The Orville - New "Star Trek" like Show by Seth Macfarlane

There does seem to be an ongoing theme, revisited again last night, that the Admirals are quick to put their idea of the greater good over ethics and the value of individuals. So far it's just served to put the Captain out on an even more dangerous tightrope to find his solutions, though.
motherfucking tuvok
that last episode fucked me up emotionally
Really wasn't feeling the most recent episode until the very end (except for the funny Bortus subplot, which is not usually the case). Something about it really wasn't interesting until the last 20 minutes or so (once he started messing with the simulation)
What really got me was when Kelly said something along the lines of "She made someone from 300 years later fall in-love; she must have been really special."
I love how she quoted the song.
Another good episode this week. I thought I was tired of Moclan stories, but they way they built and escalated this one kept it riveting. Also Moclus is becoming something of a metaphor for Saudi Arabia, isn't it?
Yeah I wasn't too into it at the beginning but it picked up really quick. Though I wanted to see how Bortus' husband would react at the end - we didn't get any indication he isn't still furious and clinging to his old traditions.
Seeing both Deanna Troi and Worf's brother Kurn in this episode made me real happy. I'm loving how many of the old cast they've been including as guest stars!
I'm sure most people already noticed this, but I just realized last episode that Union Central is right next to, and probably part of, the United Nations Complex.
Damn, that ending genuinely took me by surprise. My interest's been piqued for the finale.
I gotta catch up with the rest of this show. I've seen a few sporadic Season 2 episodes, but I've been intending to go back and watch the whole thing. I've heard good things about it and liked what I've seen so far.
This week's episode is another hit for me. [sp]But it seems they fucked the timeline anyways[/sp]
I think that the crew will be protected by the changes in the timeline somehow. The description for next week's episode is just "The crew deals with the fallout of Kelly's decision", and the trailer only has one new shot in it I think.
I had completely forgotten about The Orville during the break, I assumed it was only 10 for the season. Just watched the Gordon Holodeck episode, damn man that was good. Poor Gordon, when he is leaving seemed so genuine. Great ep.
remember when gordon spent over a year in the holodeck pretending to be a soldier in world war 2? that was a messed up season.
Sounds like a load of Malarkey to me
Surprised no one is talking about the finale here yet. Finally had a chance to watch it this morning and I thought it was really quite good! Definitely hoping the show doesn't end here and that it gets renewed.

I like how Isaac's actor was just walking around on set without his mask on, then tried to hide. Gag reels always remind you exactly how much Serious Business acting really is.
renewed for season 3

From some of the team (maybe all not sure) that made the Enterprise-D virtual tour game the was was C&D'd by CBS

That's pretty cool. I know this is a fan project, but I wonder how official some of those locations are? It never occurred to me that Ed's office would be right behind the bridge, though it makes perfect sense, (especially with the those's TNG influences). Also, for some reason, it's hilarious to see giant stairwells like that on a starship.
Does the orville even have elevators? I actually do not recall.

Ah ok. Bad memory I guess
hopefully they dont follow the blueprints because everything seen in the show is a 10-30 second walk away so they use a lot of camera tricks to make the ship feel big.
ADG Perspective
Looking at the set blueprints, it looks like they put a lot of stuff in the same place, but a lot of it makes sense. Quarters and what not are probably elsewhere, of course (maybe not Ed's). Though it is funny that they put the shuttle outside the crew quarters windows in the 3d walkaround considering I guess that's where the actual set is too.
Also looking at the blueprints, they seem to only have the two quarters, big and little, so I bet there's a lot of running around to get things redecorated all the time.
