yeah no. another dumb explosion fest. great
I think that it's just meant as a reference to the volcano destroying the island. I'm sure they wouldn't have hired Bayona if it was just going to be another explosion fest.

sigh. i'm still going to watch it like a chump though.
I don't care what people say, I liked Jurassic World and am excited to see what's next.
I remember a supposed script leak of Jurassic Park 3 (starring Tony Shalhoub, a volcano, and a T-Rex in a cargo container port), having a [sp]baryonyx[/sp] play a role. If that is indeed what that is, it's exciting to finally see one on screen.
so uh apparently that alita: battle angel movie is still a thing.

Camerons been hyping it up for nearly 2 decades. Hopefully it'll be OK.

That was a staggeringly bad trailer but I'm cautiously optimistic about the movie. I liked the director's previous films.
yeah the only thing that trailer made me want to do is rewatch black mirror
What is really surprising is how much of a clusterfuck the trailer is, full of choppily edited scenes with no relation, yet the fucking extended look they released 2 days earlier (also posted on this page) did such a better job of hyping somebody up for it.

Matt Shakman, director of countless TV episodes, including some Game of Thrones and Fargo plus almost a third of all the episodes of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, is directing a live action adaptation of... The Phantom Tollbooth. what the fuck lol. I mean it was bound to happen sooner or later (loved the old movie as a kid) but what an odd choice for director. Regardless tho he's a really good director so it'll probably end up fine anyways.
The new jumanji film is getting a "goosebumps" reaction right now, and that's pretty surprising to hear but it's nice to see my comments about the trailers just being shit were right and it's actually a fun film to see (from what the critics say so far) like goosebumps. i don't see it holding up to the original in anyway but it's nice to see it's standing on it's own even with the jumanji name attached.

EDIT
I'm looking at the reactions on twitter right now and i'm seeing a positive reception so far.

I'm trying to figure out where I heard the phrase "Ready Player One". I'm sure it was in the title or a book or something.

This is probably the worst trailer I’ve seen for a movie I really want to see regardless.
Wait, they're actually making a sequel to that? Why? It's not even the same director.
We have learned the initial casting for the upcoming live-action adaptation of Artemis Fowl, which will be directed by Kenneth Branagh and produced by Branagh and Judy Hofflund. Take a look:
FERDIA SHAW AS ARTEMIS
Ferdia Shaw was chosen out of 1200 candidates for this part, and will make his onscreen debut in the role. For those who aren’t familiar with the books, the character of Artemis Fowl is a 12-year-old genius who finds himself in a battle of strength and cunning against a powerful, hidden race of fairies who may be behind his father’s disappearance.
JOSH GAD AS MULCH DIGGUMS
Mulch Diggums is a kleptomaniacal dwarf who works for the fairies. We are always a fan of Josh Gad and can’t wait to see him in yet another Walt Disney Studios film!
JUDI DENCH AS COMMANDER ROOT
Commander Root is the leader of the fairy police force. Judi Dench is an Academy Award winner and also one of our favorite humans, so we are so excited to see her take on this role!
LARA MCDONNELL AS CAPTAIN HOLLY SHORT
Captain Holly Short is the elf hero, and we’re pretty sure we’re going to want to be just like her.
NONSO ANOZIE AS BUTLER
Butler is Artemis Fowl’s bodyguard. Anozie also starred in Cinderella, so we’re already a fan.
This thing has been in the production hole for years. Between this and Mortal Engines I now await my Skullduggery Pleasant adaptation to complete my trifecta of kid/YA books I can remember reading
