It's telling that I can remember the clips from the first movie yet can't remember a damn thing from the second film apart from the cat gag (which was the only one I laughed at when I saw it) and him dragging rocks tied to his balls around in Tibet.
after 20 years of production troubles and restarts and all sorts of insanity, Terry Gilliam's Don Quixote movie is finally coming to Cannes.... oh wait nevermind this is the Terry Gilliam Don Quixote film we're talking about, time for another last second fuck up Terry Gilliam's 'The Man Who Killed Don Quixote' Won't Make It T.. "The basic situation is that back in 2016, Gilliam and producer Paulo Branco reached an agreement about the production of “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote.” In the agreement, Branco would provide the necessary funding for the project, and allow Gilliam to have the creative freedom to fully realize his vision, in exchange for the rights to the film. After none of the promised funding was provided by Branco, Gilliam moved on and found another producer to help get the film going. This, of course, led to the film finally going into production, finishing production, and being prepped for release this Spring. Unfortunately for Gilliam, Branco popped up again, with a claim that the film is not to be released until he gives permission, since he owns the rights to the project, based on that 2016 contract. Gilliam feels that the contract was null and void due to the lack of funding on Branco’s part. Recently, the case went to court, with Gilliam suing Branco over the rights, but the judgment won’t be handed down until June 15. This means that the planned May release, and a possible premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival are now thrown out the window. At the earliest, Gilliam and his team would have to wait until mid-June to secure the rights and move forward with a release strategy. Worst case…well, for Gilliam’s sake, we won’t speculate about that. Needless to say, it’s not good." THIS FILM IS CURSED (and Paulo Branco is a tremendous cunt)
wow fuck that guy
Somebody will end up putting a gun on Gilliams head before It comes out in any screening
Actually pretty interested in this one, looks pretty crazy and doesn't seem like it takes itself too seriously.
Christ on a cross.
so out of nowhere the trailer for 'The Man Whole Killed Don Quixote' has popped up on a french website http://www.allocine.fr/video/player_gen_cmedia=19577805&cfilm=138557.html vimeo reupload: https://vimeo.com/263304363
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Qv6p6pTz5I I chuckled a bit Unless the reviews say it's good I'm still pretty disinterested.
Terry Gilliam's 'The Man Who Killed Don Quixote' Might Get That .. Yesterday, we reported that due to a pending legal dispute between filmmaker Terry Gilliam and producer Paulo Branco, the upcoming “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote” was blocked from release and would probably not be shown at Cannes. However, with a recent statement made by OceanFilms, that might not exactly be true. Might just be shown at Cannes after all.
Great, it'll get a screening but the theater will probably burn down right before the opening titles.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DaG098VUQAAZkl_.jpg:large Hope you're all excited for Soldado I mean Sicario 2: Soldado sorry, I really mean Sicaro: Day of the Soldado Christ, my interest is waning with every title change.
Rowan Atkinson still has it but I wish he'd get cast in something more respectable.
interest should've been out the window the moment it was announced it wasn't gonna be directed by Denis Villeneuve again tbh. At this point the only thing that'll get me in the theater is if it gets REALLY good reviews.
The only things keeping me interested is are del Toro, Brolin and Taylor Sheridan's script.
The people behind this sequel seem competent but the title changes and the second trailer makes me feel it won't be as unique as the first one.
God I love when great movies actually do well at the box office A Quiet Place, made on a budget of $17 million, just made $19 million on its opening day and is poised to close out the weekend just short of $50 million. 'A Quiet Place' and 'Blockers' Look Strong Heading into Weekend well fuckin done John Krasinski.
now you have: a quiet place isn't very good. it's serviceable but full of problems and cliches and i feel most of the positive press is coming from people who saw it because they recognize jim halpert and not because they have any interest in horror films. so this might be something new to those people it's nothing new or interesting to people who like horror.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uljtvXrkdbc get ready for bad max
With Lucy Liu* *who isn't actually in the rest of the trailer but here she is! We promise she's in the movie!

i was pretty stoked with the first minute of the trailer and then it's like 'oh' it could still be fun i guess
I'm all for cheesy creature features.
Considering they needed chinese funding to finish it, not really expecting much... also nuts Li BingBing turned down Dark Phoenix for this.
Is Li BingBing a good actor? I only saw her in TF4 (END ME) and thought she was awful. Like a giant Chinese billboard ad that was put in the movie to get foreign sales high.
She's, along with two others, pretty much the "it" girl in hanitized cinema right now, and I do realize that this film started quite some time ago filming, but considering what the X-men franchise can do for world wide sales and your profile thereof, why the hell would you pick a shark movie already in development hell before casting started over an international sure thing.
Maybe they offered to give her a bigger paycheck?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TTdcyRi-nw This was announced ages ago and I guess got trapped in post production hell, but the true story it's based on makes it seem interesting enough.
I was actually kinda interested in this until I started digging and realized this film is just a sea of red flags. The fact the film did have some sort of screening back in March, where afterwards only a single critic could be bothered writing up and submitting a review calling the film super boring doesn't help much, but then when you actually look up where that screendaily quote they so proudly display comes from, you realize that guy didn't even like it either lol. That quote of his was actually said to back-up a point that it's not Carrey's fault the film is "too drab to be even cult-level fun" and then there's this shit https://i.imgur.com/B8kBasN.png AKA "well it sure is a nice cast!" ok but is the film good?? second off they couldn't get any decent publication and instead had to go with a horror movie reviews website, third off that doesn't even come from any review they published because BD haven't actually reviewed the movie yet, and 4th they don't even say WHO at bloodydisgusting said that quote which is a problem because I can't actually find it having been said fucking anywhere on there lol. oh and of course "post production hell" always means "we can't figure out how to make it good". good god PASS
I just want Hereditary and Under The Silver Lake to be out already.
