Yes it was. We're finally getting to the point where the Sandyhook case is as interesting as Broadchuch trial, and we finally get the new characters fleshed out. It's the quality I loved while watching Season 1, we're getting there.
New episode was great. I'm finally caring about the sandbrook case.
I'm more confident it was the father that killed the girls now. The whole Claire and Lee thing is almost certainly a red herring. They're most likely somehow involved but overall I think the father did most of it.

It looks like they had some sexual intercourses together and I wouldn't be surprised if something went wrong at the time.
That was a great episode. I'm almost certain the verdict is gonna be guilty. [sp]If it were not guilty that would have been the cliffhanger to end the penultimate episode on.[/sp]

It would literally destroy the relations in the town, and you can bet your ass that someone would try to kill him, opening new investigation, and a circle continues[/sp]
Couldn't have asked for a better conclusion to the season. Everything that felt pointless in the earlier episodes came together perfectly.
also, Broadchurch will return.
Pretty good ending, slightly weird with the two lawyers suddenly becoming friends again though.
Totally called that it was the dad that did the main murdering though.

That's one thing I kind of wanted more of, the lawyers. They just seemed to peace out after the verdict, I thought that moment where the defence's sidekick was called a horrible person was alluding to some later development with her character but I guess not. Maybe in season 3.
Series 2. It was a good epilogue. It's not a story that needed to be told but it was nice anyway.
At one point I thought it was [sp]going to end with Joe being killed and it being a mystery as to who actually did it[/sp]. Glad it went how it did though.
Not sure another series is needed, is it? Yeah I love the characters too and want to know what's going on with them all but I could say that about anything I've enjoyed watching or reading. Doesn't mean I need a story generated for it. It would've been fine if Series 1 was the end of it. Series 2 was a nice 'and they lived happily ever after'.
I just get the feeling ITV and Chiball don't want to let go of a good thing and will milk it for everything. Which is a shame because it really felt like the sort of story that needed an end and has now had two.
I believe Chibnall said that he always planned Broadchurch to be a trilogy of series' so I'm fine with it. If it's always what he's planned it means he probably has a good idea of what Series 3 is going to be already and thus probably has been laying the path for it throughout S1 and S2. I am interested to see how everyone gets back to living now the trial is over.
Also, when everyone [sp]dragged Joe to the hut[/sp] did anyone else think that they were going to [sp]record what Joe was saying and then bait him into confessing only to reveal they were recording him all along[/sp]?

Which is weird, because it doesn't follow the generic three-act formula. Everything was tied and explained at the end of season 2. All transformations for the characters happened. There's no more to that, nothing that S3 could revolve around that's not pulled from the ass, that exists in this world.
Relationship, crimeless drama? Nope, out of place, and there's not many relationships left to tackle. And Hardy hardly has a reason to stay in Broadchurch.
Joe trying to come and live again in Broadchurch? Guess it makes sense, but then why banishing him (from the storytelling point of view) in the first place.
It just seems ended. Finished. Anything more would look like milking. But then again I'd love to be proven wrong.

And say what you will, but Season 1 was much, much better.
Man, I never knew this show existed, but now I'm really interested. I will probably check it out tonight.
