The Dr.Seuss' Grinch
That design for The Grinch is way too non-threatening. All you need to do is make a CGI version of Jim Carrey's Grinch. [t]http://www.typewriterpeople.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/UM0eQI.jpg[/t]
Tremors 6 is coming, Michael Gross is on board. Tremors - A cold day in hell. Will play in Canada at an arctic research facility where the characters believe that Graboids are being weaponized. Michael Gross' character gets poisoned with venom and has 48 hours to find an antivenom.
[t]https://i.imgur.com/6dIHIx9.jpg[/t] :disappoint:
Illumination need to die. I could see this working if it were Disney or even Blue Sky but Illumination are bottom of the barrel shite.
[t]https://i.imgur.com/6dIHIx9.jpg[/t] :disappoint:
Prepare for merchandise hell and, of course, dancing sequences that look like something from Youtube in 2006 Is this my dream job?

Tarintino's Star Trek film continues to be a real thing that is really happening, as screenwriter Mark Smith (The Revenant) is now tapped to write it http://deadline.com/2017/12/quentin-tarantino-star-trek-mark-l-smith-jj-abrams-the-revenant-paramount-pictures-1202231379/
After being unable to watch Discovery all the way through without devolving into laughing fits at super questionable writing and characterization, maybe this is what ST needs, a complete reviewing of the material with an emphasis on characterization and situation over politics and "technology of the week". Still can't help but think pitting these two together is oil and water though, they have completely opposite writing styles.
Is discovery really that bad?
As a scifi tromp with "grey" characters, it's kind of serviceable in a forgettable saturday afternoon SyFy way. As a Star Trek installment, it's generally pants.
[t]https://i.imgur.com/6gowhzO.jpg[/t] Please no :disgust:
The original writer who created slenderman is helping write this film, could be good or bad. Gonna wait for a trailer to see how it is Source : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5690360/ EDIT Apparently the trailer comes out tomorrow. looks good, ill give it a shot
This looks as bad as the Bye Bye Man
I see they've got they're best generic writers for Slender Man.
Cloverfield pre/se/???-quel "God Particle" has been pushed back. Again. It was initially slated to come out last year in February, then October, then this February, and now it's slated to come out on 4/20. Granted, if the release date doesn't change for a fifth time, it might be fun to get high and go see so there's that.

just in case people already don't know the premise: kajiu's have overrun earth. in a last ditch effort, mankind sends a spaceship to a possible new planet to settle on, when they arrive they find out that it isn't habitable, so they head back to earth with the news. turns out space travel is sort of wonky, as they arrive back to earth several hundred? thousand? years in the future, and the only one left is fuckhuge godzilla. coming onto netflix on january 17

It looks so amazingly shitty compared to 2D. It's okay when it's used sparingly, like in the Berserk movies, but when they get lazy and use it for everything it just looks horrible imo. like the new berserk anime eugh
i seriously don't get the complaints about polgyon's cgi. everybody that says it always just repeats themselves "oh it looks worse than 2d" but never actually details why it looks worse other than "it's cgi so it should be 60 fps!!!" even though it would look awful and super amateur-ish at 60 fps. [editline]7th January 2018[/editline] it's like those people that speed up shows or movies to play at 60 fps. why?
3d doesn't have any of the character or charm 2d does. it feels lifeless and it's not interesting. the fact that it is cheaper and that's why it's used comes across in spades.
They're filming a netflix series here where I live (Malta), which means it's probably set in the Middle East. Some kind of spy thriller either directed or produced by Paul Greengrass. Just informing y'all.

Today in Ridley Scott news: He might helm Disney's adaptation of the Merlin Saga. Considering his track record for medieval/sword and sandal movies ranges from awesome to less than okay, this might be a solid fine. Ridley also has plans for a third Blade Runner film Despite it, you know, flopping pretty goddamn hard at the box office, even after getting heaps of praise and being one of the best films of the whole year.
I don't know if I want Ridley Scott back in Blade Runner, but I am open to the possibility of more Blade Runner after 2049 being so good.
Has Scott made anything good recently? Seems like every time I hear about him or see his movies they haven't been good. Also 2049 is for a couple of BAFTAs that I hope it wins
Has Scott made anything good recently?
the martian? although that film had a really nice crew on board.
The Martian was probably the last one, though I have heard good things about All the Money in the World.
Yeah that movie was really well made but I feel like they could used more personality and some story elements from the book.
He still seems to be a decent director but for me personally it feels like the scripts that he works with are all shit. Which is how we got Prometheus and Covenant. If the script is bad, why even bother.
