Annihilation looks awesome

Considering his prolific writing career and years as a script doctor, my bullshit detector had gone off

i'm so excited for this. alex garland has done no wrong, right up there with denis. a straight to netflix release is awesome, my home cinema is a better experience than a real one and i can watch it whenever.

how does this seem like bs? in the current climate joss likely realised how garbage he is at writing female characters and decided it's better he doesn't touch this, though unfortunately likely for fear of a negative backlash than any actual real responsibility.

His excuse is what I’m calling bullshit on. He’s wanted to do a woman-led superhero movie for ages, and when he’s finally given one he claims he doesn’t have a story to tell? Your guess is probably close to the truth, and the source says as much.
Wasn't he outed not too long ago for being an emotionally abusive creep to his ex-wife? Like, he'd cheat on her and then his defense was "no you don't understand, I'm surrounded by all these hot women when I'm making Buffy, the patriarchy made me do it"?
Honestly still surprised he's managed to stick around after that, PLUS his tantrum over Age of Ultron, PLUS the general insanity of his Twitter (see the time he said "I'm glad my mom's dead so she didn't have to see Trump get elected" on Mother's Day).
Like, Paul Feig made Ghostbusters 2016 and that was all it took for him to get cast into the phantom zone. Meanwhile Joss is still chugging along, s'weird.
I remember seeing a trailer for it about 6 months ago. I was actually kindof impressed with what I saw and the plot is interesting. I'll definitely check out it at release.

Some new details about Quentin Tarantino's ninth film, starring Leo Dicaprio, Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt:
Tarantino’s ninth film is Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Pic is set for August 9, 2019 release worldwide. Per Sony, Tarantino describes the film as “a story that takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood. The two lead characters are Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), former star of a western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt). Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor…Sharon Tate.”
Wonder who's playing Manson
Samuel L. Jackson.
Nah I'm just kidding, everyone knows it should be [sp]Christoph Waltz[/sp].
Wait, I thought he was going to make a Star Trek movie?
Wait, I thought he was going to make a Star Trek movie?
he is, but he's already been working on this film since way before that star trek movie was announced. it'll come next.
I hope tom cruise was casted in the end, id love to see what tarantino would do with him
Martin Scorsese's attempt to resurrect the careers of a bunch of old Italians "The Irishman" has wrapped
That would be great news for the year except Scorsese edits his own movies so.... yeah.
Guys, I've got more inside information: apparently the next Terminator is filming this year.

this info I occasionally post, by the way, is given to me by people who work in the film industry. There are many Hollywood productions happening locally, and I have friends who work on them and chat with the cast/crew. Treat it as a rumor, but it's highly likely to be true.

I'm struggling to believe these are even real, they're so fucking bad

Zachary Levi as Shazam.
God I'm actually really excited for this.
Billy Batson is the antithesis of everything the DCEU was going for when Snyder was running the show; if that costume is anything to go off of, this could be the redemption that series truly needs. Something bright, colorful, and above all, sincere.
yea but at least it looks good

I have much disdain for this poster. At least they're keeping it up front that it's "Do You Recognize The Thing: The Movie"

thx, tho Arnold beat you to it just yesterday https://www.cinemablend.com/news/2383001/terminator-6-is-starting-filming-later-than-expected also yea it starts in June to be more specific
also friendly reminder this is the third consecutive attempt to kickstart a trilogy of new terminator films. if it also fails we'll have a back-to-back trilogy of failed trilogy-starter terminator films. good fukin grief.
