This fucking show. It's so good.
Nice backstory/slowly moving plot along episode. Enjoyed last weeks episode a bit more, but hey [sp] he got his kid back! [/sp]
[sp] he got his kid back! [/sp]
Sure did handle a vampire apocalypse well. [sp]"Dad, what happened to Matt?" "Oh it's related to the epidemic, they turn into vampires." "Oh. Where's mom?"[/sp]
Yea, don't know if its the writers or the kid's acting but something was off.
Yea, don't know if its the writers or the kid's acting but something was off.
both, this kid can't act for shit.
kids a bad actor period took me completely out of what was otherwise a fine episode.
Last nights episode was good! [sp] Kelly's transformation was interesting, it kind of gave me the feeling that she was kind of resistant because she wanted to find her boy. But she's going to be something greater then these other vampires, because the master has something planned for her. I wonder if her will power will break her free of the master's control if she sees her kid. Or maybe I just thought the wrong thing, and it was just her slowly turning, going after her loved ones, and the master calling her because she is going to be like the German. [/sp]
[sp]Still waiting for them to explain the Umbrella Corps anti-vampire vampire hit squad episodes ago. It's like they just forgot about them.[/sp]
[sp]Still waiting for them to explain the Umbrella Corps anti-vampire vampire hit squad episodes ago. It's like they just forgot about them.[/sp]
I KNOW! That was the most bad ass part yet, fuck.
they somehow made something that should be really cool and ballsy ([sp]killing kids[/sp]) into a really shitty and soppy hamfest with that FUCKING terrible kid actor and his christmas bike. for real, get out of the show?
[sp]Still waiting for them to explain the Umbrella Corps anti-vampire vampire hit squad episodes ago. It's like they just forgot about them.[/sp]
apparently this is book spoilers pls don't hit me [sp]there are other strains besides the master[/sp]
[sp]there are other strains besides the master[/sp]
omg use book spoilers atleast I think it's book spoilers, they haven't said this on the show yet afaik.
jesus I hope two certain characters are killed off in the near future child actor pls go
"In engineering terms, you'd call that a fail. An epic fail!" fuck off and die
For what they were trying to do, that was by far the most cliche episode they've had, and hopefully now that they did like every one in the book: [sp] oh noes my phone is mysteriously unsecured, despite being completely in my pocket a scene ago oh noes kid on a mission he has no business being in because dementia alz-mom randomly freaks out AT THE JUST THE RIGHT MOMENT oh noes my wife's disembodied voice in the MIDDLE OF THE MONSTER'S BATHROOM WHAT COULD GO WRONG HERE I'll JUST GO ALONE AND GET HER, OF COURSE SHE'S FINE oh noes the tunnel changed shape when the last person went in it oh noes I will randomly turn into crazy old man who magically loses all perspective despite being cool as ice at every other moment of crisis oh noes everything that could go wrong does oh noes guy who's worked in a tunnel all his life can't hear train or feel pressure change from a GIANT FUCK OFF TRAIN [/sp] Seriously like every reason no one ever take horror movies seriously anymore was invoked within twenty minutes back to back, and all the writing staff is better than that, and have shown it on both this show and others. Hopefully that was simply working all of them out of their system and getting back to making this more realistic and tense than the source material was, and wrting as they have been will be order of business til next season. Surprisingly weak and cliched episode.
Despite all the cliche things this episode did wrong, one shot stood out. The one with [sp]Fet lighting the flare and losing his shit after seeing a whole horde of vampires.[/sp] That was cool. Otherwise, I agree. writing game 2weak
I enjoyed last night's episode. [sp]Nora's mom has to go. [/sp] [sp] Gus's story is getting good, when he met the kid I was like oh man the crews getting together! I did enjoy the tunnel story, Fet is a really good character as well. Though Nora dropping one uv light, and then throwing another one in the hole, you think a person would realize that dropping lights could potentially break them. And the old guy (seketrain[idk if thats how you spell his name]) breaking the coffin was a good scene, from building it to destroying it. I wonder if that was the master's resting place and if it would have any giant affect on him. [/sp]
The entire subplot of Eph's kid trying to get Nora's mom cigarettes was just terribad
Gus is my favorite character.
Fact: If the show cut Eph and Nora (and therefore, the kid and the old hag) it would improve tenfold.
omg this episode was so good [sp] Nora's mom is gone! Gus getting kidnapped by the vampire squad!? I hope they show some of that in the finale. and the siege on their home base + the warning.. judging by the previews it seems that the masters goo can give you good health, and the worm is what turns/lets him control you if he wants.[/sp] Really liked this episode can't wait to see the finale!
So how did you guys like the finale? [sp] It was pretty awesome imo. Starting off with the main group's story, and how awesome the fight felt! And the master can take the pain of direct sunlight, that's pretty insane, I also like how when he called for help how all the vampires retreated... Gus and the vampire squad having three of them sleeping that look like the master... That can't be good in the long run. But the ancients and underground base thing was also really cool. The old rich guy (forgot his name) throwing the lady off the balcony was shocking, too bad she won't be able to talk to the president and ask him to declare martial law on the city. Though I mean if the emergency system went farther out then just the city, I'm sure someone should have contacted the president and he should be able to understand the situation a little more... so I don't know. And I'm glad the guy who has been loyal to him finally left him, he seems like he could help out with fighting the vampires as well. And of course at the end of the episode the kid seeing his mom! She was saying his name so I wonder if she still has some part of her inside that is resisting the master, or if it was like always just trying to play on their weakness. [/sp] All in all a great finale, can't wait for next year!
The [sp]fight between the group and the master was super lame. The outcome was fine, but don't make it so the Master stands still for like 10 seconds while Abraham just stands there doing NOTHING then escaping. Same thing with the hacker shooting the german 3-4 times in the shoulder but doing absolutely nothing while he stands still. She couldn't have just shot him in the head??? At least make it believable to allow the two antagonists to escape.[/sp] Besides that, the finale was pretty good. [sp]The sight of Eph's wife with Zach was super predictable, and I wish they just killed her there to finish that sub-plot. At least they know now.[/sp] Also I found it pretty silly how Eph just had a bottle of liquor in his cabinet if he supposedly was sober for years. Are you sure you were sober all that time?
[sp] Gus joining this sub faction of vampires and the vampire goon squad to kill the master is pretty awesome [/sp] Overall good show, better than some of the shit shows that has come out past few years.
Small book spoilers [sp]Why is Quinlan such a pansy in the series? In the books he's an unstoppable behemoth of destruction[/sp]
Small book spoilers [sp]Why is Quinlan such a pansy in the series? In the books he's an unstoppable behemoth of destruction[/sp]
S2 spoilers [sp] Quinlan was just shown on tonight's episode for the first time. The vampire squad was what people speculated to be Quinlan, but in one of the first few eps of S2 the head vampire swat guy said his name was Vaun. [/sp] I'm really enjoying this season even more so. Also the ending to tonight's episode and next week's episode is going to be INCREDIBLE. and The Strain got renewed for a S3!
So I've been watching this and really enjoying it, it really ramps up the stakes after each season and season 4 thus far has been great.
