Consider me intrigued, Adam Sandler in a drama role - it's a rare view to my eyes. By the look of the teaser you could think that the entire film is dialogueless, and all communication is through the thought bubbles. I doubt it, but if that's really the case then I totally want to see this concept in action.
What a coincidence, I saw a video about that that touches on that visual thing

the whole "chat bubbles are the first thing to become outdated" thing is spot on. however, i think plain text on the screen also looks pretty cheap and tacky. the example at 2:21 is probably the best one imo, it's 3d but not over the top, and it's easily distinguishable but still simple and doesn't feel out of place.
I don't like massive use of the text bubbles.
I want to watch a movie, not read it. When I want to read, I'll go get a book of mine.

Yes.
You are the worst kind of person.
What a cast! More excited for this than the Disney version now.

Benedict Cumberbatch as Shere Khan. Those sly devils...
i'm surprised disney didn't snatch up bale.
funny enough, he did voice acting for pocafuckinghontas (that little bitch thomas who shot the chief's son or w/e), then about ten years later was john rolfe in the new world.
Holy fuck, why haven't I heard about this before - Antonio Banderas, Melanie Griffith, Robert Forster in something that looks like I, Robot blended with Blade Runner with atmosphere of District 9, but with robots instead of aliens

Basically this? But movie version.

About damn time they do something similar. Such a good story, I'm surprised it took so long for another 'robots rise against humans' movie

He's the creator of Three Laws of Robotics after all, and this flick takes it as a main concept.
According to Weinstein Company distribution info a teaser of The Hateful Eight will be shown with Sin City 2, and online release of it is not planned. Obviously, shaky cam quality will appear right away, but looks like Quentin is still mad on the internet.
Apparently it consists solely of title cards with possible v.o. from the live read. It's basically nothing, but at least it should clarify the cast.
As mentioned - it tells us absolutely nothing. But it looks cool as hell, and stylized. If not the fact that I was pumped for this film the first time it was even mentioned, I'd be pretty hyped now.

man, i can understand quentin's butthurt over the script being leaked, but they really should release the trailer online. i mean, i'm going to see sin city 2 anyways, but it would be nice to not have to watch somebody's awful grip in a theater.
also, is it just me, or did anyone else feel reminded of like japanese painting when the title came on the screen?

I got the impression of blood dripping down, until it started the horizontal parts

Yes. The influences coming from Seven Samurai and The Magnificent Seven will be strong in this one in a very Quentinish way.

I hope it has a strong soundtrack like Kill Bill.
Gotta love 'Lonely Shepherd'

Tarantino personally chooses music for his films and it's always a great choice. Except enourmous amounts of black hip-hop in Django, but there rest in this film was amazing.
I remember that around the time his script has leaked, a track list was there. It included Ennio Morricone ("Sixty Seconds to What" and "Ecstasy of Gold" among them), Johnny Cash and many classics.

And because I was wondering - if the cast from live reading were to reprise their roles, that's how the line-up looks like:
1. Samuel L. Jackson as Major Marquis Warren "The Bounty Hunter"
2. Kurt Russel as John Ruth "The Hangman"
3. Amber Tambelyn as Daisy Domergue "The Prisoner"
4. Walton Goggins as Chris Mannis "The Sheriff"
5. Denis Menochet as Bob "The Mexican"
6. Tim Roth as Oswaldo Mobray "The Little Man"
7. Michael Madsen as Joe Cage "The Cow Puncher"
8. Bruce Dern as General Sandy Smithers "The Confederate"

"It’s like being in a time machine, going back to the time of mutton chops and Neil Young,"
"...it’s the first [Thomas] Pynchon film adaptation, and it really catches his tone,"
"It really catches [his] antic nature: the crazy names of characters, the nutty behavior, and then also the emotional undertone. It has the flavor of Pynchon. It has this 'Big Lebowski' element to one side of it, but the emotional undertone, the desperation, the paranoia, and the yearning in the film... [Paul Thomas Anderson's] an absolutely amazing filmmaker and it’s incredible to see him responding to someone else’s creation and then building his own creation out of it."
Friendly reminder: at this year's Toronto International Film Festival such films as Foxcatcher, The Imitation Game, The Judge, Men, Women And Children, The Theory of Everything, Whiplash, What We Do In The Shadows, and NIGHTCRAWLERRRR will be screened. It starts September 4th. Expect a wave of reviews afterwards and naming first contenders for award season.
Inherent Vice opens at New York Film Festival with Birdman and Gone Girl around end of September/beginning of October.
Set against the backdrop of the early 1960s, at the height of the Cold War, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. centers on U.N.C.L.E. agents Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin. The two team up on a joint mission to stop a mysterious international criminal organization, which is bent on destabilizing the fragile balance of power through the proliferation of nuclear weapons and technology. The duo’s only lead is the daughter of a vanished German scientist, who is the key to infiltrating the criminal organization, and they must race against time to find him and prevent a worldwide catastrophe.
Count me in if it's anything like his Sherlock Holmes adaptations.
I loved watching The Man from UNCLE. I hope they do it justice.

Smells bait-ey, but I will gladly accept being proven wrong.
