True, Villenevue has had a pretty good track record.
Just the last time somebody did Dune, it was completely off the rails from the book.
I thought Lynch's Dune was pretty faithful considering how much of the book was condensed.

And tbh I don't really care how faithful it is, it has to be a good movie first.
If they made it a trilogy, I'd be completely okay with that. I feel like you would have to anyway if you want to remain very faithful to the book.

if i was any other person, i'd take a bond project in a heartbeat. but denis is living the dream, getting good budgets to make the films he actually wants to make, so i perfectly understand it. i'm still curious to know what a villenevue 007 would look have looked like, though

Ye and so does Nolan and he's talked with the producers a number of times about it, but according to some interviews i read ages ago that I cba digging up again, his interest is pretty much solely on just doing the next Bond reboot when they bring in a new actor. So hopefully after this next Bond movie drops and ends up being forgettable they'll go ahead and recast and bring on Nolan finally :ok:

iirc david lynch has said before that he really care about dune and therefore half-assed it or something like that.
lynch didn't just fuck up the source material though, he made a genuinely awful movie.
I honestly feel like Bond needs to look a certain way and Jamie Bell doesn't look like he'd fit at all.

if you don't actually know, it's based on that old goofy video game Rampage. there is also a giant lizard and a giant wolf in the movie.

for some reason they changed it from being people that got turned into giant monsters, into animals that got turned into... bigger animals. with the Rock being a guy that studies animals and is trying to save the giant gorilla. idk why but who cares lol this was always just gonna be about the stupid spectacle of cities getting destroyed for an hour or two anyways
