They've said in an email mailer that it doesn't look like things are gonna end well for humanity.
I'm cool with that, just as long as it isn't a sub-par conclusion. That new track seems promising. A bit tentative though, I'd like to see how far they can push the music this time.

Compare how the Breaking Out Demo sounded to the final version.
The Protomen are fucking great, I've listened to Acts I and II SO MANY TIMES.
A Night of Queen is amazing too what i like about protomen is it isnt like a bunch of dumb mega man nerds picked up some instruments and wrote songs about mega man its a bunch of super talented musicians taking something goofy (but still cool) like MM and turning it into a rad as fuck opera
Damn right Mega Man is cool.

These guys are soo goofily over-the-top live, but, like an old 50s movie, they throw themselves so wholeheartedly into the cheesiness that it becomes endearing.
It sickens me to know there are people who like The Megas and dislike The Protomen. The Megas are like, sing-songy megaman reference jokes the band.
I have literally never heard of anyone disliking the protomen.
My friend only likes Hope Rides Alone and Vengeance because they sound a bit like metal. It's better than nothing.
wouldn't he like sons of fate then that's the most metal song they have [editline]28th October 2012[/editline] also that act 3 song is straight up metal
Heavy Metal.
wouldn't he like sons of fate then that's the most metal song they have
I can't be the only one who thinks the opening riff from Sons of Fate sounds like Killing In The Name Also I always thought of The Protomen as more punk then metal, at least from their first album.
By the way, for those of you who listen to both the Megas and the Protomen, I could have sworn I heard Protoman's riff in this song: 2:40
saw them live in okc immediately deleted both albums off my harddrive and only have listened to them sparingly since. what a horrible experience
it was a horrible experience to read your post
it was a horrible experience to read your post
smash those pumpkins opal
what exactly caused you to make such a terrible life choice
I admit, for all the talk of them being "so good live" I find them to be pretty terrible live. They seem to have a lot of trouble hitting the notes (but to be fair, if Panther belted 'hope rides alone' at every show he'd strip his gears so fast he'd need to drink aloe vera for a month). That's no reason to cut them off though. The studio versions are great.
It's more of the experience of having the audience sing the choir, the helmets, all that stuff. That said, yeah, the singing isn't that great at the live shows.
The singing live is "eh", but they put on a show, not enough bands do that anymore.
some wigger i know who blasts rap music at high volumes every chance he gets caught me listening to the protomen today and called them garbage. needless to say he has a black eye now.
smash those pumpkins opal
I don't know why you said this and why you also posted it on my last.fm shoutbox.
some wigger i know who blasts rap music at high volumes every chance he gets caught me listening to the protomen today and called them garbage. needless to say he has a black eye now.
wow u beat up someone for having a different taste in music that u so cool!!
wow u beat up someone for having a different taste in music that u so cool!!
He actively insulted me for listening to them and called me a 'kiddie whos stuck in the 80s' He is also a dick bully who picks on lower classmen all the time for being young. I think I had a right to punch him because he was a dick. If he just said "I dont like that music" that would have been fine, but instead he insulted me for listening to said music. And he was a dick bully in the first place.

lmao why get legit upset that someone doesn't like the protomen [editline]29th October 2012[/editline] I haven't actually seen these guys live yet but if a night of queens is anything to go by they're fuckin fantastic I can see some of those notes being hard to hit live though like in vengeance or the will of one even in the studio version panther chokes on the higher notes slightly
I feel like Keep Quiet is a little underrated. It's one of my favorite songs on Act II (Then again, so is every song on Act II).
I just wanna ride a motorcycle to The Hounds.
I just wanna ride a motorcycle to The Hounds.
wouldnt Breaking Out be a better motorcyle song though? well just about any song from act ii would be a god motorcyle song
