hanzee's revolver running out in slow motion, that whole scene
the judge getting iced in a pretty comedic way
the butcher shop fire
[/sp]
i felt like there were a lotta fargo moments in s2 myself, but i haven't felt the raw, burning tension that i did when fucking lester [sp]ran in to malvo at that party and shit just went south again[/sp]
i feel like s2 could use a little more credit though :v:
okay, i'm all caught up with season 2. [sp]finale seemed slow and showed what it needed to, it just felt like something was missing. i think i wanted to see more of a bridge to season 1, but i'm just being greedy seeing as i was spoiled by the flash-forward and the whole moses tripoli thing. hanzee's fate is fucking ridiculous though, was that kind of surgery even available in the late 70's?[/sp]

[sp]Were the aliens?[/sp]
I started watching this show when I went to meet my girlfriend's parents in Fargo, ND. Her dad introduced me to the show and said how a lot of the little things are actually totally accurate to that region.

I love how this show is managing to get such big name actors each season.
I love how this show is managing to get such big name actors each season.
The cast is astonishing. Joining McGregor is Carrie Coon and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and now it was announced that Jim Gaffigan, David Thewlis, Scoot McNairy, Shea Whigham and Michael Stuhlbarg has joined the cast.
Coon [sp]will portray Gloria Burgle, a practical woman who grabs the fire extinguisher when the bacon catches fire and everyone else panics. The chief of police in Edna Valley and a newly divorced mother, she struggles to understand this new world around her where people connect more intimately with their phones than the people directly in front of them.[/sp]
Winstead [sp]will play Nikki Swango, a crafty and alluring recent parolee with a passion for competitive bridge playing. She is a woman with a plan who is focused on always being at least one move ahead of her opponents.[/sp]
Gaffigan [sp]will take on the role of Donny Mashman, a police deputy who works alongside Gloria Burgle[/sp]
Thewlis [sp]will portray V.M. Vargas, a mysterious loner and true capitalist who delivers Emmit (Ewan McGregor), the Parking Lot King of Minnesota, the bad news that he has just become partners with his employers, whose business interests lay outside the law.[/sp]
Stuhlbarg [sp]will play Sy Feltz, Emmit’s right-hand man and consigliere[/sp]
McNairy [sp] is set as Maurice LeFay, a stoner with a criminal past[/sp]
Whigham [sp]will portray Meeker County chief of police Moe Dammick.[/sp]
Holy fuck that's a lot of famous names.
Season 3 premiered tonight.
It was pretty damn good. Definitely setting up a good tone for the rest of the season. :ok:
aw fuck I missed it
aw fuck I missed it
It's on netflix
And it was fucking good
damn that scene with V.M. Vargas was downright spooky
Fucking dumb that Netflix doesn't have this show here
I'm already hooked. Really good season premiere.
[sp]As someone mentioned on the subreddit, the AC scene was the most Fargo thing ever[/sp]
Also, [sp]dat ass[/sp]
That last episode was essentially a filler, really disappointed with it.

Oh noes my tv series' character didn't [sp]get it right the first time[/sp] as all humans do and because the show dared to show me human nature it's filler crap
That last episode was essentially a filler, really disappointed with it.
But Fargo never had the over arching plot as the main focus though, it's all about characters with the plot as a tool to discover and change them. That episode showed us more of Gloria, and also had her go through stuff that has most likely changed her. It did a good job at making us care more for her character for later episodes imo
hey its officer Mac
"I've got to drop the kids off at the pool"
"you got kids?"
"I GOTTA TAKE A SHIT"
mac killing me
After the cup > Shackles off
Damn, I couldn't have predicted what happened in tonight's episode.
Very curious to where the season is going to go on from last night
This season is great, last nights episode was brilliant
well I don't know if it'd call it great, or better than the previous 2 seasons, but this season has easily been the most uncomfortable and disturbing one by far.
vargas is f*cking insane
His teeth picking makes my mouth hurt so badly.
A lot can happen in the remaining 4(?) episodes. I like the characters and plot overall better than season 2, but I'm going to have to see all of season 3 before I can say if its better or not.
This season's plot feels rather weak, but I really love the characters.
