The box is an attempt to break down the walls between our world and the others through vibration frequencies.
There are many layers to the other worlds, Briggs didn't age as he became part of the other world, however Cooper did as he was more an interloper than anything, thus the flow of time still affected him. He's literally been sitting in that chair for 25 years.
The nuclear explosion created an opening for entities to enter our dimension, and this process was later moved to electricity as it became more ubiquitous. This is also one of the reasons why supernatural events in the series seem to have become more common.
Doppelgangers exist possibly due to decisions creating parallel universes, however only one universe is the 'prime universe, so all others are slowly purged until the 'important' universe is observed.
There's a lot of superfluous material as well, but the vast majority of information on that site directly links up to concepts brought up in this season.[/sp]
Yeah this was pretty much my theory as well although many details and various random things are still a mystery to me, it's really hard to put everything into a cohesive way.

[sp]Not just that, but it drew Bob toward humankind as a host for evil and garmonbozia gain since Bob & The Experiment became aware of the evil men were capable of.[/sp]
[sp]The reason Tamy was moving so weird and kept looking between Diane and Gordon is because she's still wearing a wire.[/sp]
[sp] I have a theory that Tammy is working for Denise to spy on Gordon. Their first conversation about his lecherous nature could imply she was intended as a lure. Maybe Gordon is a bad guy, especially with the nuclear bomb picture on the wall. This is also more of a stretch, but there's a ominous blurry shot of him in the first teaser as well. I don't know, maybe I just think Lynch being the bad guy would be genius. [/sp]

[sp]Gordon was Nixon's FBI contact for Douglas Milford to continue the Blue Book Project with. Gordon definitely knows more than he lets on.[/sp]
Obviously Gordon knows more than he lets on, why do you think he's the go to guy for Blue Rose cases?
[sp]Gordon knew almost instantly that Booper was a fake Cooper anyway. the fact that Booper acted so cold to Gordon was probably a big giveaway, then the inversion of the soul-finger thing. in TP S1 when Gooper and Gordon entered the same room, Gooper didn't even need to look at Gordon in order to recognize him, he just snapped his finger and pointed, same for Gordon. whereas Booper took a full half-minute to recognize Gordon and thumbs up at him and all that shit. his deception fell apart real hard without the garmonbozia.[/sp]

legit every reddit poster's bedroom.
like this post if you're watching twin peaks instead of gamer thrones tonight !
greatest sex scene ever captured on film
I've been watching it live alongside the American broadcast at 2am on Sky.
Fucking Game of Thrones took its slot and pushed it back to 3:10... screw this I ain't staying up next week.
Damn that was a great episode. I love how everything is slowly falling into piece.
[sp]My first thought about the outro was "This is very evocative of the Club Silencio scene in Mulholland Drive," turns out it's the same lady[/sp]
I enjoyed this episode but I feel like Lynch finally tipped over the edge regarding the "very long shots with not a lot happening in them in the name of being atmospheric" thing. I liked the reveal that, yes, Chad is in fact just as much of a fucker as he appeared to be. He has absolutely no depth to him whatsoever and in that way he is relatively unique for a Twin Peaks character.
that continuity error with chad is painful to see

what error?
what error?
when he walks up to lucy's desk and turns to the front door, hands go to belt, coutershot to lucy who speaks her line and his hands are above his stomach, countercut back to chad approaching lucy's desk and his hands are right back on his belt
like he's the subject of the frame. that was pretty sloppy tbh.
granted if this is the only thing im complaining about you know it's pretty good shit lol
I really enjoy the way Lynch handles violence in his work. It's effective and horrific (even if not graphic) in ways that most other directors and filmmakers just can't do. He builds up the tension, he constantly makes you feel uneasy, and as a result the kills are just that much more disturbing. In a film and television culture where killing has been largely sanitized (given that fuckin dozens of people die in most action films that feature death) and has removed all of the terror from. Lynch kinda breaks the fourth wall a bit and is basically harvesting the terror of his audience as his own garmonbozia. He's extremely effective at it.

Not as bad as Ike taking a shot of whiskey in between cuts somehow
I'm probably the only one that thinks this season of Twin Peaks is extremely slow and drawn out. It has cool stuff but I could have seen everything in half the time.
I felt like it was a pretty weak episode but mostly because the last one was so great. This one felt very uneventful and like somebody already mentioned it was quite drawn out.
We get so many subplots and characters but they do not evolve in any way. Wish there was more to see. I really liked the Hitchum brothers though.

I never know if something fucked up is going to happen during one of those moments. There's always nervous energy in Twin Peaks.
That scene with Richard and [sp]Sylvia[/sp] was fucking horrifying
Is Richard [sp]Audrey's son, or is he something confusing like the son of a child that Jerry had? Would that even make Sylvia his grandmother at that point or is there another familial relationship term for that?[/sp]
Either way, it's almost hilarious how unabashedly evil he is. In the original seasons, even the most evil characters had a soft side or at least some levity or sophistication to them, except for Bob.
[sp]Wait is Richard a demon child of Audrey and Booper[/sp]

I am not sure but I feel like the only one who doesn't like Richard that much, not because of his violent behavior but generally he doesn't do much and is just plain evil without much depth to be honest. I don't feel particularly threatened by him nor does it feel suspensful. I thought that Windom was more unpredictable and suitable evil character. Leo was also far more interesting generally speaking.
